Like in high school when everyone cheered on the sports teams and shared close memories with their friends. Spirit was considered excitement. We all felt a part of something beautiful and bigger than ourselves. Between Blue would like YOU, our good friends to join with us in a new Spirit. This Spirit has been around for centuries yet it reveals itself in new, fresh ways each and every single day if we allow it. This is our rejoicing. Can you hear it? It is ringing out through our veins and the light shoots from our irises. Warm color flows across our cheeks and our lips become crescents of happiness. David sung of the Spirit so loudly in the Psalms:

"I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips. My soul will boast in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together." Psalms 34:1-3

Dear Jesus, through all we've been through together, would you still stay by our side? Will you hear our aching inside. The crumbling dreams and passions were the last of what we had. You are the very last One. You are now the everything. Be everything we truely need.

We are forreal in the thick of recording our new album...it is wonderful to do this alongside some incredible friends, and we are each gingerly or boldly putting touches on our first full length LP. Here are some details and hints and all kinds of goodies for you to read up on about "When We Awoke Again."

-Ten songs is the goal.
-Two songs, The Discovery and The Sailing Ship, have been restructured and re-recorded for this one....we are thrilled that you can clearly hear the vocals now, and aaron loves having some drum mics... the kick drum can now be heard. no more underwater-sounding drums and vocals to soften tinny or harsh tones. In short, we are capturing some nice, full, and warm tones and not needing so much reverb to make things pretty (reverd means Gverb in the between blue camp. Gverb, awkward snowman setting equaled soupy, echo-ey, watery goodness smothering any sound).
-Matt has named his new song (the super fun one to play live, with the "bum-bum-bum-bum, BUM-BUM-BUM-BUM!!) "Compelling." Thanks for writing a wonderful song, Matt! we love your enthusiasm, sincerity, and passion!
-Songs that are completely done:
1. Hospital Beds
2. Tin Cans Rattling (wherever it beats)
3. Marbled Sky
-Songs that are-so-close-to-being-done-we-could-celebrate!
1. The Discovery
2. The Sailing Ship
3. Compelling
-Songs that have begun to be recorded as of today:
1. Close Your Eyes
-Songs that are cooking in the oven:
1. Wake Up / Andrew's New Song....this is a lovely piano piece that will most certainly close the album. may we wake up from our years of sleep, everyone. if you want to hear a demo of this, head on over to andrew/marevia's myspace.
2. Into a Million Parts....this is a song I have written that I want the band to make sound wonderful. I need a certain Mr. Andrew J. Elder to learn some lyrics about the end of the world and waking up to the essential truth of the Unseen God...I am going for a future-folk sound. This might be an experiment that I hope comes together.
3. The Maloney Bologna Song/The new song in the key of E/The fun song/The "der-der-derdy-der" song....a wonderful piece of joyous music written by aaron and landon...we just need to scrounge up some lyrics. yes, please. :)
4. Driving Alone....this is the backup song if the Maloney Balogna Song doesn't work out. We just don't have the time to record 11 songs (but I think we could pull it off!! ssshhh!!)....this is a very lyric-centric song. It is cathartic in a very good way...in a phrase, God is never so far off to save what tends to fall apart. C# major is a key with lots of tension and chilling beauty, and I can tell that this song would really thrive with some skillful dynamics and the right mood. Andrew and I need to work out some of the words, but we are very good at compromising and working things out by God's grace and patience.
-The album cover I posted about a month ago is an idea of the final design. We are hoping to save up enough to manufacture a package that will have enough room for lyrics to be printed. yup!
-Garageband makes everything sound so satisfying.
-I want a vocoder.
-A song you would only sing to my girl might open the discovery at some of our upcoming shows. hehe!
-Recording guitars for Close Your Eyes on Tuesday....vocal mayhem with friends on Friday.

please bear with me and let me make up some tracklists! this is great fun for me; I am not sure why!
1. Tin Cans Rattling (Wherever it Beats)
2. Close Your Eyes
3. The Discovery
4. Maloney Bologna Song / Driving Alone
5. Marbled Sky
6. Hospital Beds
7. The Sailing Ship
8. Compelling
9. Into a Million Parts
10. Wake Up

honestly, just planning track listings gets me so excited for the album to be done and in your hands! I love pre-album planning! :)

hope you folks are as excited as we are!

