Who says husbands and wives can't play sports together? That's an old adage that the husband and wife team of Melvin & Selena blew out of the water.

They won back-to-back Bid Whist tournaments at the Bid Whist Across America Tour Stop In Nashville on June 30, 2007.

Melvin & Selena nicknames are known in the Atlanta Bid Whist Community as "Poker & Joker". They are members of the 7 No! Players Bid Whist Club Of Atlanta.

 Players from over twelve states traveled to play in the Nashville Bid Whist Weekend.

Melvin & Selena started the day by winning the $600 1st Place Prize in the 10:00am Saturday Morning Early Bird Special Tournament.

They then followed that up by winning the $2000 1st Place Prize in The Nashville Main Event Tournament, played at 2:00pm that same day.

Melvin & Selena have played in several National Bid Whist Tournaments in past years, and this is the first time they took home 1st Place Prizes.

Congratulations to Melvin & Selena, who proved that sometimes husbands and wives, can play sports together.

Robert L. Jones (a.k.a. "Mr. No Trumps") and Tru Dobbins (a.k.a. "Try Me") drove seven hours to get to the New York Area Bid Whist tournament held in Newark NJ on June 9, 2007.

They won 2 of 3 games in the Preliminary Rounds. They then swept through the "Sweet 16 Playoffs" and won the $2000 in the Bid Whist Across America Tour NY / Newark NJ Main Event Tournament.

Their were the other tournaments held during the Bid Whist Across America NY Area Bid Whist Weekend in Newark NJ. Those other 1st Place winners are pictured below:

"Mr. No Trumps" & "Try Me" won a previous National Bid Whist tournament in Detroit during the SuperBowl weekend a couple of years ago. That tournament was hosted by TV Star Kiki Shepard of "Showtime At The Apollo" and "TV One's Bid Whist Party Throwdown TV Show". (See the picture below)

Takes Los Angeles By Storm

Members of the 702 Bid Whist Club of Las Vegas, drove to Los Angeles to compete in the Bid Whist Across America - Los Angeles Tour Stop the weekend of May 18-19, 2007.

It turned out to be a fantastic weekend for the 702 Club. Their members took 1st Place in three out of the 4 tournaments held.

House & Mike Won $2000 1st Place In The Main Event Tournament.

Hiawatha & Sharon Won $600 1st Place In The Friday Night Special Tournament.

Herman & Stephanie won $600 1st Place in the Saturday Night Fever Tournament.

Over $8000 Was Awarded In L.A. That Weekend.
