recoil(ing) insanity -to the tune of: 750gr (.585 Nyati)

Sensible weights for a .585 Nyati range from 12 to 16 lb. Recoil in a 12 lb rifle would be severe. 10 lb rifles have been built, but the recoil from full power loads would be very difficult to manage, perhaps impossible for most shooters. For example, typical bolt-action hunting rifles weigh 7-9 lbs when scoped. [3] In typical calibers such as .308, .270, or .30-06, recoil ranges from 15-20 ft-lbf. [4] By comparison, a 12 lb rifle in .585 Nyati using a 750 gr bullet at 2466 fps would have 158 ft-lbf of recoil.[1]

We're doing a show for MSNBC called Why They Run. A lot of times when you see people involved in high speed pursuits, you ask why they run, so we went back and interviewed the people who run. We talk to convicted criminals and police. It should be really interesting.

This isn't on a personal taste or philosophical level, or even the old "It's going to be there forever" adage, and it will probably INFURIATE most of my friends. But if you consider yourself a serious actor, PLEASE READ THIS.

I have auditioned or been around auditions all my life, and the one thing that doesn't get people hired as an actor or actress are tattoos and piercings. Now some actors are just stupid and stubborn about their piercings, not wanting to remove them because it's their personal choice, and the director either deals with it or replaces them. But this is about tattoos.

There are only a handful of actresses consistently working today who have their body covered with tattoos:

Angelina Jolie, Asia Argento and Alyssa Milano being a few.

The rest will only get "punk" or "goth" roles because they will only be limited to that. Unless you're a REALLY huge star, a producer will not hire someone who is covered with tattoos. The cost of hiring a makeup artist to cover them up is tremendous, plus having to touch them up throughout the day, and unless the make up is really good, the cover-ups look horrible and obvious on screen.

Many actors or actresses may say "Fuck you if you dont want to hire me for who I am" well, the director would rather fuck them than hire them. The US entertainment business is a conservative, mainstream place, so unless you want to be playing hookers and street thugs, you should really think about what you do to your body and figure out what is more important to you. It will save a lot of heartbreak.
