I'm not kidding, this has gotta be one of the coolest things I've added to Artopium yet. It's social networking on steroids. Want to get started? Simply go to your Artopium profile page and click on the share button in the "Link to this page" box. Your profile page has this button and so does every buy now page for all of your Creative Works, so you can either share your artist bio or each of your creative works individually. Done adding your art, music, fashion, film or book content to all those cool social bookmarking and social shopping sites? Now go add some other artists on Artopium using their share buttons. Tell them what you did and ask them to return the favor. Now you're getting somewhere!

Let me just say, first of all, thank you for being my friend. Whether I friended you, or you friended me, doesn't matter anymore, because here we are, friends.

But, just why ARE we friends?

Could you imagine that we might get along so well? And I must say, although I may not have had a chance to witness it personally, I do enjoy the work you do, and I hope that I can impress upon you the importance your work has on the world. I also hope to share with you the benefit of being an Artopium Artist Member and sharing your art, music, fashion, film or book with the world at large.

I have over 5000 friends on this MySpace page (and growing rapidly every day) yet there are currently only around 800 of you who have joined Artopium. Since a lot of you have taken the effort to friend me, message me, post comments, blogs and such, about your work, I'm sure you are interested in furthering the promotion of your work.

And all you have to do is sign up, for free, fill out a few forms, upload your mp3s or mpgs or even embed your Google and YouTube videos, and viola, you now have a power packed profile page pointed directly at your peers. : )

At least do yourself the benefit of visiting Artopium and checking out the features. It's very easy, taking about 3 minutes to sign up, and about another 10 or 15 minutes to complete your profile page to include a bio, images, and buy now buttons linked directly to your creative works.

And Artopium provides links back to your website, MySpace page, and coming soon your DeviantArt and Etsy pages too! Talk about increasing your link popularity!

The only real question I have for you, is why you wouldn't sign up? You'd be missing out on too much. Especially since right now I'm offering

FREE UPGRADES to PREMIUM ACCOUNTS

for a whole year, where you will get more disk space (100 MB) for uploading your mp3s, mpgs and images, the ability to instantly add your creative works to eBay listings for immediate bidding,  longer range statisitics, and best of all LOWER COMMISSION RATES!

All you have to do to take advantage of this is simply sign up to Artopium.com and become an Artist Member, complete your profile page to include as much information as possible, and have at least one Creative Work for sale. Once you have set up your account, which is completely free, quick and easy to do (or perhaps you already have an account?), just contact us and let us know your Artopium profile URL and it will be reviewed shortly. This is a very limited offer and only available to the first 5 people who contact me and have completed the requirements.

Anyway, I'm sure I've rambled on enough about this. Besides, what are you doing still reading this? Go sign up to Artopium.com right now!

This is still a very new feature and is still  in the beta testing phase. I am going to give away a few Premium accounts and let artists use the features such as adding works to eBay, completely for free for one year. This will eventually be a $24.99 per year value, but if you are interested in testing out the new features, please contact me and I will take a look at your account. I'm looking for artists who have a very well formed profile page, completed with everything that can be. The higher your rating points and account activity the better too. Anyway, these are very limited ad will be on a first come first serve basis, so don't hesitate. Just contact me ASAP. :)

I'm incredibly excited to bring to you the news that Artopium.com has gone through some wonderful and innovating changes, granting more freedom and flexibility for you, the artist to sell your Creative Works online. It's been a long journey, but I think you'll be impressed by all the new features. Here's an almost complete list of what I'm calling Artopium 5.0.

New Features

For everyone...

1) Artopium has a new, sleak yet simple look, helping to present your work in the best way possible.

2)
Every single written article has been updated with the latest information.

3) The "Art, Music, Fashion, Video & Book" drop down menus have been fixed so that work in most versions of IE

4) You may now sign up for Artopium's Newsletter once again. Just add your name and email to the feature at the bottom of the home page. It shouldn't be too long before a new newsletter comes out.

5) Artopium now has a new and improved
privacy policy, protecting your sensitive information.

6) The Artopium forums have been removed. Nobody was using it anyway. I'm looking into new forums or blogs or something to take it's place, however, I'm not putting much effort into it until I see a need for it.

For Standard Artist Members...

7) All reviews posted by Artopium onlookers are now secured by captcha (people must solve a simple code to post). Only a very few people were being harrassed by spam, but not anymore!