...incredibly beautiful. We would like to thank Love Beyond Reason, Shane Palko!, Not Myself, Child Like Faith, all the people who signed up for open mic and the gracious people that allowed us to use their speakers. It was a grand evening but on a sad note LBR anounced that it was their last show and started off the show with their end as they went out with a big bang.

Heres the sales-pitch!

So we have new threads availiable for your wearing enjoyment:

V-necks on American Apparel for $18

Crew necks on Anvil for $15

They're hawt!!

Also, we have new singles availiable when you buy The Almond Tree Blossoms EP.
And if you go into Rainbow Records on Main Street, Newark you can purchase our EP for $5.

Thanks again everyone for the awsome show. We hope to see you all again on the 21st of August at North East Church of God for another awsome time of music and friends and fun!

Cheers!! and Blessings,

Andrew

"...When We Awoke Again"

Good news friends! We have three-ish songs done for our new album, hopefully to be recorded in its entirety by the end of the summer. We also bit the bullet and made new, yet very economical, t-shirts for you. They will be available at the YFC show on the 24th, so check them out! We can't wait to sing, dance, talk, and laugh with all of you for the rest of the summer wherever we may show up. We are enjoying each other's company and starting to wind ourselves up like an alarm clock (though few folks have those sort of clocks anymore....maybe they don't trust moving parts and like circuit boards better) for the upcoming season in our lives. We are all going to different schools, but we are most certainly staying together as friends and bandmates.

We have been blessed with these songs for the new EP, as of now untitled and still baking in the oven:

1. Tin Cans Rattling (Wherever It Beats)
2. Hospital Beds
3. Marbled Sky
4. Close Your Eyes
5. The Discovery (This song is just begging to be redone! We're excited about it!)
6. The Sailing Ship (Last song on the roster for re-recording)
7. ------
8. ------

I would be thrilled with 8 tracks. We are writing like grad students, but without all the pressure. Matt has a song. I have some as well. Andrew has a bunch that we've been listening to, and Landon always has a treasure trove that he keeps a secret. Aaron's beautiful piano piece, tenatively titled "Miracle Weaver", has been shelved in the context of the band (but maybe not shelved for good).

that's that. for now! love you all,

Levi

Its warm outside. Its finally that time of year, well, sort of. lets talk about the next few months...

... I, Andrew, have a show on March 13th under my solo name Marevia at Glorious Presence Church at 7pm. It costs 5 US/ 6.25 CAN (lol) and will be benefiting The Stackler Family's Adoption of a little boy from overseas. I'm excited...
...There is a YFC show coming up on the 20th of March which will be without me, Andrew. I'm trusting in my bandmates to pull off a good show. I will be in Minnesota doing some college visiting/auditioning.
...then shortly after on April 4th there will be an awsome Battle of the Bands. (My bandmates and I will have to practice before then) It will be at the Wilmington Drama League. If you'd like to buy tickets in advance they cost 8$. Admission at the door will be 11$.
...so thats the next two months so far. Hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy that beautiful weather outside.

Dear friends:
for the curious, here are all of our lyrics so far.
-------------------------------------------------------
Into My Dreams:

Where is love?
Does it shoot across the ocean?
Does it lie on the dark side of the moon?
Or does it...shoot straight into my heart?

-Chorus-
Shoot into my heart, and let me live!
Shoot into my dreams and bring me closer to you...

I see your face in the trees!
I hear your voice in the wind!
And in the wind, I see your eyes!
Those eyes, they stare right in.
Straight into my heart!

When all I have is found and lost,
I promise, I'll come back to you.
-------------------------------------------------------
The Discovery

..............

I'm dreaming of this picture....

Of you and me together!....

And it's so beautiful, it's so beautiful.....

.. ..

-Chorus-

Could you, could you! ....

Crush my dreams, ....

So you can build yours?....

.. ..

I'm walking through this tunnel....

Of shattered dreams and misshapen hearts. ....

And it's so beautiful, it's so beautiful.....

.. ..

My soul is at rest tonight;....

I close my eyes and know....

That when they open again,....

Everything will be all right.....

-------------------------------------------------------
The Sailing Ship

..............

I found
myself upon the sea, one day.....

Off the
shore of that copper-grain home of yours. ....

No rescue
plans! ....

No spread
of wings to fly!....

Ever since
my push from the land. ....

.. ..

Across my
travels I met a youth....

If joy was
false, his face was truth....

Sea-salt
bitter bent his lip....

I watched
him from my sailing ship.....

-Chorus-

O my God,
when will I ever learn from my past!....

