Nat King Cole has inspired generations of musicians and fans with his dignity, his class, his poise – and throughout it all – his voice. In a continued effort to pay tribute to Cole, on March 10th of 2009, EMI/Capitol Records is set to release RE:GENERATIONS, a groundbreaking album that for the first time pairs some of today's most creative and commercial artists with Nat King Cole, offering them an opportunity to tip their hats to Nat by virtually joining him in the studio to record an entirely new record for today's market. These artists/producers have created tracks that transcend time and space by incorporating Nat's vocals with their own musical stylings and personal aesthetics. As musical architecture, this album constructs a bridge between generations, between cultures and races. It is an album that offers these musicians an opportunity to tip their hats to Nat by virtually joining him in the studio to record an entirely new record.
The album is set to feature Stephen & Damian Marley, Amp Fiddler, Cee-Lo, Nas & Salaam Remi, The Roots, TV On The Radio, Brazilian Girls, Bebel Gilberto & Michaelangelo L'Acqua, Just Blaze, Izza Kizza & Souldiggaz, Cut Chemist, Bitter:Sweet, will.i.am, and of course, his daughter Natalie Cole.

THIS AUTUMN WILL SEE THE RELEASE OF A COLLABORATIVE ALBUM BETWEEN AMP AND JAMAICAN REGGAE LEGENDS SLY AND ROBBIE A new series from the Strut label, Inspiration Information brings together current artists and producers with their musical heroes for a mouth-watering one-off collaboration. "This is monumental for me" says Amp. "I discovered Sly & Robbie through their Compass Point productions with Wally Badarou, all the Grace Jones records, 'Boops' too. I loved the way they experimented with a more ambient direction." The album was recorded at Anchor Studios in Kingston, Jamaica during Amp's recent trip there, and will be released in October. The result is a confident, laid back set that brings a whole new twist to Amp's trademark vocal style: Sly builds innovative digital and live rhythms, Robbie underpins the tracks with solid bass foundations and original generation guests "Sticky" Thompson (percussion) and Dalton Browne (guitar) add plenty of colour. Amp will be over in Europe this Autumn to promote the album, before returning to Detroit to put the finishing touches to his next solo album, set for release in early 2009. Keep checking Amp's website and myspace page for exclusive previews of tracks from the album in the coming weeks. WANNA BE A PART OF AMP'S STREET TEAM?
