Dear friends, It's been quite quiet around Angels & Agony, besides the occasional show we did in 2009. Yes, A&A still exists! Yes, a new album is coming up, probably for 2010. Our official www.angelsandagony.com site, however, suffers from some server related issues. The contract with the previous provider ended, and, accordingly, we could choose what to do: terminate the site OR move it to another host. Needless to say, we chose to move the site. That was in June 2009. In 2009, it seems very hard to ghet things like this done. A&A had to confirm 18 (!!!) times that we wanted to move the site elsewhere. At this moment in time, our request is pending. We have no idea when the site will be available to us (and you!) again. Waiting.... Furthermore, there have been some other changes. Originally, A&A was the solo project of me, Reinier. Over the years it developed to the quartet you probably know. Due to various circumstances, mostly job and/or time-management related, A&A has been brought back to just, well, me. For future live shows, it could very well be that the four piece band will be on stage. Maybe, other live performance members combinations are possible. And now we've addressed live shows: A&A will play no live shows until after the new album has been released. So, A&A is still very alive and kicking. But I do need some (more) time to work on the new album. And to see how the future of A&A could develop. For now, I sincerely thank you for your support so far. I do hope you want to support A&A in the future as well. Love & Light, Reinier

Hi everyone!
As you may have noticed, I've uploaded 3 songs from the upcoming album. 1.Forward (album version) 2.Wreckage 3.Forward (Club Mix by Construggle Test) All songs contain an occasional -blank- to prevent unauthorized copying and so on, as you hopefully understand.
All parts of the production process have been completed, except for the actual pressing of the album. We have a lot of ideas going on regarding release-parties and -shows, we'll keep you informed! Enjoy the songs so far!
Reinier

Current mood: working
The waiting has almost finished! Release date of our upcoming album Unison has been set for end of January, start February. Partly because Out Of Line has a very busy release schedule going on, and partly because December is known for not being good for releasing albums, except with Christmas Carols. Meanwhile, some DJ/Club promo's have been sent out by the label, so when the album hits the streets, people know at least two songs, Forward and Wreckage. John Fryer did a marvelous mixing job, the songs sound very big and, if I dare say, 'rocky' in a electronic way. I'm very happy with it, can't wait until it comes back from the mastering. I hope you'll like it too!
Love & Light

Hi, dear and patient friends,
Well....the recordings of our upcoming album 'Unison' have been completed! It all was a tad delayed because of people setting fire beneath Mitch's home, ruining his studio. As you may or may not know, Mitch is collaborating with A&A on our new album. But now his studio is up & running again, and he did complete his work for the album.
Some more good news: Out Of Line arranged the renowned producer and mixer John Fryer to do the mixing of 'Unison'. Fryer is well-known in the music business, as he worked with bands as Depeche Mode, NIN, Him, This Mortal Coil, Fad Gadget. Needless to mention that we're very proud!
There will be about 13 songs on 'Unison. In random order (except for intro and outro, obviously ;-) ): Emersion, Forward, Watchers, Secrets, Walk On Stars, Transit, Systems, Traveller, Euphoria, Unison, Inner Light, Lethargy/Rise, Immersion.
We'll keep you posted about a release date.
If all our MySpace friends would buy the album, I think our label would love us even more!... ;-)
See ya,
Reinier

Well... first of all: thanks for all those nice comments and friend requests that are coming in very frequently! It's hugely appreciated, really!
At the moment, we're working on new songs, as most of the time. Since I wanted the upcoming album 'Unison' to be a little bit more accessible (NOT:commercial) and danceable (always a good thing), our band member and manager Marco asked log time friend Mitch Langeveld to do some additional production. He's been busy in the ebm music for years, and knows just how to give things an extra punch. He came over to my studio and we talked and listened to our new ideas and demos. Basically, Mitch and I just swap files (mostly through cyberspace) and work on that in our own respective studios, and then see what happens. A few songs are already more or less finished, I'm very happy with our collaboration!
In between we did a show in Vlissingen, at the Terra Gotha festival (check out some pics at www.terra-gotha.com) which was a success. We agreed on not playing too much shows until the new album has been finished.Otherwise, people might get bored ;-)
Good for me: a week ago, I picked up a brand new Mac G5 Dual 2.0 that I use for my music production. My previous eMac was still good, but slow on important moments. This G5 machine is so fast, it does everything I ask without even a hiccup whatsoever. Since I use quite some audio files and (software synthesizer) plug-ins in Logic Pro 7, I'm amazed what it can do. I'm sure I haven't scratched the surface of its possibilities yet. Sorry if I seem a little overboard; I just love the machine...:-)
I asked our label manager what he had planned for us next year, regarding releases and so. I'll keep you posted.
Furthermore, we do get a lot of requests if Angels & Agony are coming to the US. We are willing, but it seems that a lot of promoters can't seem to get the thing done. Either funds are a problem (our travelling party is 6 persons) or there doesn't sem to be enough interest at the venues end or whatever reason. So, if you really want us to play in the US, keep asking your (local) promoters over and over.
Till soon, I promise! Love & LIght,
Reinier

...many days have gone by since my last post...
Meanwhile, we were working on a new live set for our upcoming show. I've been re-mastering our live instrumentals (come on, we're an electronic band, don't look so surprised! ;-) ) and we've been rehearsing on a very regular basis. Also, I made a new song which is momentarily called 'Systems'. We try to incorporate this track in our live set to see if it works out well.
I must say that I'm really very pleased with the attention for Angels & Agony here, for which I'm genuinly thankful. If I don't reply to your post within sociallly acceptable limits, I'm really sorry, but I'll get there eventually :-)
When we've played 'Systems'and it seems to be okay, I'll post a snippet here.
For now, be well!

...besides checking the myspace.com site regularly, I do have to work now & then. Currently, I'm working on two new songs, working titles 'Fallen' and 'Fortune'. No, I'm not making my way through the dictionairy, it's just...er...coincidental. Of course, it's not just these two songs I'm working on, but these seem to evolve a little bit faster than some others.
Also, I've been preparing for our upcoming show in Berlin at February 26. Programming the live set, programming new synth sounds for live use and so on.
Our live drummer Fried is working on a custom made keyboard stand. If time permits, he'll make a mic stand for me too. Hopefully he'll find enough time to deliver both.
Tonight we're going to rehearse for the upcoming show. Since I've got a cold, we'll see what happens ;-)

...I'm losing my virginity here. This is, besides our own website (which I don't make, just update) my first cautious step in cyberspace. Yesterday I've signed up for this blog, and indeed, now I must add friends and so on. Strange, to ask others if they want to be my friends. Although I'm very approachable and sociable to some point, I have to learn how this game is played. We'll see from here!!
