Revolt In Style magazine did a little piece on my band. I think it's pretty funny. Check it out: Buzzboms Interview!

Yeah, I know in the grand scheme of things The Stokers don’t mean much,
but it’s nice that people are liking the book. Hopefully it wins, of course, but
it’s equally important that people learn the book is out there. If it wins then
beers are on me.

Also, I have to give some mad kudos to D.L. Snell for his diligence
with this one.

Current mood:  chipper
There have been so many reviews of this book buy now that I don't really throw up new ones, but Desmond Reddick from Dread Media recently did the first ever PODCAST review of it and it made my day. The podcast (episode 72) is about an hour and a half long; the book review starts somewhere around minute 54, I believe.

Again, this book goes out of print at the end of this month! Yes, there are opportunities to bring it back to print later, but I am going to take time to consider all the options, so it may be awhile before it happens.

Hey all,
My first novel, The Summer I Died, which received tons of praise, is set to go out of print at the end of this month. It's the last time you'll be able to purchase a copy. I think there are still signed copies up at Shocklines.com and Horror-mall.com. You can also order from any major online store like Amazon or Barnes & Noble or walmart, etc. Or you can try your local store (brick and mortar stores can also order it for you up until the end of the month.).

There are a handful of message boards out there dedicated to horror writers. Most of them breed snark and feuds the likes of which I've only seen on grade school playgrounds, which unfortunately is not always the fault of the moderator so much as the jackasses who show up to purposefully cause problems. But this is not the case with HorrorDrive-in.com.  HDI is the one place on the net where the big names and the aspiring names can meet and have a civilized conversation about horror films, books, collectibles, and discuss their lives. The threads are never off topic, everybody is courteous, and owner Mark Seibers' rants and raves are wonderfully written and engaging.

Mark is going through a bit of a tough time right now, a situation I identify with maybe more than he knows, and so I feel for him. As a result, he's realized he can't dedicate the time and money to the site that it requires to keep it afloat. Today, someone on the boards (not Mark) offered to make a donation to keep the board going. Another member followed suit, and another, and another, and so on to the point that Mark, humble as he is, decided he'd keep the board up if he could get the funds to pay for it for the next year. I myself donated a little something since HDI is one of my favorite places to go each day.

If you're an aspiring writer you need to visit HDI and help keep it up. If you're already in the field you probably know how great the board is and will be sad to see it go. But it doesn't have to. That's the point here. Mark may kill me for this but his paypal email is noclublonewolf@verizon.net  A mere $5 will help keep this board going and let us all continue to read Mark's wonderful reviews and articles. So dig deep and help one of the good guys stay afloat! If you don't know Mark, trust me when I say he's been a big help to my career...so do it for me.

Thanks
