If you think your bottled water is gathered directly at the mouth of pure mountain spring—think again. What you're most likely drinking is tap water. Even more shocking is that the water you get out of your own kitchen faucet is probably just as "pure" as what you're drinking from the bottle.

Recently, Pepsi Corporation's Aquafina, the leading brand of U.S. bottled water, came under attack for presenting a false image of its water source. Aquafina labels depict snow covered mountains and carry the slogan, "pure water, perfect taste." No where on the label does it state that the water is nothing more than tap water.

Pepsi isn't the only bottled water company that been leading consumers astray. Corporate Accountability International (CAI), which has been pressuring beverage companies to disclose their water sources, claims that up to 40 percent of bottled water brands use nothing more than tap water.

In 2006, U.S. consumers spent $11 billion on bottled water, paying thousands of times more money for the same quantity of beverage drawn from the tap. But that's not all we've been paying; bottled water comes with a high environmental cost, as well.

To quench America's thirst for bottled water, the beverage industry guzzles over 1.5 million barrels of oil each year in the production and transportation of its products. To add insult to injury, our environment is also being polluted by harmful greenhouse gases emitted by water delivery trucks—a harm that could be undone if we simply used the pipes that carry tap water directly to our home.

Don't be fooled. Health doesn't have to come at a high price. Drink plenty of water, eat fresh produce, exercise and keep your body functioning at optimum capacity by making chiropractic adjustments a part of your healthy lifestyle.

If you want to reverse wrinkles and minimize the appearance of aging, you need to avoid refined sugar starting now!

Internationally renowned Microvascular Plastic Surgeon Dr. Lu-Jean Feng was recently interviewed for an article in the May 2, 2007 Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper where she identified refined sugar as the catalyst causing premature aging and wrinkles. "Sugar is very damaging" says Dr. Feng, "I tell people, I can do a face-lift on you, but if you keep eating badly, your face will show it."

Dermatologist Dr. Fredric Brandt—also known as the skin specialist to the stars—agrees with Dr. Feng. In his book "10 Minutes In 10 Years" Dr. Brandt talks about glycation—the nasty chemical process that occurs in your body each time you eat refined sugar.

Here's how glycation works: when you eat sugar, the sugar molecules begin to stick to your skin's protein fibers (think collagen, the elastic material that keeps skin firm and youthful.) The sugar molecules begin to dry out these precious fibers, causing them to lose elasticity and become brittle. As a result, skin becomes more susceptible to wrinkles, sagging and sun damage.

"It doesn't take a doctor to notice a dramatic improvement in the quality of facial skin once a person reduces the amount of refined sugar in her diet" says Dr. Feng, who is also the Founder and Medical Director of The Lu-Jean Feng Clinic Health & Wellness Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

It's simple. If you want to look younger, avoid refined sugar. Take this easy and natural step to improving the quality of your life. And remember to include regularly scheduled chiropractic adjustments in your plan for a long and healthy life.

Anya was a normal and healthy preteen girl, until she developed an eating disorder. Concerned, Anya's mother took her to a psychiatrist at the University of Minnesota. Part of the therapy Anya received was a prescription for Risperdal.

Risperdal is a powerful antipsychotic drug created to treat schizophrenia. Anya did not have schizophrenia or any other major psychological disorder, but because a side effect of Risperdal was "increased appetite", the psychiatrist though it would be perfect to help Anya overcome her eating disorder.

Within two years time Anya gained weight—and she also developed crippling muscle cramps in her back; a side effect of taking Risperdal. Now Anya receives shots of Botox to unclench her back muscles, but still finds herself dealing with severe pain.

Anya's mother had no idea that her daughter would suffer from the medication's side effects. Nor did she know that Risperdal and other similar medications were not FDA approved to treat children.

To add insult to injury, the family later discovered that Johnson & Johnson (Risperdal's maker) had paid Anya's psychiatrist over $7,000 to give lectures about the company's drugs. Anya's doctor maintains that her payment from Johnson & Johnson did not effect her decision to give Anya Risperdal.

But this raises a big red flag. If drug companies and their sales reps are not having an effect on what doctors prescribe, then why does America have over half a million children taking drugs like Risperdal, Seroquel, Zyprexa, Abilify and Geodon most of which are not approved for use in minors?

America—we need to see both sides of the story. We need educate ourselves on the risks associated with pharmaceutical drugs. And we need to take proactive measures to improve and maintain our own health naturally before it falls into the hands of greedy drug companies.

Be smart; eat healthy foods, exercise and seek regular chiropractic adjustments as a natural way to help your body maintain its ultimate state of health and well-being.

Your immune system is designed to naturally fight off colds, viruses, infections, diseases, allergies and asthma, even auto-immune disorders. But if your natural body processes are hindered and unable to function at top level, your immune system—and your health—is put in jeopardy.

Want to boost your immune system easily and naturally? Simply follow these 6 suggestions and you'll be on your way to maximized health.

CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS
The No.1 best thing you can do to boost your body's immunity is to get your spine adjusted. Your immune system is a direct extension of your nerve system. The nerve system is what carries messages from your brain to the rest of your body. These messages instruct the body on how to defend itself from sickness and heal itself. But if these vital messages are blocked due to spinal misalignment, your health will begin to fail.

EAT YOUR VEGGIES
Feeding your body leafy green vegetables, fruits and foods high in vitamins A, B, C, D and E all help to strengthen your immune system. These nutrients provide the building materials your body needs to build up and maintain things like clear vision, strong teeth, healthy internal organs, etc.

BREASTFEED YOUR BABY
Babies that are breastfed tend to be far healthier than babies that are fed synthetic formulas out of a can or a box. Breast milk is loaded with antibodies and other immune building nutrients that synthetic formulas just can't replicate.

