November 7, 2009 - Saturday
I'm not sure what to call this one.  It was advertised on eBay as "batman batmobile 1966 asg lincoln ventura/batmobile," which isn't terribly helpful.  Although it clearly had roots in the '66 at one point, I think it's moved out of the realm of "Batmobile" and into something else entirely.  Kind of cool, though:

The entry for the 1973 Batmobile has been updated.  Thanks to John for his note about the car.
November 2, 2009 - Monday
Had a great time at today's Comic Con: it has expanded since last year, and appeared that the number of attendees has increased as well.  There were also more Batmobile toys for sale than many other toys shows and conventions that I've been to, including a classic Corgi 267 and one of the recalled Mattel cars.  My only acquisition was another Revell model kit of the Batman Forever Batmobile to use in a future custom project.

It's true: page four of Round 2 2009/2010 catalog features not one, but two versions of the '66 Batmobile: a snap-together kit and a glue kit.  You can download a copy of the catalog here.
October 31, 2009 - Saturday
Small update tonight: the new Tyco slot car has been added to the BATB page.
October 30, 2009 - Friday
I saw this over on The Bat-Blog.  It may not be a Batmobile, but like the Aston Martin concept posted here in September, it would make an excellent candidate:

October 29, 2009 - Thursday
If you'll be in the Albany, NY area this weekend, stop by and say hi.  The Con will be this Sunday from 10-4 at the Wolf Road Holiday Inn.  Full details are available here.
October 27, 2009 - Tuesday
Tanks to Inzo for passing this on: Hot Wheels 1/18 Batmobiles are currently on sale at Toys R Us for $19.99 each.  So if you still don't have one, or want to pick up an extra (or two) for custom work, now is the time to do it!

From CharityBuzz.com:

An unbelievable replica of the original Batmobile!

This replica includes: 705 hp 514 cu in Stroker motor with lots of Billett alum parts, custom transmission, adjustable air suspension, rear end, Pioneer AZIC 3 Navigation system, Flame thrower, custom alum roll up dash, 4 wheel disc brakes, custom leather interior, custom rims.

The Batmobile has evolved along with the character of Batman from comic books to television and films. Kept in the Batcave, which it accesses through a hidden entrance, the Batmobile is a gadget-laden vehicle used by Batman in his crime-fighting activities.

Batman first drove in Detective Comics #27 (May, 1939). A sedan, the vehicle was simply referred to as "his car". It soon began featuring an increasingly prominent bat motif, typically including distinctive wing-shaped tailfins. In the early stages of Batman's career, he modified it with armor and technologically-advanced automotive customization and turned the Batmobile into a sleek street machine.

Kudos to whoever wrote the auction description for that last paragraph: most listing seem to ignore everything that came before the TV series, or make up their own history whole cloth.

You can see the listing and bid on the Batmobile here.

If you missed the recent Family Guy episode that parodied the Superfriends intro, fear not: Hulu has the episode available here.
