On April 1, 2003 Bailey Records released two new CDs through CDBaby.com and eventually digital distribution such as iTunes, eMusic.com, etc.  I served as Executive Producer (fancy title meaning I approved the final content and design) on both projects.  Friend and former business partner Adam Greenawalt served as co-producer and engineer while James Prostovich – one of my favorite artists – served as illustrator and graphic designer on both.
Stratos: Autumnal Slumber (April 1, 2003 / Bailey Records)
Autumnal Slumber was meant to be my “shining moment” – my White Album, my Vitalogy, my Achtung Baby!  After numerous short-run releases through mp3.com and appearances on several compilation discs, I thought it was time to do an official, highly-publicized, release.  Compiling music I’d written for two independent films that never happened and adding new tracks to tie it all together, Autumnal Slumber was going to be the album I sold while on tour – making me fortune and fame.  Instead, Autumnal Slumber brought me more work and was quickly overshadowed by my 2004 release – CyberNet Official Roleplaying Soundtrack (May 11, 2004 / Bailey Records).

Commercially speaking, Autumnal Slumber has sold really well over the years and has earned me much recognition however I still feel it never got its proper due.
Stand out moments related to Autumnal Slumber:
* Columbus radio airplay on RadioU (88.7FM)
*

Radio airplay on Whip of Cords
*
The birth of The Darkrider mythology (based on an illustration by James Prostovich that I later used on the CyberNet soundtrack project)
*
The Masters of the Universe Tour featuring Stratos and the Stereoflowers plus special guests such as college buddy Eric George

Various Artists: Music For Martha – Benefit Album (April 1, 2003 / Bailey Records)
The goal of the Music For Martha benefit album was to help raise money and awareness for a charitable arm of the Grove City Vineyard Christian Fellowship.  Martha Ministries was dedicated to helping out those in need whether it is with groceries, clothing, emergency repairs, etc.  At the time, I was active with Martha Ministries and so I wanted to give something back.  I decided to put out and all point bulletin looking for recording artists to appear on an album that would raise funds for Martha Ministries.  Bands from Chicago, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, and Columbus answered our call.  We managed to put together a very eclectic album that ranges from acoustic singer/songwriter music to punk, dance, and a little of everything else.
Stand out moments related to Music For Martha – Benefit Album:
Raising nearly $1000.00 to date for Martha Ministries
Fantastic, exclusive songs by Jennifer Greenawalt, Slow To Speak, and many others including several members of the Grove City Vineyard and my college buddy Eric George (All Things Considered)

On this day in 2000, I released the first compact disc on Bailey Records.  I started the label only months before in September as a formal way to promote three bands I was promoting – Seventh Seal, Quick Fiction, and Perfekt Gentlemen.  I took all three bands into the studio in Fall 1999 and we put two songs from each on a compilation disc called Hear No Evil, Volume One (Copyright 2000 Bailey Records).  Other bands featured on the compilation included my friends 5SS (who would later sign with Bailey Records as Zuzu Bailey), Harrisburg PA-favorites The Less Miserables, TinderBox (my old college band), the ever-popular Last Tuesday, and several others.

Here’s the complete track listing from Hear No Evil, Volume One:
1. QUICK FICTION – “Blinded”
2. THE LESS MISERABLES – “Something to Say”
3. 5SS – “Map of the World”
4. LAST TUESDAY – “Belief”
5. PERFEKT GENTLEMEN – “Dogs Are Not Like Fish”
6. SEVENTH SEAL – “Thou Wilt”
7. PTERADACTYL – “Where Terror Lies”
8. 5SS – “I am Judas”
9. CALIGO – “For Renee”
10. SEVENTH SEAL – “Do You Love Me?”
11. ABOUT A DAY – “Skies”
12. TINDERBOX – “Door”
13. QUICK FICTION – “Before”
14. SURGE AGAINST ALL – “Look At Me”
15. SHORT FUSE – “Best of Times”
16. PERFEKT GENTLEMEN – “Star Wars Extra”

To promote the release and sales of the disc (this was way before online distribution and digital downloads), I took many of the bands on the road together.  Those were fun days!

