Jez had her first birthday last month ( i know i'm late). We took her to the aquarium and she loved it, she loves fish but the thing that confused her was the glass floor, she kept trying to step down onto the ground. When she couldn't she gave up and planted herself in the middle of the floor, i had to carry her out. She's still not a huge talker but we have a few more signs and a couple of new words, most of which have B sounds and if you don't see her much you would think they are pretty much all the same, i suppose parents always understand their own. She has enough hair for pigtails now and her eyes are still 3 different colours, blue, green and her brown stripe. She's so skinny even though she eats all day, i'm not joking all day, but she's tall like her dad, maybe she'll be 6'4" too. Kind of a scary thought, she is going to tower over me however. I'm sure she's going to steal the show at our wedding this weekend, even though she's not a "flower girl" she's still a little scene stealer, if you say cheese she beams at you, oh so cheeky.

It's really not that bad, Jez is a walker now. She started about a month ago, she just got sick of crawling and realized it's much easier to carry things when walking. So now she runs. She still isn't saying much you understand besides mum, dad, nan, bird and hello (when pretending to talk on the phone), but she is learning a few signs, like thankyou which does when she wants something. I love having an 11 month old with manners. Our biggest problem is that she is very cheeky and stubborn, but a lot of fun anyway.

Although lots has happened recently, I keep forgetting to update this thing so here it goes. Jez took 3 steps, a week or so ago from her dad to me, she wasn't even 9 months yet, oh so scary but cool. She was so proud of herself she couldn't stop smiling.
Ummm what else, sh learned how to clap and say yey. She's been climbing up onto our coffee table which is funny but could be dangerous. We had to put latches on kitchen cupboards and fridge because she can open all of the above. And she pretty much eats anything, she loves thai curry, and Lebanese food.
Until next time.

I know i forget to update this thing so i thought i'd let everyone know that Jez started crawling nearly three weeks ago and has now discovered that other rooms exist. She follows us into the kitchen and sometimes to the toilet woohoo any privacy i once had is now gone. She also pulls herself up on the furniture and grabs at everything, her favourite thing at the moment is the dvd player, she has not yet discovered the cds. She likes the sound of her own voice and screams frequently at the supermarket, we are now the proud owners of the noisy kid. We are now taking bets on when she'll be walking, i say ten months.

Well Jez's first christmas has come and gone. I've never seen so many presents in my life, that's what happens when you have 6 grandparents and 5 great grandparents. She liked her toys but found the wrapping paper so much more fun. As far as everything else goes she is now 7kg and 68cm long, her height just went off the chart woohoo. She holds her bottle by herself most of the time and has started having rice cereal for breakfast, sometimes she has fruit too. She is learning to sit up on her own, she props herself up sometimes others she just falls over which she thinks is hillarious whens she's on the couch. She tries to crawl but still can't get both ends to do what she wants at the same time, so she either ends up face down in the mat or frantically grabbing the carpet trying to pull herself ahead. I'm sure it won't be long now until we have to close off the loungeroom and back and front doors, although if she escaped into the bush i'm sure she'd be so happy because her favourite thing at the moment is leaves.

Jez rolled from her back to her belly for the first time on Tuesday, now she won't stop. She rolls on the floor, in her bed (instead of sleeping) and attempts to in her stroller. Yesterday she got her knees up under herself and was trying to crawl but she couldn't quite get her arms to do what she wanted, I think it's time to start moving the bottom shelf of CD's.

I've been told to update the blog so here goes. Jez is now 3 months old she's put on about 2 kg and is about 3 inches longer than most babies her age. Hopefully that means she'll have Jon's height not mine. Her hair is still a mixture of auburn and dark brown. She is so smiley now and sqeaky too, she tries to talk to you and she gets some very intense looks on her face she always looks like she's deep in thought. She did start laughing this week too but she's only done it a few times but it'll come. Her favourite toy at the moment is the cloth nappies I use to burp her with, give em a toy and they love the box right.