8) "
Buy Now" pages are now a lot more appealing to buyers. By presenting more information to buyers in a nicely formatted design they will be more enticed to buy. Also, buy now pages are much easier to be indexed by google and other search engines.

9) All Artist profile pages as well as buy now pages contain a "Link to this page" box, enabling people to copy and paste HTML links from their blogs, websites, forums, myspace pages, etc. to your art work.

10) You can now add google and youtube videos to your Creative Works by simply pasting the video embed code into the appropriate box when you "add a video clip". This feature only applies to Video Creative Works.

11) Totals for the amount of money either Pending, Verifying, Cancelled, Refunded, Completed and Paid Orders are now presented at the top of the Orders page.

12) You can now change the order in which your Creative Works are presented on your profile page, as well as the number of works per page.

13) The Shipping Center has been completely renovated and upgraded into a full fledged and fully functional shipping preferences settings page which enables you to set shipping costs (and insurance for original works) for your Works.

For Premium Artist Members... (Beta)

14) Artists who choose to upgrade their accounts for a small subscription will get a host of more features including:

15) The ability to instantly add your Creative Works to eBay! Just pick a category and your Creative Work is immediately available for bidding!

16) 80 MB more disk space (a total of 100 MB) for uploading music, video and images to Artopium.

17) A higher base rating for every Creative Work listed, pushing them all higher in the Artopium search results as well as causing them to appear on the Artopium home page more often.

18) Longer ranging statistics. Your stats will be saved for two years instead of only one.

19) Premium account holders will be charged nearly half the commission for sales of their works on Artopium. In essence this is the best feature, as if you are a high volume selller you can instantly increase your earnings. In accordance to these new changes a
fees chart has been created.

20) There's probably more that I'm just forgetting to mention, but do you really want to sit there and keep reading about it, or are you going to go check out the new site at
Artopium.com now?

So, we're getting ready for our first out-of-Austin adventure by going to Wyoming at the end of the month for this years national rainbow gathering. We hope to create our own kitchen and camp area full of creativity and art. Our Artopium Art Camp combined with the so-famous "Millaways" rainbow kitchen, so to speak, run by the now very famous Freeman from FreemanTV.com.

We are currently encouraging the support of our members and fellow "patrons of the arts" in the form of sponosrships or simple donations. Any contribution you can make will greatly help.

I am also making jewelry again, in an effort to raise money, and also to just get into the spirit. At rainbow, money is deeply discouraged, so I thought I might start making it again to trade with while I'm there, and to try to raise money for food, fuel and supplies. I make fine beaded and hemp necklaces, bracelets and anklets, using fine crystals, jade, hematite, bone, glass and more. I made and Artopium page where you can see my entire collection which you can visit here:

Be sure to say Artopium refered you!

Ladies and gentlemen of the art world, we are seeking any and all creative humans who use their skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others. That is, we are looking for those whose life is art, and everything they do is DIY.  We are searching for those who are creating the Hand-Made Nation. We are calling !ALL! make-believers, dreamers and reality re-arrangers. We are searching hi and low for lowbrow, urban, contemporary, pop-surrealism,  pop art, op art, hard-edge, lyrical abstraction, post minimalism, which might be interpreted by some to mean that we are looking only for painters, but that is most definitely not the case. For you see, of course, we need masters of typography, sketchers, illustrators, satirical stencilers, screen printing is way cool, and yes, you too, graffiti fools. Do you manipulate earth/land/sand/plants/junk into art? Then we have a home for you. Every culture jammer in the hood. Now we know, some of you may be saying "What about Dadas' Dadaists, though?" Of course we are calling all inspired by DADA- that's what gave us the fluxists, productivism, neoplasticism, pittura, metafisica, arbeitsrat and quite possibly Bauhaus. Well, we are looking for all of "you", if any of you still exist. Now one may wonder… What about the cubist? We say, "But of course." Conceptualist? Indeed. Instalationists? Please! One might ask if we are seeking anything that might fall under postmodernist modernist modernisnist who are not distracted by abstractionists and others IST'S. Of course there is always impressionism, post-minimalism, pre-contemporaryism, and expressionism. Are you working in symbolism or surrealism or any of the other -isms that we have not yet mentioned? Well come out. But wait that's not all, that could not possibly be all this call for ARTE is all about? Well, Dali you're right. This call goes out to kinetic sculptors, fire sculptors, sound artists bending invisible waves, and video projectionists playing with light. We must invite the minds of the poets and their spoken slam voices, along with improv comedians who mimic the true history of time. Or was that the klown? How can we forget about the klowns! Performers "performing" art, puppeteers with their puppets, musicians making sounds. Oh, and least we forget outsider artists wanting to be outside.

