Wow, it is definitely time for the rain to go away for a few days. Whitley and I need some outside time. I have decided it just needs to rain at night and only on Tues, Weds. and Thurs. so as to not mess up our weekends. LOL
Easter we got together with Family & Friends for a late lunch in Norman. Then most of us dropped in on Daddy, {Grand Dad, Great Grand Dad}. He was eating his dinner so some of the grands went up and let him know that we were there and down in the Pool Hall, {Recreation Room} waiting on him. When he finished eating, he and Bill and Al came down to visit with us. Pool games were played, the juke box stayed hot with Golden Oldies from Country to Big Bands. We pretty much had the whole room to ourselves. It was a good time.
We do our best to go see Daddy at least every Sunday for dinner. With jobs, school, after school activities, it is hard to get to see him much more often.
What he loves the best, is when someone just pops in on him in the middle of the day, during the week. When they do, I hear about it as soon as Daddy can get back to his room and his phone. He has such spark in his voice when he has had an unexpected visitor.
So, Brighten up his day, just drop in for a few moments for a no reason at all. He would love it.

Bruce & I went for dinner & a visit with Daddy at the Veterans Center on Sunday, 3/1/09. We sat with our usual group. Daddy, RoRo, Me, Bruce, then the extended group was all there, Al, Bill & Lenard. Jana is usually there, but she had obligations with Sara that evening. That is what happens when you have young people that depend on you. We talked and laughed for quite a while. After eating we went to the Pool Hall (recreation room) and played Dominos. Daddy came up to the table and asked where his were so we gave them to him. That is the first time I can remember playing dominos with Daddy since I was about 14 years old. It was fun to have him join us . Usually he will sit beside us and sleeps while we play pool or dominos. He just likes having us there. It was a very pleasant evening all around. (RoRo and I won BOTH Games) just for the record. LOL Danny and Angela bought a business this year they will be having the: Grand Opening on Sat. March 7, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:oo p.m.
The Snow Cone Stand is the name of their business & it is located in Lindsay, Oklahoma. I have an INSIDE SOURCE that says they are the Best Snow Cones in the area. LOL Our grandson, Danny James, will turn 11 years old on Friday, 3/6/09. Our grandaughter, Emily Faith, will turn 7 years old on Weds. 3/11/09 Wow, this could make a Grammie & PaPa start to feel old! LOL Our grandaughters, Jessica & Jordan are starting Soccer this Sat. 3/7/09. Saturday mornings are about to get very busy. ~~~~~~~I LOVE BEING BUSY~~~~~~~

Valentines will always be a special time of year for me. Bruce and I had stopped seeing each other for about two weeks, in 1971. That was the longest two weeks of my life. We got together for Valentines and I cooked him a special meal of Brown Beans, Fried Potatoes with Onions, Cornbread and Fried Hamburger Patties. He gave me a nice box of Chocolates and we have been together for the last 38 Valentines. In 1978 during the worst winters Oklahoma has ever seen. Snow and Ice were everywhere, We were BLESSED with a beautiful little baby girl, Joy Christine. She just would not wait for Valentines, she came at 9:00 p.m. on Feb. 13. What a Blessing. Bruce, Granny and Danny were up very late, filling out Valentines for Danny's school Valentines party the next day. Here we are again, Valentines time again and we are all getting together with our exstended families and celebrating Joy's birth.

The New year was brought in with some Very Special Friends, Doris & Michael at Remington Casino. We have not been out on New Years Eve in over 10 years. This year was fun, however, I do not want to be at another casino on a holiday, again. Way too many people. On New Years Day, we went to eat lunch with my Daddy, both my sisters and their daughters and some friends of Daddy's at the Vet Center. They had a very good meal and the company was very nice. We stay in stitches, laughing at some of the stories we hear from some of the gentlemen that eat with us when we go down for meals. Daddy loves to hawler at people and have them come over and meet his family when we are there. Yep, he is still proud of us all. That makes me smile, even if he has been cranky with us while we are there. He has to be able to vent with someone, so who better than his children. Anyway, the new year was brought in with good friends and wonderful family. I Thank God for ALL of my family and friends. GOD BLESS OUR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS AND OUR COUNTRY IN THIS THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2009

