Alright,

So for Christmas I bought Lara and Julie tickets to see Monty Python's Spamalot.  We all get dolled out and head over the Ambassador Bridge into good ol' Detroit.  Unfortunetly, there are no signs whatsoever directing you to the Lodge Freeway from I-75.  So we end up way the hell out at 14 mile.  By the time we get to the Fisher Theatre over on W. Grand Blvd. we're over an hour late.  To make things worse, guess what happened. . .

I couldn't find my ticket!!!

It must have fallen out when I had been getting in and out of the car asking for directions.  I wanted to cry, but at the same time I was too pissed off to cry.  So instead I sat around glowering.  After a thorough search of the car we went into the theatre in hopes that they'd let us in anyway.  It was intermission.

We talked to an usher and told her our story and she said not to worry about it and let us in.  YAY!!!  Then she found us later and told us that she had talked to the house manager and he said we could come back on the friday to see the show for free!  It was a full house, but they'd set up folding chairs in the aisle for us.

Lara couldn't go due to a previous engagement, but Julie and I went and  ooooooh man!  We got $150 each seats for free.  AWESOME.  I died laughing.  Such a great show.

Over all, fantastic experience and the Fisher Theater. . .  I'll see many shows there in the future.

I know unions exist to fight for the workers' rights.  I know that they're there to protect us.  I understand that.  However, as a new member of one, I am frustrated.  I really dislike it when they protect the wrong people.  I really dislike it when they protect the people who go out of their way to disrespect others.  Finding loopholes in collective agreements (I want to know what collective because I was never asked about this agreement that I have the issue with) is like trying to find a guppie in a lake with only a pair of binoculars to help you.