DON'T VACCINATE YOUR KIDS
This is a controversial topic, but after decades of studying health and contrasting and comparing cultures that do and do not use vaccines, it's clear that the harsh chemical formulas of vaccines often cause more harm than help. (For more information on this topic, read Dr. Madeira's book "Setting Things Straight" found at http://www.settingthingsstraight.com/)

DON'T OVER MEDICATE
Stop taking drugs for every problem and ailment that occurs in your body, especially antibiotics which prevent your body from building permanent immunity. Not only can drugs become addictive, but every single drug had a negative side affect. There are many natural and healthy alternatives to medication.

GET MOVING
Regular exercise each day, regardless of how little or how much you take, builds your immune system throiugh increased tissue strength, improved circulation of blood and lymph systems and improved oxygenation of nearly all body tissue. This is just one more reason to get those running shoes, golf clubs and tennis rackets out of the garage.

Women suffering from PMS are more likely to have a spinal misalignment--this according to a study involving 84 women—54 who had been diagnosed with PMS and 30 who did not carry symptoms of PMS.

In the study, each group of women was given a thorough chiropractic exam. The exam found that misalignments of the spine were much more common in the women who reported symptoms of PMS.

Next, a series of regular chiropractic adjustments were given to each woman. Months later, the group of women suffering with PMS reported less severe symptoms or a lack of symptoms. These significant findings prompted researchers to conclude that chiropractic adjustments may well be an effective way to relieve PMS.

This study is a great example, highlighting just one of the many ways chiropractic adjustments help brain messages reach all parts of the body, thus allowing the body to naturally heal itself and maximize one's well-being.

Don't let aches; pains and sickness steal your joy. See your chiropractor today and make regular chiropractic adjustments a part of your healthy lifestyle.

Whether you refer to it as soda or pop, these carbonated, sugary-sweet beverages are one of the most highly consumed foods in the U.S.—and one of the worst things you can put in your body.

One 12-oz can of soda contains nine teaspoons of sugar. That's 288 calories in just one soda! Worse still, our society often uses soda to wash down junk food without any idea of how much toxic pollution—sugar, coloring, and chemicals we can't even pronounce—is being released into their body.

No soda—regular or diet—is good for you. Yes, even diet drinks are loaded with dangerous chemicals. So for the people who drink soda, here's something to think about. Could it be possible that the reason you drink soda is because it's bubbly? Perhaps it's not so much the taste that we enjoy, but the fizzle. We don't ever drink flat soda, do we? Remove the carbonation and we have a big fat zero in the taste department.

If you're still not convinced to put down that soda can, consider that soda is directly connected to obesity, bone deterioration, osteoporosis, tooth decay, heart disease, kidney stones, renal failure, mood swings, anxiety and restlessness, to name a few.

There will never be anything better for you to drink than water. Add a slice of lemon or a piece of fruit to add flavor if you must—just be sure to drink water. It's part of a healthy lifestyle that will pay off with improved health almost immediately—and in the long run.

Our body is made up of trillions of cells that form our tissues and organs. Those cells are connected to our brains by way of a vast network of nerve pathways, known as our nervous system. Your brain directs and controls all body function by sending messages down your spinal cord to reach every tissue and organ in your body.

Every cell of your body is in constant contact with your brain, controlling your heart beat, blood pressure, digestion, immune system, liver and kidney function, blood cell production, body movement, etc. But when a misalignment of the spine occurs, some of your body's nerve pathways get blocked, inhibiting brain to cell communication. This blockage interferes with the body's ability to heal itself and work properly. The scary part is that many people have a spinal misalignment and they don't even know it. They do not feel discomfort in their back, but the misalignment may be secretly causing problems elsewhere in their body. That's why receiving chiropractic adjustment on a regular basis is so important to good health.

Chiropractors are rigorously trained for eight years to evaluate the health and alignment of the spine, and its impact on the rest of the body. The treatment delivered by chiropractors is a very safe and painless procedure—so safe that it won't even harm the spine of a tiny infant.

Chiropractic adjustment restores the normal nerve flow from the brain to the body, and back again. In order for your energy to be strong and for your to feel and function at your best, it is imperative that your spine be checked and adjusted to remove misalignments on a regular basis.

Everyone at some time early in life has been scolded for slouching and told to "sit up straight". Now researchers are saying that slouching may well be better for your spine. This new research was reported to the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in a paper presented by lead researcher Dr. Waseem Bashir.

Dr. Bashir, of the Department of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta Hospital, Canada, who led the study conducted at Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen, Scotland, stated, "A 135-degree body-thigh sitting posture was demonstrated to be the best biomechanical sitting position, as opposed to a 90-degree posture, which most people consider normal." He continued with recommendations from the research, "Sitting in a sound anatomic position is essential, since the strain put on the spine and its associated ligaments over time can lead to pain, deformity and chronic illness."

In this research, positional MRI studies were performed on 22 volunteers in three different sitting positions. The MRIs were examined to measure spinal angles and spinal disk height and movement across the different positions. Excessive disk movement indicates the potential for problems. The results show that the slouched or relaxed position of 135 degrees was best and created the least amount of movement or stress. The worst position was the straight up position at 90 degrees.

In response to the study, Dr. Rishi Loatey of the British Chiropractic Association commented, "One in three people suffer from lower back pain and to sit for long periods of time certainly contributes to this, as our bodies are not designed to be so sedentary." The British Chiropractic Association (which provided the graphic above) stresses the importance of these findings and notes that 32% of the population spends more than 10 hours a day seated.

Dr. Bashir summed up his findings by saying, "We were not created to sit down for long hours, but somehow modern life requires the vast majority of the global population to work in a seated position. This made our search for the optimal sitting position all the more important."
