smoking a bong!!As much as I'm pissed off by the self-righteous indignation that this story has produced, that at least is to be expected; I'm actually more upset with Michael Phelps. The man has what, thirty-seven gold medals? And he smokes pot? Imagine if he met this controversy by coming out in favor of legalization, using his own career as proof that you can smoke marijuana and not only be a functional member of society, but reach its highest pinnacles (I could point out that Obama smoked it as well, but really - does anyone actually think we've ever had a President that
didn't at some point?). But instead, he
issues a rushed apology that, amusingly, sounds very similar to the one he gave after being arrested for drunk driving in 2004. I wonder which one people think is worse.
