Christmas Metalsmithing Guild Meeting Monday December 8 at 6:30p.m
Diane Rennies House
Please call me if you need directions and please pass this along to anyone else who would like to join in (I don't have everyone's email addresses). I'll supply wine, soda, beer, iced tea, coffee, juices, paper plates, napkins, cups and utensils if you all bring some yummy munchies.
During the last meeting at Tamara Prudhomme's house, we brought paper and pencil and had a design brainstorming session. The idea of this was to get us thinking creatively and hopefully lead to new jewelry designs. We used the word "Serene" and everyone drew their idea of what serenity looked like. It was great fun and very interesting to see what each of us designed. We decided to submit our drawings to Jewelry Artist magazine for publication.
So for our December meeting we decided to do this little exercise again and we will play our second annual "Dirty Santa" Game. Those who wish to participate should bring a wrapped gift of less than $20 value. Some ideas for gifts: jewelry tools, perhaps a piece of jewelry that you made, gemstones, jewelry related books, beads, crystals, etc. This is a game that is super fun, with lots of surprises and laughter.
Diana Keenan has been in contact with Dan Murray and he has agreed to come to our January gathering. Dan is a photographer and will be giving us hints about how to photograph jewelry. Diana has volunteered to have the January meeting at her house.
We still need one or two people to make the commitment to join our booth for the Christmas Market. Please let me know ASAP if you would like to participate. The cost is only $26.66! We'll try to get together soon to finalize the plans for this event. Additionally, I just received word from the chairperson of the Christmas Market that they did not get enough vendors to sign up to cover the cost of a three day event, so they have asked us to agree to only a two day event on Dec 13 and 14. I made the assumption that everyone would still want to participate so I responded positively to this change.Looking forward to seeing everyone and some holiday cheer and fun,
Diane
