so while browsing the internet as I do from time to time, I found a real interesting article on MSN Money. It was talking about how much money does it take to actually be rich. Like most people, from time to time I worry about money and of course I want to be rich, or at least live comfortable. But at the end of the story they had a link to the Global Rich List. And according to this list, I am in the top 5.99

So I've been making some moves. Tonite, I finished my first paid gig as a DJ. Things went really good. I enjoyed it a lot and will probably in the short future invest in some DJ equipment. I also re-created another rss reader that I plan to incorporate into a new website I am currently building.

This rss reader is actually pulling the rss feed from this blog, it would be kind of redundant to put it here, but it will serve a good purpose on my site, as I like blogging here on myspace, but want to incorporate my feed in my site, so this is my solution.

I would like to give thanks to the tutorial I found @ http://www.thegoldenmean.com/technique/rssReader01.html and all the help the creator gave me, thank you. I found the tutorial extremely helpful and learned a lot from it. If anyone is interested in flash and learning some XML, this is a great start.

My moms would often remind me when I was younger to humbly thyself. She is a real religious woman of god who distilled in all her kids some good values and morals. Although some people (you know who you are) think my morals are f**ked up, that another story. For whatever reason, lately I have been extremely irritable and it seems like everyday I can't get enough sleep, and when I do wake up, I'm always waking up on the wrong side of the bed. But I finally feel a lil better, after reminiscing with an old ponta, cuz one of my old pontas hit me up from waaaaay back when I use to stay in Frisco on here, which was cool.

What also made me feel a lil better was thinking about how my moms would tell me how to humble myself and just deal with things. I think what I'm going through is a real humbling experience, after graduating I expected so much more, instead I'm faced with hella problems, rather than being able to to what I thought I would be doing. But after thinking long and hard, I guess it best for me, what don't kill me will only make me stronger.

So what been going down, a lot of relaxing music for one, so when you stressed, some music I suggest that is calming and relaxing is

(Looks like I spend a lot of time at okayplayer.com huh)

Jaguar Wright - Divorcing Neo to marry Soul

Floetry - Flo'ology

Ginuwine - Back II Da Basics

Glenn Lewis - World Outside My Window

Alicia Keys - Unplugged

Dwele - Some Kinda

Raphael Saadiq - Anything he makes

Goapele - Closer

Amel Larrieux - Bravebird

D'Angelo - VooDoo

John Legend - Get Lifted

Mary J Blige - My Life

Musiq - Both Albums

Stevie Wonder - The Definitive Collection

Those are just a few I been bumping this week. And for anyone interested, I did another article for seaspot.com a few weeks ago, hopefully it will get printed in the magazine, it already on the site, you can read it here. I haven't gotten a chance to pick up a copy, but if you in the Seattle / Tacoma area, mos def pick up a seaspot magazine, check locations here. Let me know what you think of my work, and my musical selection.

What a waste of a weekend, I tried to do a lot, but really got nothing accomplished. I hate the feeling when you try to figure something out and never do. Among other things, one thing I was trying to do and didn't finish was how to write a rss reader in flash, although I already written a rss reader, I'm trying to make this one and incorporate it in a new web page design I have created, and I've hit a real road block.

But the resource I was using has exactly what I needed, although it is very complicated. I have one problem with the code that, I cannot move the rssProxy.php to another location, it makes flash commit some kind of error and I cannot figure out how to correct it.

Thanks to my roommate I've re-design my PC to look just like an apple thanks to these pages, so if your interested I highly suggest you check out the following pages.

Windows to Mac emulation page - everything you need you can find on this page to go from Windows to Mac without switching OS

Konfabulator - Cool widget program that adds flavor to your PC.

RKLauncher - Cool program launcher program.

It been over a month since I blogged, that a good minute for me. Well as always, hella [blank] been poppin off with me, probably the best thing I've did, that was the tightest [blank] to me was going to the Tacoma Urban League annual dinner. Yea it was a very good learning experience about african american history in Tacoma and made me even more want to get invlove in my community.

And the past 3 weeks I started workin out hoopin again, and for the first two, I couldn't even walk. I mean I mean, it was bad at trying to walk around at work, straight pain. That sucked, but I'm cool now and getting back into the swing of things as far as that goes.

