A Testimony of Life – “Your Choice” It takes going through trials in your life to realize that you aren’t the one who has it the worst. No one has it the worst, no matter how bad it is. Some people live off of words, others live off of hope. For me, I live off of love and the positivity that I have had to surround my life with. Without positive people, positive outlooks, and positive goals and dreams in life, I am nothing. It took time to get here, and it’s still an everyday struggle, but I’m doing it. I’m making it better, because it’s my choice. I am nothing without my parents, my relationships, my friends, and even those people who come and go in your life. I couldn’t be anything without EVERY possible thing that has happened in my life. We live on a plan, something that someone way out of our reach (physically, but not emotionally) has created for us. We can make changes along the way, but are those truly the right ones? When they aren’t the right changes, we see the result of it, sometimes causing heartache or just simply a laugh, a kind of laugh-it-off type of thing. So we should take it, learn from it, turn it into a positive thing and move on. In the last few weeks, I have realized that I am not the only one who hits rock bottom. Matter of fact, I have seen people hit it just as hard and even people I don’t know personally just in the last couple of weeks. It makes me see that there is corruption all around me, and it could be all around everyone else just as well. However, it takes courage, strength, faith, hope, and dedication to stay on top of the corruption. Why should we let ourselves drown in it? You have to remember this life is only truly given to us once. If we live it wanting to end it, then that’s the only life you have to waste. Through the years, everyone thinks at some point that they’ve wasted a day, a week, a month, or even years of their lives. The problem with that is, what are they doing to change it? You can control how your life goes. Horrible or bad things don’t happen to people because of everything else. It’s where you put yourselves and what situations you allow to happen around you. Right now, I am moving past thoughts of corruption and things that could have ruined me, or taken me completely. Maybe not everyone goes through it, but for those who do, I want to encourage the truth – and that is that our lives were gifted to us and we shouldn’t throw them away. The reason for the trials in our life is to bring us up higher, stronger, and to prepare us for anything. You should think of yourself as a gem. You are something that everyone loves, wants, needs, and desires. No matter what you think. The first thing that helped me climb out of the very bottom was to realize that I only have one life and it’s MY choice to make things happen for myself. I can choose positivity or negativity. I can choose losing or winning. I can choose to have everything or nothing. In my eyes, I have God to help me along and guide me, and I truly believe in that. The only thing I need to keep doing is allowing Him to take my hand. Take your positive choices and run with them. Take the straight road instead of a winding one. Put yourself in situations that better yourself and help you climb up the ladder of life. It’s you that you could change, and when you take steps in doing positive things for yourself, you’ll find that everything else around you is also positive. And at the point when it’s not, it seems so small that you can just laugh it off.

Okay so I finally put a silly karaoke recording on here of me... and I chose "Power of Love" as my first track to upload. Tell me whatcha think. Hey, don't knock it too much cause I already know it's rough. :) lmao Nah, you can knock it all you want. It sucks! Well, only half of it. Give me some credit, dammit. :)
Much love, *Angelle*

Hey! I know it's been 2 weeks since I blogged about anything, but I haven't had much to report until now.
This weekend is going to be exciting for Alan and I. We're marking our 1st year Anniversary as a couple, and we're celebrating it by going to the coast on Saturday for the day (Port Aransas island an hour off the shores of Texas in the Gulf of Mexico), then we'll dine in on the coast at a nice restaurant down there. I can't wait to put my toes in the sand again!
On Sunday, we'll spend our day with each other back in San Antonio and that evening, we'll hopefully hit the Riverwalk, dine in along the Riverwalk as well, and then we're planning on taking the horse carriage around downtown. We'll definitely get some photos! No doubt about that. :)
My main focus is the beach again, because that brings back memories from around September last year when Alan and I went to the coast. I've never been to the coast before that, and it was just so beautiful and relaxing. You can tell by now that me and beaches get along. :) One of my dreams is to have a beach house, and I am not sure which beach yet, since I haven't been to a handful yet, but we'll see. :)
Alan should get rich quick, shouldn't he? I got big dreams. LOL Nah, I always tease him about that. He wonders why I don't leave him for a rich man.... because as Mariah said in one of her songs, "his bankroll can run out". Haha.
Anyway, enough nerdy-ness. I'll leave it here and when I get back, I'll post plenty of details and I should be online to post status messages often at least. I'll keep you updated that way... only if you care to know. :) =P
Alright, well it's back to work. :) Thanks for reading my silly notes...