O my God,
hold me fast in the sea. ....

Across my
travels I met an old man.....

If voices
fired, his locked again.....

Sea-salt
bitter bent his lip....

I watched
him from my sailing ship...

I crack and
creak,

And refuse
to speak!....

If only he
knew this courage....

Is for the
weak,....

Like me!....

.. ..

Ever since
I realized, I was those two.....

Then I met
you among the blue. ....

.. ..

Everyone is
Between Blue, ....

Everyone is
here. ....

.. ..

Safe! In
cupped watery hands. ....

We rise on
the wings, sprouting from the dawn.....

-------------------------------------------------------

Marbled Sky (O, the Wonder)

All that I believe in.

All that the future means to me.

All that my past built in me.

All that peacemakers hope for.

All that this world deserves.

All that comes to the slave who endures

All that makes me afraid

All that removes fear

All that forms a festival of friends

All that my sins warrant

All that glass tubes can’t cure

All that death takes away

All that life takes back

All the earth cries out for

The rocks and the bowed ground

Giving way to the millennia of mistakes cry out!

A rescuer comes, not to break my reed back

But to build it back together.

And I’m looking over my square wooden socket shoulder

Jutted and altogether immovable

And I think I saw a marbled sky and the hope of hopes

COMING DOWN!

In a dream or in my eye, could it have seen??

Could it have been?

O! The wonder I feel!!

All that I’ve come to become

And all that I wish I was

I might have been more prepared if you would have stopped by
tomorrow,

But everyday I can begin a new life!

All this: it is becoming,

It has happened now.

-------------------------------------------------------

Tin Cans Rattling (Wherever It Beats)

The tendon-bound back

Of the mountains

Is where I’m going

Past the northlands (to the right of the river-land)

With music in my bag

And a rhythm in my heart (wherever it beats?)

Am I a peddler with tin cans rattling,

As I rattle on about the silver I’m selling?!

-Chorus-

If I’m a boastful axe,

Dull me down!

And if I’m a tilting glass,

Pour me out!

You’re calling me to smaller things,

With the great love of a peasant King!

Wherever it beats…

I’m sure you’ve been tracking me

Just to be with me, and for no other cause!

But dear, this people-and-paper shuffling

Rarely lets me pause!

How quickly have I been climbing?

I’m sure my heart’s been timing it!

If I stop the flicker of tin machines

And for a moment just be quiet!

Maybe I could hear it!....

In the reflection of the glassy mountain

I saw a bursting, starry fountain.

Could I loose the cords of Orion

Or lead the Bear and her children?

Who pushed in those thumbtack lights?

Wherever it beats, make it right!

-------------------------------------------------------

Hospital Beds

When things get bad,

I fall on the floor.

The guilt I have

Shall be no more.

And it kills me still today, it kills me still today.

When I get lost,

I burn my map.

(?)

Just endless traps!

And it hurts me still today, it hurts me still today.

And we are changed,

And we are changed.

When I get sick

The doctor is here

(?)

The more I fear

And it kills me still today, it kills me still today!

And we are changed,

And we are changed.

And we are not the same!

And we are saved!

So live like it, live like it!

-------------------------------------------------------

Yikes, it got formatted with all kinds of spaces. sorry!

:)

..............

Hello friends! It's good to be writing on here again. I took a bike ride the other day, and it was very pleasant. Seriously, if you bundle up it's
not too nippy outside. I rode to a small bridge which arcs over a small pond. I
paused here and examined the frozen water. It's interesting how captivating,
engrossing, and dense nature is when examined in silence. I knelt down and (of
course) tested the strength of the ice with rocks, then a foot, then two feet.
I had made my mind up at that point, I suppose.

:)

It was a universe of detail, solitude, and icy terrain. It's hard to believe it
was simply a pond in Townsend. That moment made me feel so small, and yet so
watched, loved, cared for, and held...

"Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand

and marked off the heavens with a span,

enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure

and weighed the mountains in scales

and the hills in a balance?"

...by the Lord.

I snapped a photo of it the day after, and it didn't do it justice.
:(

We've begun developing a new song, entitled Tin Cans Rattling (Wherever It
Beats). Landon rushes up the acoustic guitar, I am playing bouyant bass, Andrew is enjoying it all, and Aaron has a neat little melodica part. Drums will, almost certainly, be fantastic.

We can't wait to complete it and dance with you all at a future show.

hosanna, in the hightest!
