Current mood: romantic
To our friends, family & listeners, Thank You. our friends over at Silo3 wrote a very nice blurb regarding our break-up. http://silo3.blogspot.com/2009/08/besnyo-break-up-new-projects.htmlChris and I have a new band called worrywort will be starting to play out in september, with a record soon to follow in October. If you want copies of Look Alive or Worry, we can provide physical or digital copies of each for little to no cost. Highlights since Fall of 2004 - 1. Bill, myself and Don Playing our first show at Tudor Lounge with no name and not playing again until March of 2005. 2. Meeting Giovanni Ribisi when we opened for Autolux @ Showplace Theatre. 3. Playing in Akron, Ohio for the Old Sweethearts and the Bubble Tea guy and his 5 children of the damned style kids. 4. Making Isacc uncomfortable. (we love you) 5. Turning down a Ted Leo show for a Rasputina show and feeling really weird. (not that we dont like rasputina, love em, but it was still awkward) 6. Bailing on Pedro the Lion and having him complain about us on stage. 7. name dropping. 8. Greenville. Driving 13 hours for one show. Twice. Worth it both times. 9. The guy who supplied Gwen Stefani's wardrobe 10. Practicing everywhere. 11. Worry taking 8 months to finish. 12. Being Iona's staple opening band for a year and a half. 13. having chances. lovesean (&bill, zach, chris, sonny & bindu, steve, roshen, dan, don, jenessa, mike, joey, isacc)

BESNYO: Worry | 2008 Harvest Sum
Based out of Buffalo’s Elmwood, Village Besnyo is an indie band with shoegaze tendencies. And by indie, I mean independent; the band record- ed and produced Worry through the co-op, Harvest Sum Records. The songs were written and arranged by singer/guitarist Sean Mikula, and as the title suggests, the album feels like an anxiety attack. Mikula’s voice hovers between whisper and sigh as it combines with synth lines to form a calm façade before the fervency of the percussion. The sound is that of a straight face betrayed by the up and down energy of nervous knee twitching. The seventh track “Wait,” opens with an enigmatic under- statement from Mikula, “Its hard to breathe when your arms on fire, and its hard to see when your art’s on fire,” the song then gets carried away by rattling snares that prevail throughout the album. “Height Chart,” provides a cathartic exhale. Its guitar melodies and signaling trumpets are the post-panic attack lucidity. Ultimately, Besnyo succeeds by pro- ducing an album with its own sound. It’s also quite danceable in its own way, so there’s that. Goes well with: V-neck T’s and pbr.
