I know my updating has been sparse lately, but I have a very good reason.
I'm fucking busy.
I've decided to grab the proverbial career bull by teh horns and wrestle my career out of it by myself. Sure there isn't the comfort of steady pay, cushy chairs, free weekends and free coffee. But at the same time I don't have to listen to colleagues bitch about thier stupid offspring, I work with people who actually know who Offspring is, no staff meetings, no performance reviews and no corporate wear.
Sure I'll still be serving pints as the back up income, but I'm not going to wait around for someone to hand me my dream job. I'm tenatious that way.
Now, between reviewing gigs for Seatwave.com and cross posting them on WickedRock, I'm also trawling MySpace for venues to book my two month tour of Europe with two amazing bands. I'm not going to lie - its fucking intimidating. But, dude, I'm from Jo'burg. It takes more than a continent filled with morons to intimidate me.
Now if you need me I'll be over here reading smut on LJ working hard at finding bookings.

Some people wouldn't know a good thing if it bitch-slapped them across the face.
I'm not one of those people. I can see a good thing a mile away. My good thing spoils me rotten. My good thing is great.
Except for that little problem we have everytime I'm feeling a little too cosy. Yep. My good thing ain't so great then.
Could this explain why I'm really starting to dig my good thing's colleague, who is not only good looking, but single too? Did I mention there was an irish accent involved?
So my guilty concious has me up at 3:45am typing this instead of staying in bed where its warm and cosy. Well, cosy to the point of claustrophobia.
I'm so gonna burn in hell for this.
Good thing I like the heat.

Current mood: sore
I'm 23. Right? Right?
Well, if I'm 23, why the hell am I waking up with a blue eye and sprained wrist? And dodgy recall from the night before?
thing is, I had planned to go to Underworld with a mate of mine. He let me down - again. Was really looking forward to it, so I proceeded to stand at teh end of the bar after my shift and neck three double Sailor Jerry's, along with some codiened Neurofen for my aching back.
This will come back to haunt me.
My mate Laura finished work at 10 and decided to take me out instead. We went to the Worlds End, where I made friends with some S'Affas and a few other guys, flirted wildly, drank more, blagged my way into the club downstairs for free and partied like there was no tomorrow.
I also stepped wrong, fell off the small platform and landed on my head. That explains the bump on my forhead and the blue eye. I think I landed on my wrist cos it hurts like hell!!! I'm battling to type here!!!
Got home in one piece, but now I need to go get a wrist support thingy before work tonight.
I think I'll go again next time I'm off!!! It was awesome.
Just need to make sure Eve the big ass nigerian bouncer isn't working. I think we got engaged...

I just heard a gazillion emo fangirls cry out. The faint echo was that of 'NOOOO!! WHIEEEEEE?????'
Yep, Gerard Way of MCR (if you haven't guessed, my fave band in the world) tied the knot on Monday 3rd Sept. backstage. after a show.
Now aside from the boys getting hitched, you have to wonder - do the brides not want a 'normal wedding'? Do they not want a big white dress and stuff? Or is it now Rock 'n Roll to get hitched backstage with a bunch of sweaty, smelly techs and musicians?
Either way, I'm going to rise above the fangirl mentality, and wish Gerard and LynZ the best fo luck for thier future in wedded bliss.
It was my birthday yesterday and I had a FAB time raiding the London Dungeon, Madame Tussauds and watching Wicked!
Also fought off a would be burglar this morning.
Fun and games!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to my plans to take over the world.

Ok, I know I've been away from blogging unlike my promise to you earlier, but things are a little insane. I'm clocking 66 hour weeks, which doesn't mean I speand 66 hours sitting on my ass. Oh No. I'm on my feet serving IDIOTS! So by the time I get home, I'm pretty much fucked.
Sorry.
Will update when and where I can.
All I can say for now is - I'm working. Maybe you should be doing the same.

Current mood: accomplished
As of two minutes ago, I am the proud owner of two sets of tickets - one set will get me into the Astoria in October to watch the super amazing Motion City Soundtrack and the other set will get me into the O2 in November to watch My Chemical Romance - suck on that you little fangirls!!! MWAHAHAHAHA!!!
And don't any one of you back home scold me for splurging on a few concert tickets. This is part of the reason why I'm in London - to watch as many bands as I can without having to wait an eternity for thier management to wake up and take them out to SA where I have to contend with ridiculous ticket prices and the appalling venue that is The MTN Dome (or is it the Coca Cola dome now??)
Also going to see Kate Nash at HMV on Monday! totally digging her new single!
Oh, and i've been personally invited to go watch Transistor State next week. Why? Cos I'm the coolest barman - EVER!!!
I'll be getting my laptop soon...very soon...and then all blogging hell will break loose!! can't wait!
I'm toying with the idea to go on a cycling tour of Europe next year. Anyone wanna join me??
