Hello, everyone!

I recently had my first local print sale which went very well and am now working on redesigning my website to sell photo prints and canvases among other things. In the meantime, I have set up a page to make the remaining prints I have from the sale available in time for the holidays!

Please check out the website below to see if there's an image you would like for yourself or as a gift for someone else. All of the prints are unframed with an image size of 8x10 in an 11x14 matte, all archival quality. Feel free to send me a message or email with any questions/requests.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season!

Photos of The Fray taken at The Woodlands on Friday... all I have to say is there's nothing like these four guys singing "Hips Don't Lie"... Unfortunately, that was after the first three songs so no pictures of that number, but it was a great show!

Be sure to scroll down (or go to my website) to see pictures from the opener, Eisley

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

As promised... some more photos from my trip last week. On Sunday, after half of our group had left, the rest of us had the honor to visit an orphanage that our host is involved with. The kids who live there are some of the most amazing souls I've ever met. The orphanage is on the grounds of a learning center where the philosophy is based on the book "Cosmic Reawakening" by Artimia Arian. There are currently 15 kids and 7 staff. Four of the staff members act as parents raising 2-4 kids in the handful of houses on the grounds. The kids are surrounded by love and have been told that, while they are free to do whatever they want at 18, they will never be kicked out. If they want to stay, they'll be able to build their own homes on the land there.

All of the kids came from situations where their parents could no longer care for them, abandoned them or from extreme abuse situations. To see them today, you would never know it. The little girl in the doorway below could not walk when she arrived at the age of 2 due to a hip displacement. With proper medical care, she and her twin are now obviously doing well! The boy in the photo below just wants to help everybody and assist you in any way he can. The girl in white was only set down once while we were there because she wants to hug everybody, moving from one person to the next, sometimes hugging four people at a time! To hold her you can just feel the love she gives. These are truly the sweetest kids I've met. They aren't shy at all - they all emanate love with their big smiles and big hearts!

Though the government may bring the kids to the orphanage, it doesn't provide any funding. However, the kids are required to pass certain tests and be provided with specific medical care and education so it is fairly expensive to run. Each child is sponsored, generally by a family, and other costs are covered by one-time donations. If you would be interested in donating to the orphanage or know of any groups looking for a service project in Mexico, please send me a message and I'll put you in touch.

Thanks for reading!

I just got back from a yoga retreat in Tepoztlan, Mexico. It was absolutely amazing and I can finally say (after almost 2 years of training) that I'm a certified yoga teacher!

As far as photos, unfortunately I wasn't able to get many pictures in town, but the hotel where we stayed was absolutely gorgeous and is owned by a florist... hence all the floral photos.

More to come - including portraits of some of the most amazing kids I've ever met...

Comments and suggestions are always welcome and appreciated... I hope you're all having a great week!

I went home to Chicago this past weekend for a quick visit and we took my niece, Chloe, to the city for an afternoon. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day...

(That's carmel in the second shot, by the way.)
Comments/suggestions are always welcome... thanks for looking!

...taken at Austin Java last night. My friend, Lizzy D, had her first Austin gig last night and was awesome! So awesome, in fact, that her gorgeous voice stopped many people on the street including the drummer from Soul Asylum! If you're in the area, you can catch her again next Friday (9/22) playing with The Twilight Broadcast.

It's been awhile since my last blog so thanks for coming back to look after the long hiatus! (I blame the day job.) Comments/suggestions are always welcome. : )

Have a good one!

... taken at Warehouse Live last Thursday when he opened for Matt Wertz (photos of him coming soon). Mat's style was refreshing - blending spoken verse with hip-hop and pop influences over an acoustic set - providing for a very enjoyable performance. : )

There are larger versions of these and more photos from the show at www.ashleymilne.com and, of course, comments and suggestions are more than welcome.
