Shot and recorded last fall at the Chan Centre in Vancouver, the Alex Cuba Live in Concert TV special airs Saturday, June 13th at 9 p.m. (PST) on CBC TV in B.C. We expect the show to roll out nationally later this fall. For those outside the broadcast area, all is not lost, you can still listen to the audio mix from the concert on CBC.ca's Canada Live page here.

So the album is beginning to take shape. Co-producer Joby Baker lives in the stunning natural surroundings of West Saanich, just north of Victoria, B.C. It is so quiet all you hear are the birds in the morning. Its a perfect location in which to create a new music project.  The house is a few minutes from the Centre of the Universe - seriously - and the studio is about a 15 minute drive into town. Heather, our publicist (pictured below), came from Vancouver to have a sneak preview of the project. More soon...

No, its not a nickname for Joby's lightning fast fingers on the mixing board. This intrepid arachnid with great taste in music was one of three spiders that popped into the recording session to hear the tunes. Good luck charms surely. During this second session, Alex and Joby have been crafting the album for almost two weeks now. Check the clip below as they discuss the vibe for "Tierra Colora"...
