  I want to start this blog by thanking every single person who has ever supported Across Five Aprils in any way shape or form. If you shared the stage with us, let us sleep on your floor, fed us, came to a show, bought our records, or just thought of us as a cool band. Thank you very much, your support is and was everything.

        I could spend all day on here telling you why A5A is calling it quits but the simple truth is we've all just gotten to a point where we have chosen to move on, and we wouldn't have changed our experience with A5A for anything in the world. A5A got to make some of our biggest dreams come true. We got to play with our favorite bands and we befriended our heroes and had the times of our lives. We have become world travelers visiting and playing in Mexico, Canada, Japan, Mainland Europe, UK, Scandinavia, and every state in the continental 48. It truly has been a wild and amazing ride.And we have gotten to write and perform music that was uncompramized and of our own convictions. We never conformed we never did anything musicaly except exactly what we chose. Thank you once again for letting us have this amazing opportunity.

     While I cant take the time to tell you exactly why this is happening I can take some time and tell you what reasons are not true to dispel some common rumors that some inquiring minds will undoubtedly wish to now. We have not been dropped from VICTORY RECORDS, contrary to what the PRP reported. We are however not a CURRENT ARTIST because we have made the arrangements with VICTORY to disband. We want to thank TONY and VICTORY for their constant support in everything we did. I can also tell you we did not have a knock down drag out fight internally or with any other band. We are all still friends and will continue to stay close for the rest of our lives.

      I would like to thank the following for all the love and support and resources they have given since the conception of A5A: Steve Taylor, Jason Fields, Barry, Drew Miller, Jarrod Smith, Zak Towe, Josh Dycus, Adam Nordmeyer, Steve Wooten, Joe, Tony Brummel, Mat and John at Indianola, Keith and Tyler at Ceerius, Shauncey Fury, Grant Fury, Lisa and Dameon, XmattX, Charlie Rhode, Lina band Mom, all of our Families and friends.

   We will be doing a very short farewell tour in OCTOBER hitting some of our key markets and a final farewell show in CHATTANOOGA, TN where it all started.

APRIL FOOLS!
CHRIS XAVIER ISN'T REAL!!

So, if you've been reading our blogs you might have heard about the dastardly Canadian named Chris Xavier who stole our new record "Life Underwater" and leaked it without our permission. We made two blogs about him and how Victory was out to get him. But what you may have not have heard is that Chris Xavier IS NOT A REAL PERSON.

Yep you heard right- he's not real. Chris was a marketing ploy dreamed up by VICTORY RECORDS and approved by us as a way to get people talking about the new A5A record LIFE UNDERWATER and it worked! Our little fake canadian (and asian at times haha) got us the front page of BUZZGRINDER BUZZNET ABSOLUTE PUNK somewhere in the neighborhood of 3million hits total!

So to those of you who are A5A fans..in a way you were "IN" on the joke. And thanks so much for your support from day 1. We love our fans and do this for us and for them only so again we say thanks.

We're sorry if there's a few of you who feel offended by our ploy...it was all in good fun. To those of you who got all up in arms and rioted in the streets and on our message boards, to you we say...THANK YOU. For making it sucessful and fun. The blogs were highly entertaining and sometimes informative! and for those of you who just can't seem to get the sand out of your vaginas THE JOKES ON YOU!

FOR THE RECORD Across Five Aprils does NOT encourage illegal downloading. IF you haven't bought our record LIFE UNDERWATER please do. It's available in stores everywhere or at VICTORY RECORDS .
That being said we would NEVER encourage a fan to be sued by our label for illegaly downloading it. We may personally ask him to stop, and if he doesn't get pissed but we would never wish them ill will even though bands in the past have done things like that. So once again just to reiterate: CHRIS XAVIER IS NOT REAL. If you're upset that he's make believe ..I'M SORRY ...don't hate the player hate the game.
