Where has time gone? It's been over a year since my last blog post!
(It was about a father's day race, but I missed it this year.)
Let's see, what's going on with me? - I'm learning a new instrument. Sounds good so far, we'll see how it goes.
- I've upgraded my computer to ubuntu. It's nice and bouncy. Good community support. But, I have to forget any windows or redhat stuff that I know.
- I'm volunteering at an animal shelter. Let me know if you're looking for anyone special.
- I've mostly been moving over to facebook and linkedin. Facebook has an API for apps, so I've been working on some. (mostly for lunapic.com)
- Hopefully I'll be at OSCon in July.

Smith's Challenge / 10K adventure run was this morning in county park. (1:03) Sorry to those that missed it! It was quite a lot harder than I remember... not that I had ever run the full course, this is the first time I did the river crossings.
My next couple of races: Firecracker 5 mile in ephrata Fresh burst 5 mile in litiz or lanc co Triathlon Oxtrot 5 Twilight Trot 10k Blue Ball 5 and the toughest Lancaster YMCA Triathlon (Olympic)
If I can make it past those, I'll be trying for a marathon in the fall.

I see it over and over again. People are just asking to get banned from myspace.
Here are a few simple methods.
1. Edit your myspace layout to disable or hide the ad:

-or-
2. Lie about your age to get your profile hidden / unhidden

Do you know any other Ways?

After trying to help a friend clean off their computer, I realized what the main reason why so many people's computers are infected with this junk: Google and Money. I believe that google is the number one linker to spyware. Search google for words like "smiles" and you'll find loads of software links on the right, on the paid listing side. Things like "hotbar" and "smiliecentral", which have been deemed adware by some. Once you get these installed, you try to search for "ms antispyware" and find a sponsorlink for "ms spyware" and find a link to "Microsoft antispyware" from spywarecleaner.com... which is probably some pretty serious spyware as well. So, why doesn't Google just ban adware and spyware in their listings and ads? Money I guess. I think we need a real movement to force Google to modify their policy. "Do No Evil"(tm) they say. I call their current policy evil, and I think they should change.

Here's another "Big company treats there customers like crap" story. It turns out that many companies purposefully put dried, powdered beetles in your food. For coloring. Dannon Boysenberry yogurt, Tropicana Ruby Red Grapefruit and Good & Plenty Candy to name a few. They hide these insects in ingredient items listed as "Artificial color", "carmine" and "cochineal". The last two are the new truth in labeling wording. Those would be a red flag (or red beetle) warning to you. Those of you who are vegetarian, allergic or just disgusted, should look for those ingredients. Here is More on this story.

Have you heard all the news about the Muhammad Cartoons, and Google censoring websites in China?
Can you believe it, Google is censoring my comics site. While it may have a few political cartoons, it is nothing for google to worry about.
Help me take back the search results. Help get me back in google!
Google has completed censored webcomics.com from their search results, including the Chinese Google site.
(you can verify that they don't have webcomics listed by searching for " site:webcomics.com " )
However, there is something you can do to help! Let them know. The best way to do this is to do:
1. search for "webcomics" on google. You'll see that webcomics.com is not listed.
2. Click "Dissatisfied? Help us improve" on the bottom right of the page.
3. Tell them why webcomics should be listed. include a url to http://www.webcomics.com/
Thanks for all your help!