Artopium is a place.

It is an art emporium, if that is what you want it to be. The search engines and directories all view it as a similar entity; a directory, categorized by, well, by art. But it's more than that, because it is also a global storefront for underground and unsigned artists.

And it's more than ART; it's also MUSIC, FASHION, FILM, AND LITERATURE. And it's ONE place, for all to come together. Like sticks in a bundle, Artopium grows stronger every day. And most of all, it has ideals and virtues, such as any artist would. It is the ideal place for artists to come together to list and sell their Creative Works on the Internet.

It will succeed where other websites have failed because of its ideal to uphold the value of art over the value of money. Artopium is its own bubble of utopia, and that bubble is expanding in new directions every day, the voice of which grows stronger with every new artist that joins.

Find out how you can become part of this growing phenomenon.

Hello All,

I just wanted to let everyone know I have finished writing an article on How to Promote Your Creative Works (art, music, fashion, film, books, etc.) Online. Being a musician myself, I wrote this article with the artist in mind. It covers basic topics such as understanding your audience and the structure of the Internet as a whole, to more advanced topics such as how to create HTML links directly to your work and how to increase your link popularity (a very important topic for understanding how to reach potential customers). There are many links to outside resources and additional help, as well as a thorough list of search engines and directories for you to list your work in. If you would like to get a better foot-hold in the Art/Music market on the Internet, this article is a must-read.

After reading my article, be sure to check my Myspace page for instructions on how to promote your works further. As an incentive for artists to join Artopium.com I am offering to add 1000 bonus rating points (see my blog on Artopium rating points) for every HTML link you create to your work on Artopium. By doing this, artists are not only increasing their link popularity (something that needs to be done anyway to promote their work), but will have their work appear higher in the Artopium search results and possibly on Artopium's front page.

If you have any questions about Artopium or what I'm doing to help artists promote their work, please don't hesitate to send me a Myspace message. Good luck to you all and may you have a wonderful day!

Wow, you asked for it, and so it is. I would like to invite you back to Artopium.com where many new and exciting changes have been made to better facilitate the promotion and sales of your Creative Works.

* Musicians can now add song titles and lyrics to their albums. This is a biggy. Now potential customers can see how many songs are on your album as well as get a feel for what the rest will be like without hearing the whole thing. Definitely a plus for pursuading a customer into making that purchase

* The Stats section is now fully functional. You can now see all of your Creative Works in one place, with a bar graph for each going back 12 months! You also have access to raw stat logs and can see the country of each visitor.

* The Orders section now allows you to sort your orders by type. Long needed, but finally done. You can now sepearte paid orders from pending orders more easily.

* The encryption system for the database has been upgraded providing you with a more secure access to your Artopium account.

* You can now receive email notification of all reviews of your work submitted by Artopium visitors.
You can turn this option on or off in the Account section of your My Artopium Member area.

Much work was done to provide a better working and more efficient site, so come back and check it out. I think you'll like what you see!

Fashion Designers! Clothing Companies! Get your fashion listed on Artopium.com and be on the front page!

I am urgently seeking any and all fashion designers or independent clothing companies who would like to have their clothing listed in one of the fastest growing online fashion retailers, Artopium.com. If you are interested in having your fashion displayed and sold then I urge you to sign up for free and join Artopium.com where you can easily setup a online storefront to either drive traffic to your existing shopping cart or you can use ours at a commission.

Although Artopium has had MANY artist sign ups in the last few days, few of them have been fashion designers. What this means to you: There is PLENTY of room at the top! And I'll see to it that your fashion stays at the top, and receives attention on Artopium.com's front page as well.

To give you an idea, Artopium.com has received over 600 unique visitors and over 5,000 pageviews in the last 5 days and we only launched last monday (1-23-06), and the fashion category is the number one looked at area over all the other categories. Yet, there are only a few items for sale in the entire category. Any fashion designers that sign up to sell their clothing will automatically be at the top of the fashion category, PLUS I'll give you the 5000 bonus rating points as described below to ensure your appearance on Artopium's front page.

I hope to see your fantastic clothing and fashionable wear (shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.) on Artopium.com soon and I wish all of you the best of wishes!
