I hate it how guys assume that just because I'm single, I'm desperate for a guy.  Or that there's something wrong with me because I don't have a boyfriend.  Maybe I like being single?  Thought of that? Hmm?  I'm single because I want to be.  End of story.

So today was a horrible day for me.  I went back to school after I finally recovered enough, and my teacher told me that since I've been absent for 2 1/2 days of class, she had to put me on "probation".   That means that in order to stay in the program, I would not be allowed to miss any more school no matter what.  So even if I got sick again, I'd have to stay in class and endure the pain.  I was willing to put up with it until my teacher saw the note my Doctor wrote which stated "excused from school until 2/4/09". That means that my teacher cannot legally have me in class since he had officially documented it in my medical records....meaning no class until Wednesday! 

I figured that since I would be missing MORE school, then I would fall further behind.  So after my panic attack subsided and I had talked to my mom, sister, and my dad....I had decided to withdraw from the class and go back the next semester.  Luckily, the dean of the school told me that if I let my teacher know in April that I'm going to attend the next semester, then I'll be able to have a guaranteed spot in the Pharm Tech program.  Thank God for small miracles.  I just wish this stupid sickness will be over so I can go on being a normal adult again!  No more doctor visits, no more medication that makes me all dizzy and lethargic, and no more having to worry about what I eat or where I sit in relationship to the distance to the bathroom.

All this worrying, stressing, and stupid emotions are really taking its toll on me.  At least there's a light at the end of the tunnel.  My TSH (thyroid hormones) levels are through the  roof.  Normal range is 0.4-4 uIU/mL and my level came back 5.59uIU/mL, meaning I have hypothyroidism and my thyroid is making too much of the hormone.  Next stop: finding out WHY my thyroid is going wack-o.  I have a Nuclear scan on Wednesday morning and then I have a visit with Physical Medicine, which is a fancy term for alternative thereapies.  So at least I have that going on for me.  It just isn't coming fast enough for me.  I'm still vomiting everything I eat without any warning at all.  I guess it's just one small step for man, one GIANT leap for LORI! I just have to look on the brightside and take things easy for a bit.

How long should one person have to put up with all this vomiting and abdominal pain?  Health care websites and even doctors state that if anyone is vomiting for more than 48 hours to seek medical advice.  Well I've been vomiting up everything I eat for a month and a half and have had chronic pain for over a year and all the doctors seem to do is refer me to departments within Kaiser which takes forever and a day to get in to see the doctor!  Honestly?  No one sees the need for urgency with this problem?  I've had so many pregnancy tests, blood tests, x-rays, CTs, scopes inserted in placed I'd rather stay cleared of anything foreign, AND medications out the ASS and still nothing. 

It's gotten to that point to where I'm afraid of going to sleep in fear of me not waking up to see the next day.  Sure it's melodramatic to think, but that's the only conclusion one's mind comes up with when they've been sick for almost TWO years with a new symptom of persistent vomiting to where I cannot keep ANYTHING down.  Why?!  Why do they not see the urgency to do something to help me out?  I don't want medicine.  In fact, I abhor the need to take so much shit.  I do not like being altered or feeling impaired in any way.  I just wish I was back to normal and not have to constantly worry about what I eat, where I go, or my proximity to the bathroom so I can vomit whatever comes up.  It's tiring and drains all my energy.  Going to school and then to work is all I have energy for.  Any time I have free to myself, I sleep because it is what my body needs.

Why don't the doctors think of that?  Why can't they take in the fact that I'm telling them that I cannot stay in class for a certain amount of time without having to get up to run to the bathroom?  Prescribing anti-nausea medicine is a waste because I don't get the nausea; I just vomit without any real warning.  Vomiting on top of chronic abdominal pain is more than I can deal with.  I'm at my breaking point and am close to shutting down emotionally.  I know I'm pushing people away; I just want to be alone.  I just want to stay in my bed, sleep, and not worry about who is around when I barf.  I know Bryan hates seeing it and I worry that he's going to leave because he feels like he shouldn't have to put up with a seriously ill girlfriend.

I'm just done.  That's all there is to it.  I'm physically and emotionally drained and I don't know how much more I can put up with.  If my CT results come back inconclusive, I'm going to scream my head off.  Throwing a temper tantrum seems like something I deserve to be able to do....it's logical and I need it!
