What an honor.
I can't believe that I do what I do. I make people laugh for a living. I would never have thought that this is what I would be doing. I just kind of fell into it and here I am being named one of Entertainment Weekly's Next Big Comedians. How cool is that!? I booked a pilot for TBS!

I'm really excited about this new project. (It's untitled right now)
(a pilot is the first episode of a t.v show. The show has to get "picked up" before it actually airs on t.v) I'll let you know if and when we get "picked up" We start shooting in September which means that i have to reschedule a bunch of my tour dates, but it will all work out. I was recently nominated for an NCLR (National Council of La Raza) ALMA award. I was nominated in the "Outstanding performance by a female in a comedy series" category for my work on MADtv. The Award show took place this past Sunday (8/17/08) and it will air on Sept 12th 2008. No need to hold your breath, i'll just tell you I did not win in my category but it was such an honor just to be nominated. Seriously, i always thought that was just some cliche thing to say, but it's so true! What an honor to be standing there amongst such amazing talented people. I feel so blessed when i think about how far i have come in this past year. God is so good. I can't believe i get to do what i do for a living. Anytime i start to let those lies creep into my head that I'm not enough of this, or i need more of that or just start to doubt God's plan for my life, I just look back through my journal and remember how God has surprised me time and time again and blessed me beyond i could ever think or imagine. I know this is just the beginning for me. As i grow in my career, i grow in my relationship with God. I'm sure to make some mistakes in both areas, but what matters is that when I fall or slip up I'm still on a strong foundation; Ready to get back up and try again. I'm looking forward to many more surprises along this journey. Thank you all so much for your love and support!

For those of you that do not know, I am no longer on MADtv. After the writers strike there were some budget cuts, and by budget cuts I mean "me". hahaha. But seriously, I had a lot of fun on the show. It was a learning experience and I met a lot of really cool people. I completed my 4 episodes and I was blessed with the opportunity to introduce my own character, "Bon Qui Qui". Bon Qui Qui has become a hit on You Tube and that is thanks to all of you! I had so much fun writing and staring in this sketch. I guess if you want air time you gotta write it yourself! ;-) I'm looking forward to what God has in store for me next. I'm sure it's something amazing. Right now I am touring with my stand up comedy and I'm having the best time. I'll update you all as soon as I have something in the works. Ugly Betty is my favorite show on t.v right now. I didn't have time to watch the season premiere on thursday so I Tvo'ed it and just finished watching it. I am Sooooo sad right now! I can't believe that freaking Santos really died! uugh. Well I actually can believe it because I saw that Kevin Alejandro who plays Santos is now on the show Shark on CBS... so i kinda figured...but the way the writers delivered the punch was great! I cried, rewound it, watched it again and cried again. Kudos to the writers of Ugly Betty!

SHEOOOOOW!!!

Sooooooo here's the story....

once upon a time, my agent sent me on this audition for MADtv... I got a call back...and then another one...and then another one...and the next thing you know, I booked it! sheeoooow!

So here is the 411 on what I know thus far. I am picked up for 4 episodes. After that they have the option to pick me up for more episodes and I have the option to accept or decline....

All I know is that God is good and I am truly blessed with this opportunity. I have been praying and seeking God for His will to be done in my life. Not only seeking Him for that but simply, just to seek Him... to know Him more. I am so happy about all the great things that are happening in my career and in my life right now. God has opened some amazing doors for me. I am truly walking in His favor. I am confident that these opened doors and amazing opportunities are from God; however, I am more confident in the fact that the source of my Joy is God himself. All of these things make me happy, but God is the only one who can truly fulfill any longing in my heart. Jobs will come and go, money will come and go, men will come and go… all of these things can bring you temporary happiness but true joy can only come from Him. Jesus said "These things I say to you that my joy may remain in you and that your joy may be full."

I put all my trust and confidence in Him and I know that He knows what's best for me…(He knows what he's doing ;-))

I forgot to tell ya'll that I booked a national Dryers Ice Cream commercial! yeah!! It's part of an American Idol campaign so it shooould be airing through out the whole season. (hopefully) I am doing a goofy dance with my on-screen room-mates. This goofy dance was choreographed by none other than Mr. Michael Rooney himself. So look out for that when American Idol starts up again. Thanks for the support everyone!

Hey everyone!

I'm excited to say that I just finished shooting my very first role in a feature film...real film. hahaha. God has blessed me with opportunities to be in music videos, commercials, t.v shows and now a film. I am so thankful that God is doing so many things in my life right now. Most importantly, my relationship with God is at a level that I have never experienced. It's a growing process, my walk with God. I understand that I am so far from being perfect and I never will be. But I have come to realize that life is not about trying to be perfect and never messing up. It's really about loving and worshiping God. Being in constant cmmunication with God. I have taken my  "down time" (no auditions, jobs) and turned it into my "pursuit of growth time." My hearts cry has been, "Lord I want to love you more. Give me a heart that is capable of loving you. I need more of you in my life. less of me. more more more of you. You are the only one that can truely satisfy me. I just want to do what you want me to do. Uproot any selfishness in my heart. USE ME."

I know that as far as my career goes, this is only the begining. God is about to open some doors for me. I truely believe that I was destined to be flourishing in the entertainment industry and  it's only  a matter of time. well the time is now. SO I just thank you right now God for what you are doing in me and through me. For what you are doing in the entertaiment industry. I'm thankful that I am a part of it. I thank you for the "shift" in the entertainment industry that is taking place. Thank you for the favor that is on my life. And I thank you for opening doors in the entertainment indistry for all of those who are willing to stand for you. I love you.