And the weather in Washington is hella weak, I mean, it was like 30 degrees today and snowing. . . snowing, what is that all about, Monterey is weak and all, but at least it warm compared to here, that one thing I miss about Cali, the weather.

And in my always never-ending endeavors to learn more about computers I came across a hella tight page about new software and other news called betanews.com. While browsing the page I found a free program called Blender. It tight because it is a 3-D program for free, something like 3-D Studio Max, Swift 3-D and Maya. Well I've been trying to get into 3-D design and what now, and now I've found an open source solution, so that cool, just thought I share that with the world. But I would most def suggest checkin out betanews.com, there are some good finds there, I also just found a program that will overclock my video card, tight!

Words a minute, quicker than a new york minute. Awww how to keep up? Well what up with ya boy Jay Dub. Well I had one hell of a weekend in Canada this weekend. Including topping off with stopping at a casino on the way home, walking in with 30 bucks and walking out with 300 bucks. Now that is a come up. I wanna send a shout out to everyone on the space that shows ya boy love, it really is well appreciated. I been working on these designs for ACT-SO and their brochure. On top of that I've been working overtime this past week and a half, so much that I don't have to work the rest of the week. But nah, gotta get this money so everything after today will be overtime, cha-ching. Okay, so please send feedback about these three designs, I just wanna see what people thing about them, so I would appreciate that after you read my bulletin you come and comment on these designs. Click on images to see full size

Me personally, I don't have a fav design, I guess I've looked at all of them for so long, they all give me the same feeling.

Interesting thoughts (at least I thought so)
I see a lot of people on the space using photobucket. Photobucket isn't that bad, but there are some major drawbacks to photobucket, like banner ads, a montly bandwidth limit (2,500 MB) and they resize your images to at the largest 250 KB, which isn't bad for most people but pretty much sucks.

So I thought it would be nice to share with the 100 plus people that view this blog daily that there is something better that exist. It called Flickr. It great, I have been using it for a long time, and since I have an old account, I actually have an account with Flickr. Since then, I think they been bought by Yahoo!, which could be bad, but the service is still great. There is, from what I know, no monthly bandwidth limits, no banner ads, and although they resize images too, there are at a larger size and better quality. Pictures are sized as big as 1024X768 pixels and I've had photos up to 700KB in size. A huge difference in quality compared to photobucket. You can also do tight stuff like create slideshows that are presented in flash. There is a ton of other features flickr lets you do as well, but I will let you explore the site and find those out for yourself. So what's the verdict, all you myspacers stop using photobucket and go try out flickr, it is well worth it.

Yea I been M.I.A (Missing IN Action) but ya know, I been real busy lately. I need to use my sidekick for more than just tex messages and chattin. That why I took the time out to finally get things organized. Well I guess I would need to because I'm about to start working 10 hr days, which now that I think about it is crazy. Along with getting my life organized, I had to redesign my PC GUI (Graphical User Interface) because what I had just sucked, the Windows GUI sucks, but you can do some okay things to do it to get it up to speed. Me, I love the MAC OS GUI, so I created a Windows Mac cross on my PC, check it out. Click on the link to view the larger picture.

The programs I used to do this was Style XP, Sysmetrix, andRainlendar. Two of the three are free, the only one that cost is Style Xp, but it comes with a 30 day trial. I'm on the trial right now, but I like it for the most part, so I plan on buying it within the next week. You can download all of them at their sites and browse sites like wincustomize.com & customize.org to download different variations to create your own windows feel. I found it to be pretty easy actually, only downfall to me was I could not get Sysmetrix audio controls to work with iTunes, so I had to install Winamp to get it to function correctly. But other than that it is great. F.Y.I, also if you plan on using winamp, I would suggest to use the older 2.xx versions. After that, Winamp starting packing their software with a bunch of junk, so if you can find those older ones, they will do the job just the same.

And music, there has been a lot of new music comeing out, more crap than quality, but if you look, there is some quality out there. Than again, who am I to say who is good and who is not, it is simply my opinion and that it. But I would suggest these two albums, because they are tight. First the new DJ Quick (not Quik, he changed the way he spells it ont he album), Album. Trauma. Not only does the Compton representa bust with some tight flows, he also has a all-star feature line up on the album collaborating with people like Nate Dogg, The Game, AMG, & Wyclef. DJ Quik, to me boast some of the tightest beats, between him and Raphael Saadiq, they come with the smoothest beats I think ever created. Just check out the album, it is mos def worth the time.

