I've been fairly busy in the past few weeks, and this is actually the first pocket of quiet I've had in a number of days. With that, I decided to poke around here and give the fans a little taste of variation; it is a thing I very much enjoy, had you not recognized that from my work.

Anyway. "Atonement" is gone, possibly lost forever to the unfathomable pits of cyberspace. Soon, another song will be uprooted from its comfortable position aboard the myspace player to be replaced by either a newer member to the family, or by an older sibling who wishes to have a spot in the lime light. Either way, another music change will take place sometime in the next few days. Whether it be due to an X-Men related track, I'll leave to your imagination.

-Concerning "Rising Empire"-

Firstly, I want to point out that "Empire" is NOT my piece. Many people have been asking and sending messages about the music used in the recent X-Men trailers. Since I'm a nice guy, I did a little digging and found the track. A subsection of Sony Pictures called "Immediate Music" specializes in formulating quick, inexpensive scores for motion picture trailers. You have heard their work on films like "Hitch", my own "Bourne Supremacy", "Spider-Man 2" and recently, "X-Men: The Last Stand". If you'll notice, the piece has relatively no labeling, and obviously no picture. It is not going to be featured on the score and won't find its way to a wide CD release anytime soon.

Because, as I said, I am a "Nice Guy", and because I'm the composer for the film, X3 (if you...err...didn't know that by now), I will allow downloads on the track. Even though it's not something I created, it is still a nice little piece to listen to. I hope you enjoy it, nonetheless.

Thanks again for all of your support. When X-Men is released on the 26th, I hope you all see the film and I especially hope that you enjoy the score. Thanks again.

Sincerely,
John

Humeur actuelle :  doué

As some of you may already know, the score for X-Men 3: The Last Stand has been FINALLY completed.  I'm fairly pleased with the final product, still ironing out a few minute details, but for the most part, it's finished.  As it stands, a release date for the score will be a few days prior to the release of the film.  Think the 23rd of May.  No guarantees, because as you know, the music industry isn't always a definite business, but things are looking good.  I've seen the film and for those of you worried about Mr. Ratner not pulling it off...set your worries aside; you won't be needing anything of the sort for X3

Anyway, now that the X-Men score is completed, I'm able to jump headlong into my next project.  For legal reasons, I won't be able to release any pieces from the X3 score until a little closer to its release, but because I'm a nice guy, I'll allow downloads when the track is finally available.

I heartily enjoyed putting together the score for X3, and if nothing else, I hope that enjoyment transcends unto your listening of it.  Thank you again for your support and keep an eye out for a music change in the near future.

Sincerely,
John

As many of you may know, I am working on the score for the upcoming film, X-Men 3: The Last Stand.  Progress on the music is going quite well, and I hope you all see the film when it is released worldwide on the 26th of May, much less enjoy the score!

(Heh.  And, if you must know, I don't have an ever-stretching knowledge of the X-Men, but my favourite would have to be Magneto.  Noble, yet unconscious of the moral ramifications of his own actions.  Brilliant character.)

Sincerely,
John
