Just when I thought I wouldn't be performing for a few months, I got invited to do a couple of my tunes with a great band called Odd Flow, at the Groove, 125 Mac Dougal St, NYC. We're on at 7pm. Odd Flow are made up of all the musicians who played with me at my last show in Brooklyn (last week) plus another awesome guitarist. My bassist, Roberto, is also leaving town for a few months so you get to catch his performance too!!!

See you there :)

Hi Everybody!!!

Thank you so much for your support and brilliant vibes the other night at the Rockwood Music Hall! I had the BEST time ever, and I'm so excited about my upcoming show this week Thursday in Williamsburg, Brooklyn! I've posted some YouTubes from the last show, you can check those out below :)

I'll be leaving the United States for the months of February and March, and may even be away for April, so this will be my last show for a few months! It's all good though because I'll be getting so much inspiration where I am going. For February I'll be studying darbuka in Istanbul, Turkey with a group of drum students. I'm so excited about that! Then for March, we'll be in Egypt for further study. How f@!*ing exciting!!!!!!

So...I won't be performing for a while. This will be a very special show with a new line up in a completely different style to what I have been doing up until now. It's going to be so much fun! Here are the details:

Benefit concert for drumming study trip in Turkey!!

Thursday 8th January 2009
Public Assembly
70 North 6th St. Brooklyn
NY 11211
718-384-4586
www.publicassemblynyc.com

9:00 PM - ADAMA
10:00 PM - Raquy and the Cavemen
11:00 PM - Drum and Dance Jam led by Brian Carter
Bring your drum and join in the fun!

$10 at the door -  (any donations will be greatly appreciated)
Back Room @ Public Assembly

(L train / 1 stop from Manhattan and a short walk from the subway station)

I'll be performing a couple of songs with Raquy and The Cavemen (one vocals, one darbuka). Raquy and The Cavemen totally rock! I will also be performing darbuka with The Messengers that night. If you don't know what a darbuka is, it's an Egyptian tabla/drum, which you hear a lot in Middle Eastern and Turkish music.

BTW, If you play any kind of percussion/drum, then do bring it for a fun jam party at the end :)

Thanks so much and I look forward to seeing you soon!!!...

Saturday 22nd December. Entry is FREE and you can donate whatever you want
if  you  want  to.  Thanks  for your support! You are welcome to visit http://www.adamaworld.com/events for more info.

creative!!!

donations and support. This trip will be a success!! If you would like to

New Drumming Newsletter & Mailing List Coming Soon!

First of all, I know that everybody who signed up to the ADAMA mailing list
did so because they want to be kept in the loop with news regarding my music
and live shows. I am sure that you are not all as crazy about drumming as I
am, so I've decided to create a second mailing list and newsletter for
drumming. So here's the dealio. If you would like to subcribe to my new
upcoming  newsletter  that  talks about my drumming world, email me at
contact@adamaworld.com and ask me to add you.

I'll continue to talk more about drumming in this newsletter, but for all
future ADAMA newsletters, I will stick to creativity/music/performance news
:)

*New Drumming Video*

I have started the beginnings of an online study journal to log my progress
on the drum. If you don't know what it is, as darbuka (or dumbek) is an
Egyptian tabla (drum). Here is a link to my first video upload. My teacher,
Raquy Danziger, is drumming with me in this video:
http://...com/adamadrum

I've posted up a couple more vids on youtube of me performing with Raquy and
The Cavemen, you can check them out at this link:
http://...com/raquyandthecavemen-adama

I've not long come back from a Cavemen tour of almost 3 weeks. I had a blast
with them and we had a lot of laughs in the Cavemobile lol. I loved the
shows!!! I sang on one song in their set and drummed on another. I got to do
all of the darbuka workshops that Raquy taught at most of the cities we
played in. It was awesome fun! I'll post some tour pics soon, with more
videos.

I'm so excited about going on my second drumming retreat at the turn of the
New Year. I went with Raquy to a workshop/retreat up north in the Catskills
last October to study for a whole weekend. The people were beautiful, there
were almost 30 of us. The chef was so damn amazing!!! We took walks in the
woods, picked veggies from the gardens. It was a dream for me. We had a
performance at the end of the retreat, it was so much FUN! I still haven't
uploaded the videos so I will put those up on YouTube soon - first I have to
get past this week as I'm rehearsing and preparing for the shows, our Turkey
trip, etc. If you want to come to the next retreat (Jan 2-5), or know anyone
else  who would love to, you can download the brochure from this link:
http://www.raquy.com/retreat.pdf

tons of great music on it. It's a system where people collectively determine
the price of every song; all songs start free and rise in price up to 98
cents, based on their popularity. Artists can put their music on there
for free [ https://amiestreet.com/user/signup?invite_id=106569%3EAmieStreet.com ], and the more it is downloaded and recommended to friends, the
higher the price goes up for their music. Once each song reaches 98¢, it
doesn't go up any more. Entire albums are going for the price of all songs
combined.

If you use my INVITE LINK [ https://amiestreet.com/user/signup?invite_id=106569%3EAmieStreet.com ] you will get _$5 to spend on music on the site
for  FREE!_   Plus _3 RECS_. RECS are 'recommendations' that you give for
songs on the site to earn more free credits to download more music (I hope

I know that my music is worth the full price, but I wanted to give people
the chance to discover my music at a low price whilst they help support me,
and I'm very excited about it! I hope that you download my album from Aime
Street!!! Please REC my songs and tell your friends!!!

** New Videos Uploaded!**

I got hold of and posted a couple of videos from my last show at The Cutting Room in June. One song is called Delicate Dragon and the other is a cover of Big Love by Fleetwood Mac. Some of you might remember me doing a YouTube of this song a year ago. It was an acoustic version with Danny Dromi on guitar (Danny played guitar on my album).

Delicate Dragon

Big Love

Hope to see you at next week's show and take care!

** Full download of my album 'Delicate Dragon' going for FREE on AmieStreet.com!

I discovered this cool website recently called AmieStreet.com which has tons of great music on it, either for free or at $9.98 per album. It has a system where people collectively determine the price of every song; all songs start free and rise in price up to 98 cents, based on their popularity. Artists can put their music on there for free, and the more it is downloaded and recommended to friends, the higher the price goes up for their music. Once each song reaches 98¢, it doesn't go up any more. Entire albums are going for the price of all songs combined.

So.... I put my album Delicate Dragon on there yesterday afternoon for free without promoting it at all to see what happens. It was only free for one day. It got downloaded a few times and the price is going up and it is currently going for only $1.90 to download the WHOLE album! (This is the price timed at 5:25pm July 18th 08).

And check this out... if you use my INVITE LINK you will get $5 to spend on music on the site for FREE! Plus 3 RECS. RECS are 'recommendations' that you give for songs on the site to earn more free credits to download more music. Take advantage of this whilst it lasts! Download it TODAY before it goes up in price again tomorrow! You'll have more spare change to buy more music on the site!

Now that my album is at a low price, if you REC a song now, you will receive MORE money into your account with each cent that the song you REC'd goes up in price when more people REC the song! How cool is that? So REC it whilst it's cheap and collect the cash :)

I know that my music is worth the full price, but I wanted to give people the chance to discover my music at a low price whilst they help support me, and I'm very excited about it! I hope that you download my album from Aime Street and have a blast with the change!!! Please REC my songs and tell your friends!!!

Spread the word about my album on Aime Street by telling your friends! You can repost this info anywhere you like online, or send an email blast to your friends. I made a copy-and-paste email below for you to use if you like and feel free to edit it however you want :)