WOW, Christmas came and went too fast. We had a Big Meal with Our Families, in Lindsay. Some of the children went to play in the Park and it was so nice outside for them. Then there were gifts and games and just visiting with everyone. A friend of Daddy's came to visit and they had a good time. Daddy wanted to go over to see his house and his dog, Rosco, so a big group took him over. Rosco still watches over the place. LOL He was all over Daddy, even though it had been a long while since they had seen each other. It was sweet. Daddy was sad that his house was all empty, but he handled it well. He just had not seen it that way yet. We all wish that he could still be at home, but there is no way for that to happen. He has so many special needs. Everyone had a good time. I do so wish that we could all get together like that more often. Daddy, Rhoda, Rhonda, Kerry, Me, Bruce, Danny, Angela, Brittany, Danny James, Emily, Jacob, Joy, James, Jessica, Jordan, Thomas, Reba, Whitley, Jana & Sara. 22 of us. We are growing in numbers, that is for sure.
It was good!

Thanksgiving has come and gone this year of 2008.
Bruce and I had a nice Thanksgiving Lunch with my Dad, my sisters {Ro Ro & Jana}, neices {Rhonda & Sara} and several of Dad's friends at the nursing home. They were all very happy to see us and introduced us to their loved ones that came. Some were eating alone, but stopped by our table to say hi. We took pictures, but of course I don't have them downloaded as yet. LOL
After a couple of hours in the Pool Hall {recreation center..lol} we all headed to Rhonda's & Kerry's home where they had prepared a nice dinner that we shared with them. All in all, I ate way too much and enjoyed it all.
Our children had other plans and it sounds like MOST of them had a very good time. Joy & James had Thomas' & Reba's family over. Thomas worked past the time to eat at Grandad's nursing home and from the tales I have heard, they had a blast, playing cards after dinner. Sounds like we missed a lot of fun.
Danny & Angela had some nice plans to celebrate at home with some of their long time friends, but they had a virus hit some of them and there were not able to celebrate the way they had planned. Well, at least they were together. They were in our thoughts and prayers.
All in all, mostly a good time was had.
Watch out Christmas, here we come! We are already looking for a place to celebrate that we can ALL fit in.

My hubby has pneumonia and is house bound for this entire week. Poor baby has to put up with me poking pills and cough syrup down him.
He is doing better today and the doctor is happy with him, but she will not let him go back to work until at least Monday 10/27/08. Then he has to wear a mask to work in for at least a week. That is for his benefit, to keep him from catching anything from anyone else.
Praise God we caught it early!

We had a wonderful surprise this week.
I had spokend to Bruces Aunt France (She lives in Alabama with his Uncle Dick) on Sat. 8-9-08. We were on our way to the Thunderbird Casino. Aunt Frances & Uncle Dick love to gamble, but little did I know how much. As we were going into the casino, I told Aunt Frances to give us a call sometime and we would all make some planes for a long weekend meet in Vitzburg, Mississippi and spend the weekend sight seeing during the day and gambling at night. She said that was a wonderful idea, they would love to. I thought that we would talk again soon and make some plans.
WELL, little did I know I had opened a can of worms. ROFLOL.
Monday evening we were sitting in the living room all settled in for the night. DING DONG, DING DONG, DING DONG....Bruce ran for his clothes and I went to the door. I almost fell over. There stood Uncle Dick on the front portch. I could hardly believe it. They had gotten up on Sunday morning and as Aunt Frances was getting ready for church, Uncle Dick told them (Aunt Frances & their daughter, Doris) to get ready. They said "Why", He said "We are going to Oklahoma" and they did. We had a good visit on Monday night and then Bruce took a personal day from work and spent all day Tues. showing the around to the sights they wanted to see. Then we all went to dinner at Riverwind Casino in Norman and then spent a few hours giving them our money. That lucky Aunt Frances won right off the bat. So did Uncle Dick. Bruce and I stayed even for a while, but we just decided to leave our money there. LOL Doris finally got into the feeling of the evening and started playing a little. She won some but in the end, she left her $2.00 there, too! LOL
Sadly we left and took them back to their motel around 10:30 p.m.. They were leaving early this morning and Bruce had to be at work by 7:00 a.m. and I had to get things ready for the grands to come over. Life is back to normal today. We had a wonderful time visiting with them. Thankfully, all three of our children were able to get in a few minutes of visiting also.
They had to be back by Friday so Doris could go to the doctor and get ready for going back to work on Monday, this was a short visit, but a muchly enjoyed one for us.
Alabama is a long trip, but we have got to make plans to go there, again soon. It is very beautiful. Uncle Dick told us it was our turn. He is turning 75 in Sept. we may try to go then for a couple of days.
FUN WAS HAD THAT IS FOR SURE!

