Review in Macleans Dec 16,2006 * XMAS Issue Category: Music Section , Macleans Magazine

The Montreal Gazette

Rating: 3.5 stars out of five

Years of playing in supper clubs have given Geoff Lapp the time and place to develop a stylish elegance and playful warmth that makes you want to listen up. His direction at the keyboard is straight ahead but he manages to incorporate shadings, shifting moods, and dollops of personal touches. The outing covers classic ballads like Rodgers & Hart's With a Song in My Heart, his own wistful Theme for Margaret -- one of five originals -- and closes with a swinging reading of The Party's Over. His Sweet Lorraine is particularly poignant. Drummer David Laing and bassist Paul Johnston provide a classical trio setting throughout the session, with plenty of sustaining brushwork and accenting to underscore melody and harmonies.-- Irwin Block

We are almost finished and it looks like the CD. is going to be very nice. We have some very lush string arrangements which are quite nice...

More on this in awhile.

My new Cd is finally out!

Yes folks, it's true...it should be in the stores in November. The record label is Elephant Records.

It's been a long haul.....This is my first Cd as trio leader and let me say that it is long overdue. I certainly have learned quite a bit thourgh this whole process.

I am looking forward to getting some airplay and hopefully putting a tour together.

Needless to say..the promo work is a big job .

Gotta go..so much work to do...
