If you haven't already heard, Latoya's seen her opportunity to get up and grab the limelight - she's claiming (but not to police) that her brother was murdered! According to sources:
"Less than a month ago, I said I thought Michael was going to die before the London shows because he was surrounded by people who didn’t have his best interests at heart," says Jackson's sister. "I believe Michael was murdered, I felt that from the start. Not just one person was involved, rather it was a conspiracy of people," she speculates. Verrrrrry interesting! And sad! I guess she needed a career lift and saw an opportunity.

Toronto Mayor David Miller went on CNN last night to defend the cleanliness of the city of Toronto as 24,000 civic workers are on strike halting garbage collection. The city has set up temporary dump sites and residents are becoming frustrated that their garbage is not being collected and temporary dumps are showing up in their neighbourhood.
So we ask you, what is the cleanest city in Canada? When the environment or public health is in jeopardy should these civic workers be forced back to work?

A small Australian town has made headlines for banning bottled water for the sake of the environment. All town folk must revert to tap water.
To keep our beautiful country pristine is it time for Canada to take similar action and ban bottled water?
How would we do it?

the U.S., Russia, Japan, Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany and
Italy might consider further spending and tax measures to stimulate
economic activity despite the significant risks facing the major industrialized countries. How confident are you in not only our government but the governments of the other leading countries around the world to get these tough times behind us? Do you think there is anything that anyone can do to fix it or is it more of a waiting game? Give us your thoughts!

This just in from Yahoo Canada - For the third time in four days, soldiers gathered at Kandahar Airfield Tuesday for a sad farewell ceremony for two comrades killed in an as-yet unexplained helicopter crash.
Once again, hundreds of troops stood in solemn salute as military pallbearers carried the caskets of Master Cpl. Pat Audet and Cpl. Martin Joannette past them to an awaiting transport plane bound for Canada and home.
"It's painful to realize how precious and fragile human life is," Padre Martine Belanger told the early-evening ramp ceremony.
It's been a very sad day indeed...

This just in from Canada.com: 'Michael Jackson fans began crowding into downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday for a star-packed public memorial to the "King of Pop" whose sudden death nearly two weeks ago shocked the world.
Pop music singers Mariah Carey, Usher and Jennifer Hudson will mix with R&B veterans Smokey Robinson, Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder while sports stars like Kobe Bryant and other celebrities were also expected at the event.
Some 18,000 fans and friends will crowd into the Staples Center sports arena and a nearby, overflow theater for the two-hour ceremony memorializing Jackson, who died June 25 after suffering cardiac arrest in his Los Angeles mansion.
Police estimate more than 250,000 people will fill the sidewalks outside the arena to pay their final respect to the "Thriller" singer and one-time member of Motown legends the Jackson 5, who was 50 years-old when he died.'
Do you know anyone who's attending today's ceremony? Would you attend if given the opportunity?

Wes Finally Gets the Boot! (thank you Jillian!)
I have to say, I'm gonna be pretty sad when this season of The Bachelorette is over. There has been drama and stupidity like no other this time around, and it has brought us one of the most hated Bachelor potentials of all time - Mr. Wes himself. And what of this 'Laurel' person who keeps getting free publicity? Is she with him, or isn't she? Apparently, she was just as shocked to here Jill say her name last night as the rest of us. According to People: 'I was like, ‘What?’” Laurel, 29, tells PEOPLE. “There was this pause before he said my name — and then he said it quite a few times.” But Laurel, who owns the Peach Body Boutique in Austin, would like to clear the air. Although she dated Wes for three years, she says their relationship turned to friendship a year ago. “I’m absolutely not with Wes, nor would I be with Wes if he were going on a show to be with another girl,” she says. “That’s absolutely crazy.” - read more here - http://tvwatch.people.com/category/the-bachelorette/ So now we're down to three good guys (in my opinion)...I'd love to see Reid be the one...or Ed...ok, even Kiptin's a good choice. What drama could possibly be next? Share your thoughts on last night's episode...

OK folks, I am super pumped to watch another great installment of The Bachelorette tonight, but all this Bachelorette buzz has got me wondering...can these shows actually help 'real folks' find what they're looking for? I came across an article on People this morning - about the last Bachelor, 'Jason' (the one who rejected our current Canadian Bachelorette, Jillian - that talks about how his love with 2nd runner up (come first) Molly is working out really well) - http://tvwatch.people.com/2009/07/02/bachelor-jason-molly-and-i-will-absolutely-someday-get-married/. I'm not sure I buy it. It seems that at least 80% of all of these types of 'relationshippy' reality shows end in a very quiet breakup. Tell us what you think? Is there really a chance for these things to lead to a long lasting relationship or even marriage? Will Jason and #2 keep the love going? Will Jillian ever wake up and see 'Wes' for the idiot he is? Perhaps I'm jaded....

Is it just me, or is anyone else getting a little tired of seeing Michael Jackson EVERYWHERE on the news? Please don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan and all...I think the man was incredibly gifted, but there are other important things going on in the world still... Are you feeling like MJ is getting a little over-saturated in the news these days?