Hey! Well you probably think the GREAT news is something bigger than it truly is, but hey, it's still GREAT. :)
So basically... guess what? I GOT A JOB. lol This time I think it's legit and I think it is going to be a fun keeper. I will be an Administrative Assistant, working those nice 8 to 5, Monday through Friday type of hours. Looking forward to it, for sure!
The cool thing is, I just had an interview yesterday (Wednesday June 3rd) and only 3 HOURS after my interview, they called me and told me that I got the job! In my whole work history life, I have never been called back that quick! Well, I know it's my personality that got them. I made them laugh and was just myself. I am never 100% serious and I am laid back... heck, you guys know me... why I am even going on about that? LOL
Moving on. I will be happy working in the clerical field again, even though I got so used to being at home... and now my cleaning days will either be changed to Saturday or still Friday, just not until the evenings.
Another great thing about this job is that it's only 10 minutes away from where I live, which makes me extremely happy considering I am so used to driving 20-40 miles to work, and hey, that's what happens when you live in a big city! :)
Anyway, wish me the best! I am sure I will fit right in! Thanks for pulling for me this whole time I've been unemployed. It's been a nice LONG vacation, but now it's back to working, and being thankful for a job, which is GREAT!
Much love! :)

Current mood: accomplished
Hey all!
So, I know those of you who have been wondering about the auditions
really want to know what all went on and how it went, so here's the
details, and in a nutshell from beginning to end.
Yesterday morning, we were on the road by 4am to make sure we were
there before the audition time, which was 8am. I didn't know what to
expect completely this year because of it being Houston instead of
Dallas (I tried out for AGT last year in Dallas, and it was a lot more
organized and QUICK than this year).
Basically, we got in line by 7:30am, and by the pictures in my new
album, "America's Got Talent", you will be able to see how long the
line was in front of us, and behind us. Except, in front of us actually
also wrapped around the other side of the building, where there was
another line about the same amount as what you saw in front of us.
Definitely reminded me a lot like American Idol, but I wasn't
discouraged yet. We only had to wait outside about 30-45 minutes, and
then we had to wait in a holding room for the remaining 7-8 hours. YEP.
I started wanting to leave and getting discouraged around 2pm. I was
thinking that if they hadn't started calling the people to audition
close to our numbers by 5pm, then I was going to consider leaving.
Well, Javier (my guitarist) had never experienced an audition like this
before and didn't like the wait either, but helped me keep my spirits
up. 7pm rolls around, and that's when it gets tough. But, before I move
on to that, I will say that we met some really cool people, and that
made some of it really worth it.
So when 7pm rolls around, I start getting a really yucky headache, and
I knew it was from exhaustion and not eating yet, but I held in there.
We all told each other that if we hadn't auditioned or was getting very
close to auditioning by 8pm, we were just going to call it an end and
leave, since we still had a 3 hour drive back to SA ahead of us.
Well, we stuck it out, and at 7:40pm, they called "Angelle Sanford"
into the audition room. Of course, there were more rooms than just one
to audition in, so people were getting called in from several hallways.
We got lined up against this one room, and we auditioned about a minute
and 40 seconds of a song we had prepared.
We did "Fallin" by Alicia Keys in our own acoustic version. You'll have
to hear the recorded version, which will be posted on my MUSIC MYSPACE as soon as we get a good recording of it. We thought we had a good one, but it was distorted in some parts. But anyway, we actually did very well, and even did the
song a little "different" than we'd rehearsed, but you know, nerves
will make you do silly things, but... it still sounded like a good and
completed song and we didn't actually sound like we messed up, which
was good - we just did a verse in more of an uptempo, but I loved it!
It got me into the song more and I was PERFORMING and really having a
nice stage presence, I thought! :) So anyway, it was a lot of fun and I
am glad we auditioned.
If we make it to the next round, they will be calling us in 48 hours.
If we don't, at least we got to experience it. Either way, we did it,
went through the long awaiting audition and made it through all of
that. Whew... what a day!
I also have to say that we met some interesting people - many
look-a-likes, like Chaka Khan (male, but really could do drag
apparently, lol), and then there were about 4 Elvis's, one that looked
more like Roy Orbison lol, and then there were like 2 Santa's (yes,
Santa Claus), and you can't forget Michael Jackson (he looked 95% like
him and was very talented), and also a Robot guy - he was tall, dressed
in silver and black, wore silver and black shades, and had silver
gloves and silver face paint on, and could move like a robot VERY well.
Very interesting. We saw some of the acts before their auditions and
let me tell you, if you watch the show, you will probably see some of
these!
Well, this got a lot longer than what I thought it would. So, I'll end
it here, but definitely make sure you check out the photos!
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO WISHED US LUCK, HOPED FOR THE BEST FOR US,
AND SUPPORTED US IN EVERY WAY! I truly didn't want to leave yesterday
so I wouldn't have to report that I just gave up on trying... so I am
glad I didn't! Thank you to Javier and Alan for keeping me focused!
Much love always! *Angelle*