This cinematic song was inspired in part by HALO and other science fiction properties that feature soldiers in power armor.  Some have said it reminds them of Mission: Impossible.  In the game setting of Rezolution, this is a theme song for the CSO Peace Keepers.
In the dark tomorrow of REZOLUTION, the year is 2175 and the Central Security Organization (CSO) are determined to maintain order and protect the masses from various threats including the alien Dravani, mercenary Ronin, dogmatic Vatacina, and the megalomaniacal APAC.  The Peace Keepers are the elite power armor soldiers of the CSO, dispatched to handle the vilest of the opposition.

Theme = A power armored soldier’s call to arms.

I'm passing this on for a friend of mine.  I'm considering doing the show and think many of you might fit the bill as vendors... or at the very least, patrons!
Oddmall, Northeast Ohio's Emporium of the Weird (http://www.oddmall.info), is currently seeking vendors for the inaugural show on May 9, 2009. Oddmall is a wondrous celebration of unusual arts and crafts brought to you by Mutha Oith Creations, the fine folks behind Con on the Cob and other bizarre enterprises.
Vendor booths are normally only $125, but if you reserve yours by February 8th you save 25% (only $100)!
Oddmall takes place Saturday May 9, 2009 at the Holiday Inn Hudson in Hudson, Ohio. The show is free and open to the public.
For more information please visit the official Oddmall website at http://www.oddmall.info
Please send me a message if you plan to attend this event to help sway my decision.  Thanks!  :)

Left Coast Lingo is the second “single” from the album Warlands - The Soundtrack (Bailey Records/2009) releasing April 21, 2009.

This Orange County-style rock song features Trevor Peters on guitar and is sort of a party song for the post-apocalypse survivors living day-to-day on Pacific shoreline.

While composing the music for Warlands - The Soundtrack, I've taken cue from a plethora of post-apocalyptic movies such as Death Race, Doomsday, Escape from New York, Terminator, and many more.  Throw in some rockin' and thrashin' guitars along with some zombies and you have the desolate setting of Warlands (Aberrant).  For more information, visit http://www.aberrantgames.com.

Be sure to visit the official website below for the song!

Theme = Instrumental music for the post-apocalypse!

Left Coast Lingo is composed and arranged by Stratos of Bailey Records Composition and Sound Design - the team that brought you the Origins Award-nominated Universe87 Campaign Setting Soundtrack.

Weather-permitting (and it'll take a lot),I'll be attending the Akron-Canton Comic Convention on Sunday, January 25, 2009 from 10am to 4pm at Chapparell's Community Center (new location!).2418 South Arlington Road - Akron, Ohio 443191 mile North of I-77 and Exit 120 (Arlington Road) - is this the old Hill's?I will actually have a table set up to sell my music and a small PA system playing my vast library on shuffle. I used to do this show but took 2008 off. With three new soundtracks coming out in 2009, I've decided to get back out there. This is a relatively small show (large for comic books but smaller than the gaming shows) but it's a lot of fun and the people are great.Admission is only $3.00 and parking is Free. Plus hourly door prizes!Hope some of you will stop by the show to say "hi" since I'm in the area.

Introducing 'Snakes on the Playground' – the first of five promotional songs from the upcoming album Warlands – The Soundtrack (Bailey Records/2009).

'Snakes on the Playground' is the perfect theme song for any biker gang terrorizing the helpless across the Warlands.

Inspired in part by the Dreadnoks found in GI Joe comics & cartoons, the idea of a "rock song" for Warlands (post-apocalyptic miniatures combat) was further imbedded by the teaser trailers for Death Race which featured 'Welcome to the Jungle' by GnR.

Warlands: Battle Box, the first release by Aberrant for the new 20mm miniatures game, will release in early 2009.  Warlands – The Soundtrack will release on April 21, 2009 and will be available through both "gaming" and "music" distributors.

I hope you enjoy this song.  Merry Christmas from all your friends at Aberrant and Bailey Records!

Just thought I'd drop a little note about my latest project.  Currently I'm working on Warlands - The Soundtrack that will release in April 2009.  Warlands is a post-apocalyptic miniatures game in the same vein as Mad Max / Doomsday / Death Race / 28 Days Later and the like.  The soundtrack will be my first true rock album and features Trevor Peters on guitar... loud rock / metal / funk guitars!  A couple of songs are already finished (look for the title track at the beginning of January) and many more are awaiting final guitars and mix.

I'll keep you posted.

Until next time... keep on pluggin' in and punkin' out!