Ladies I ain't forgot about you, and neither did Alicia Keys. Her new album, Unplugged, I was just listening (and currently am as I type) and was thinking, wow, this is a live recording. You just don't get that quality of music anymore from all the studio produced music. It nice to hear somone just blow, very refreshing to my musical ears, all I can say is thank you A Keys for holding it down like that. The album is mos def worth anybody time that is a R&B fan.

Iight ya'll I'm out for tonite, that more than enough from me for now!

In my never-ending work-a-holic life, I also volunteer for a NAACP program called ACT-SO, which stands for The Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics. It a really great program for young black kids to get involve in, and if you win in your region, you get a all-expense paid trip to nationals. This year nationals is held in Washington DC, so if you know anyone in high school that might be interested tell them to hit me up or google ACT-SO. Or if your in high school and would like to know more, holla at me. There are like 25 different categories you can compete in so anything you like doing probably can tie into the competition. So I am helping out with the Seattle Region, doing some things here and there and I created this flyer, I wanted to put it up to get some feedback on what people think, I'm going to do a few more designs but this is the first one and I did it really quick so don't kill me with your comments.

My ponta Michelle posted this video in a bulletin and I watched it and said "wow". I ain't gone really comment on the video, but I will said I did get a lil heated watching this video, and as for the Kanye West comment, I can't say I disagree, or I have a reason to disagree. But I'm no politician or even that much informed on politics so I would say that my judgement would not be exactly on point. But I can't go against what the man said. I'm curious to see what one of my friends has to say about this video, he already posted some stuff here (you can find it there whenever he updates his blog, he moves it alot) about Kanye West comment which I found pretty interesting.

I got my first story in for seaspot, it was okay, I liked it for the most part. You can check it out here.

I finally caught the Lil Brother "Lovin It" video. It does air on VH1 Soul Channel (474 out here). All I can say is, I'm "lovin it".

As for web browsing on a PSP, it sucks, but it easy to do. Just download the updated for the PSP, you can get it here. Once you download the update it really easy to configure the PSP to browse the net. Just follow the steps.

I swear you can do everything thru google. Check this link out for all the cool new things going on at google. I personally recommend their free program Picasa. It is a great photo program that does just about everything you can think to do with photos, well not that much but enough for the average user.

Anybody got any suggestions on the new albums they listening too. I been listening to Little Brother lately and this new Nate Dogg and this new Game mixtape I got. But I need something else, any ideas? Hit me up.

Ughhhhhhhhhh. Man so many things I wanna get on here and express, I just don't be having time. Workin, workin workin. But I got a quick minute now so let me say a few things. First, I can't believe what happen to one of my fav groups right now, little brother. I'm not gone give the specifics, just know it crazy what BET did. Read about it here.

On another note, I finally picked up my sidekick. I thought about developing some applications for the sidekick, which is basically ran on an OS (Operating System) that uses Java. That means you can write applications for the sidekick in Java. I found out in the last two days, that I simply don't have the time to learn / write any programs at all. So that was cut short, very short. One thing that really pisses me off about the sidekick is that it does not support JavaScript. And it simply can't, very simply can't. Yes there is a very complicated explanation to this, and it sucks, however it is incapable of using JavaScript. So what does that translate to, that means I cannot blog from my sidekick because freakin myspace uses JavaScript for this blog tool that I am typing in right now. Sucks!!!!! If anybody from Myspace reads this, here is a suggestion, add somewhere where people can blog from their mobile devices. That would be great, I see you finally caught on to setting up a RSS feed for the blogs, months after I posted a tutorial on how to do that. You'd think with all this advertisment you got going on, you would keep up with technology. Well that my blurp on that. On to the next topic.

--sidenote, if you want your rss feed on myspace simply type in
http://blog.myspace.com/blog/rss.cfm?friendID= (your friend id ie. my friend id is 9394182 so my rss feed would be http://blog.myspace.com/blog/rss.cfm?friendID= 9394182 In order to find this number simply go to your own page when you are logged in and in that long string of letters and numbers you will something that says viewprofile&friendID=this is where your friend id will be.