Hey everyone! Just wanted to post a quick blog to talk about Tuesday night's performance at Casbeer's in downtown San Antonio. Javier and I both prepared after several rehearsals that week, which definitely paid off for us. With a little bit of worry in the back of our minds, we thought we would mess up, but we didn't! We both let loose on stage, became really into what we were performing and felt like we really did ourselves some justice. Of course, I think that I could have done a few notes a little better here and there, and I am glad I think that. It makes me better the next time, and the next. :) I hope... lol Anyway, I just posted 4 new videos, and this would be the FIRST time that ANY of our songs would be available from beginning to end, so you will be able to hear the FULL LENGTH tracks. You can view them through my videos here on MySpace, or you can see them also on YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/missnndependent. As of later today, the videos will also be featured on my website, which is newly designed as of last month, and it's http://www.angellesanford.com. Thank you all for being patient with me, as it took me 2 days to get these up and everything. Been kind of a busy week for me. It's dying down now. :) Comment on the videos or just send me a message. I want your thoughts and opinions on our songs since it's the first time any of them have been released in FULL lengths! Thank you again! MUCH love, *Angelle*

Hello everyone. I am posting a blog because I wanted to ask EVERYONE to pray for some people in my life whom I have seen deal with some hardships lately and I feel like I should really try and do my part to help as much as I can.
Please pray for Bobbie, Nicole, and their families as well as the families of the dear friend in which they have lost this week.
Please pray for Mary Jo and her family, including her son Michael, as she is currently in the hospital with pneumonia, which is because of her emphysema making it easier to attack her lungs.
Please keep praying for my father as well. He's doing much better, getting his voice back (he had a tumor on his vocal chord), and I ask for continued prayer for continued recovery.
Thank you for your time in reading this. I really feel like I can't do much or be there for these people in my life, especially as much as I would like to be, and this blog is dedicated to all of them who are hurting physically and emotionally.
Sincerely,
Angelle

Hey everyone,
If you've noticed my status messages asking for prayer for my father, it's because he told me a couple of days ago that he had throat cancer. My father has never had cancer, and this was a first for him, and he's also had it longer than I thought - he just didn't want to worry anyone and held out to tell anyone.
He told me that he had cancer in his throat, around his tonsils, which had originally spread to them from a tumor he had that was malignant on his throat. The doctors actually removed the tumor, and part of his vocal chord. He's on vocal rest right now.
Well this morning, I received good news from my father, and exactly what he got from the doctor. He said that the tumors removed from his tonsils were benign. The cancer removed from his vocal cord was Squamous cell carcinoma. It was malignant. That is why he removed it and part of his vocal cord. It appears that he got it all for now. He did state that they will have to watch very closely because it only takes a single cell to start things up again.
The doctor believes he got it before it spread anywhere else. They will be doing checkups quite frequently to make sure of that. My father's doctor also stated that usually the tonsils and lungs are the primary target for this type of cancer and it shows up there first before it migrates through the lymph nodes to other parts of the body.
So, thank you for EVERYONE who prayed for him. I will keep you all updated on things. It's so good to hear that he is doing better, doesn't have this stress on him now, and it's all out of his system. I will continue to pray that it STAYS away!
Thank you again for all of your prayers and concerns. They have helped me stay strong for my father, which I know is want he wants.
Much love, *Angelle*
