Bilenky Cycle Works has been doing some major rearranging and cleaning over the past couple of weeks. Workbenches have been shifted, fresh pegboard hung, a new machine has been installed and a 5,000 lb. milling machine was moved. These changes have resulted in much more workspace, walk space and bicycle storage. STAY TUNED FOR A NEW SHOP TOUR VIDEO!

Steven Bilenky, Simon Firth, Pat Gillham, and Pat Gaffney enjoyed a lovely evening of cinema at the Ritz Theatre last Wednesday. The group was privy to a special advance screening of The Flying Scotsman. The Flying Scotsman is based on a true story about Graeme Obree, a Scottish cyclist, determined to break Francesco Moser's Hour Record and win the World Championship. Obree struggles against his own mental illness and the resentful hostility of sports authorities. The film was a bit sappy but what do you expect when the plot of a film is an athlete overcoming adversity. The movie did feature some neat bike footage as well as a brief shot of Obree brazing. Folks from Bicycle Therapy and Time Cycle where also present. All had a grand time.

A BCW Viewpoint Tandem was ridden to an 8th place finish in R.E. Load's 7th Annual April Fools Race. The tandem was captained by none other than BCW's Patrick Gillham. Expert route planning and power was provided by stoker Chris Henrick (owner of a Bilenky Signature Travel Midlands). In addition to pedaling their way to the top ten, the team also received an award for heaviest bike (weighing in a 53.14 lbs). One of the secrets to the teams success was tracking down Pat Gaffney (BCW's #1 Customer). Pat was dressed as the Playboy Bunny and could be seen riding all over Center City. Finding Pat landed the team an extra 300 points. The team also earned 200 points for stopping at Simon Firth's house to have make-up applied to their faces. BCW's Simon Firth and Bob Kamzelski as well as Simon's wife Victoria all made sure that every racer left their checkpoint looking divine!