On another note, I just hooked up my friends PSP so that you can download movies to a memory stick duo and watch movies on it. I will probably shortly be posting my second tutorial on how to do that as well as use your PSP to browse the Internet for people that look at this blog.

Speaking of people that look at this blog, I'm very curious to find out who is reading my blog, I am now over 15,000 views, which is pretty impressive for my little blog. I average about 100-150 views a day. WOW!! Hit me up if you do view this blog, I would like to know who's readin!!

There was something else I wanted to comment on, but I don't remember. I guess I'll have to save that for later.

While at work today I was looking at all the new gadgets coming out and thought I would share with you all some of the new stuff we can look forward too. First off, let me say Ipods are taking over. Why you may ask, well first off there is the ipod cell phone due out soon. That right, now you will be able to not only make phone calls but listen to music on your cell phone as well. As well as that, ipod also has a companion in the  Nyko MoviePlayer. This movie player allows you to put movies on your ipod, and then watch them on the Nyko. Pretty cool I think, damn cool! The next best thing to look for, as far as PDA's goes is going to be the new Motorola Q cellphone. Trust me when I say this phone will be able to do it all. And just because I'm getting one, but they are not new, I found a site full of tips for the Sidekick II. If your techie enough to follow, you can do some pretty cool things with the Sidekick. I should be getting mines tomorrow and will probably post anything new I find. Til then, check out this Sidekick Secrets page out, a list full of tips if you can bare to read through the comments.

As I was trying to think of words to say how I have not been blogging in the past month of August, the work Hiatus came to mind. When typed define:hiatus into google (a cool feature google has is that it can work as a dictionary if you type "define:" in front of the word) I got all sort of definitions for the word. I feel it best describes me for my situation with the definition,
"A gap, or interruption in what should be a continuously written line. The writing instrument is lifted from the paper momentarily. The space can be very noticeable or so minute that it can only be detected under a microscope."
If my life was a song, that how the past two months have been, a musical hiatus. There was a interruption in my life at a time where there should have been written lines, words and expressions of life. Instead, there was nothing, I was lifted from my paper momentarily. And the space is very noticeable, in me, in what I do, in how I act and in my life. Then, the symphony started playin again, because lately I've been having a million and one, no a million and six ideas, thoughts and questions runnin thru my head. And things are looking good, I guess I'm going thru the calm after the storm, that bright day after that dark night. Sept looks like a good month, I got a lot of functions to attend, and it my b-day month, and a chance to remember my father, whose birthday was also this month. Well I'm out for now, but I will be posting my thoughts more periodically  now.

I'm making this post today off of a Blackberry 7250, which I am pretty impressed with. This PDA is mos def worth it money, the OS is written in java so not only can you write your own applications, you can also run java and javascript on the internet. I'm not sure if that is possible on other PDA's but it is on this one. So if you can afford a Blackberry, I would say get one, it not the best interface to use but it is simplistic and works well.

So I put a post up yesterday, I thought about some albums I've been listening to, I check my blog today and two are missing, so here I am, when I should be sleep, re-posting! Anyways the two albums missing that are super tyght are. . . .

Slum Village - Prequel to a Classic

One of my favorite groups by far. This mixtape album is  hot to def! A good mix of  beats and lyrics too keep your head bobbin back, back and forth forth (for all you SV fans, ya'l know that cut). Only downfall to me about this album is they should of put the whole song of "Ez Up" on there, featuring Dwele, that song is hot, even tho they only give us a 1 minute clip or something like that.

Little Brother - The Chittlin Circuit 1.5

Surprise album of the year, yes! Well for all you hip-hop fans, you probably wasn't sleepin on Little Brother like the rest of the world. But everyone has heard there sound, cuz their producer is the infamous 9th Wonder, who I am becoming a big fan of. This album is tight, some good listening.

So everyone who is checkin out this blog, and I know it a lot of people, cause I'm averaging 100 views a day so, check out these artist and support underground hip-hop! I got albums for ya'll to check out, next, I'ma take ya'll on a trip thru the bay, with artist like Mistah F.A.B and Turf Talk, them n*gg*$ in the bay is doing da damn thang fa sho!

Alright peeps, it bout 12:10 and I know I should be sleep cause I got to work! So till the next blog, leave some comments, hit me up, and I'll get back to ya'll when I can.