Well we went on our vacation, as usual, it was the week of our anniversary. It was really nice. We took the camper and went to two different lakes. First we went to Belcow Lake up by Chandler and some of our friends, Doris & Michael, met us there and saved us a spot. It was pretty full when we got there on Sat. evening, but it thinned out by Monday. Monday we did some shopping around the big town of Chandler. We ate at Martha's Country Kitchen, it was wonderful. We will return, just to eat. LOL
We left there and went accross country to Sulphur and camped again at Arbuckle Lake. They have some really nice camping sites. We liked it so much, we just stayed there for the rest of the week. We also hit every Casino between the two points. LOL NO, we did not win, but we did pretty much break even, most of the time. LOL
It was so very hot that we did not really go out much, until it cooled off in the evening. If you call 75 to 80 cool....lol. One night I just had to make a fire and cook dinner. WOW, IT WAS HOT....ROFLOL. That only happened once. We sat there in the evening and watched Owls and Buzzards and Redtail Hawks just sore in the sky over us. We put our water melon rinds on the table one night and when we got up the next morning, of course, something had eaten them clean. Now for the funny part. Bruce was all nice and wondering what it was that ate the rinds. However, when he went to the truck he discovered that whatever it was that got the rinds, also got into his tackle bag, ripped open his catfish stink bait and ate every little crump. ROFLOL....then it was a little (^^&**&%) varment. I laughed until I almost cried because of the way he got so upset. He laughed too!
We came home on Friday afternoon and dropped off the camper. Thomas was here with the three girls. It was so wonderful to have the girls so thrilled to see us. When I told them we were not really home, Jordan laid accross my lap and said, "Yes you are Grammie, I can touch you". That was so sweet. Then we left again and went back to Chandler. The shopping we had done was for each other for our anniversary gifts to each other. We found some wedding rings that we both liked and so we went back and got them for each other. They are just what we both wanted. The sales lady said "Awe" when I had Bruce put my new rings on me and I put his new ring on him. I always try to have him put my rings on me when I have had to take them off for some reason. I love my original rings and will never part with them, but it is nice to have the new ones, too, they are beautiful. We have been married 37 years. Three children & their Spouses and Eight grandchildren. Not a bad average if you ask me. We are looking forward to at least 37 more.
We both have had our 40th class reunions in the past two months. It was an eye opener. Man, some of those people have really gotten old...roflol... Fun was had at both gatherings. People just seemed to pick up where they left off at the last gathering. It was cool.

Wow, I have a wonderful day coming up tomorrow.
I normally have three of my grand daughters during the week while thier parents work. Thankfully they still like coming to see Grammie. LOL
On Thurs. of this week, I get to also see four more of my grands. I am very excited to see them. They live out of town and there is usually some space between our visits. Just a much our fault as it is anyones. There just is not enough time anymore to do all that we want. We all have such different lives and yet, we do manage to touch base and enjoy a cookout or a birthday party. We need more holidays.....LOL With just 22 birthdays in our family and special holidays in the year, we do get to see each other some. That also makes 22 lives that we all have to work our gatherings around. Man, I guess we are pretty lucky to get together as many times as we do in a year. WOW! "Praise God" for my family.
