There was a somewhat intense thunderstorm here. As I am wont to do, I took a nap.
When I woke up, Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett were dead.
Let the record show that I wish their souls peace.
Let the record show that sometime in the future, I will spill a 40. Just one. They can share.
It also kickstarted a inner debate about the verability of sources. ANd the nature of stardom. I will share, maybe. One day. xoxo >K<

23 is too old to have Fall Out Boy make sense in your life. Other things make sense, but after awhile, the music of your youth isn't supposed to. Kind of like when you're little and you're convinced that there are monsters under your bed or that you really are royalty from another galaxy. I'm trying to make less sense. There's this song by Why? called "The Hollows" and I keep having to listen to it twice when it comes on. My favorite part: This goes out to dirty dancing, cursing, back masking, back-slidden pastors’ kids. (From behind bars it’s not so hard to see he’s risen) And all us Earth-Growths; Some planted, some pulled. (But nobody finds God and then goes to prison.)
Mostly the part about the dirty dancing back-slidden pastors kids. That's me. Mostly the dirty dancing and the cursing. I keep meaning to decipher how I come accross to other people. The sound of my voice (speaking and singing, because I seem to do a lot of both), my actual speed of movements (vs. the percieved speed), the little subtle things that I only occasionally catch that make me heartbreakingly endearing or eye gougingly maddening.
Anybody want to pay me to be me?
Places I would not mind relocating to, USA edition:
Chicago Austin Minneapolis/St. Paul New Orleans St. Louis Memphis Detroit* (*stipulation being that I have a bloody super kickass job. Fat chance though. In a few years?)
The south is not as dirty as I thought.
Its the springtime of my life. I have the weather to prove it.

I need more local friends. Wednesday, I fully intend on hanging out at one particular bar, getting drunk, sleeping it off in my car and driving home. God bless the rock and roll lifestyle. Also, getting way over my head in terms of what music I'm into. Right now, it's hip(ster)-hop. I can't get enough. I've been loving on The Knux hardcore and I think people might start to suspect I'm black. I like "Cappuccino" but the vid is lame. "Bang Bang" is a pretty fun track but the video is the hotness. Visually, think The Warriors meets "Beat It" with a splash of Jailhouse Rock. Speaking of Jailhouse Rock, why is that the hot look this year? Black jacket, skinny black pants, black and white striped shirt (horzontal, thick stripes). I've seen this look on Adam lambert (this season's favorite to win American Idol), in that Knux video and in the video for Eminem's alleged comeback single. but to be fair, Em was parodying Jailhouse Rock. Damn, I love Phoenix. And Saul Williams. Damn, I do.
So much reading to do, I've got 3 soon to be 4 books going right now.
Keep that shit solid gold son.

Sometimes I forget to write. Letters, notes cards, tweets.....
yeah I joined twitter, but we'll see how long that lasts.
File under: things I have time to do now that I am an unemployed college graduate
#57: expand my iTunes library. #57.1: with songs about Linday Lohan.
Stop the Lindsanity!
The collection:
"There's Always andother Girl (for Linday Lohan)" - Juliana Hatfield "Lindsay Lohan's Revenge" - Spank Rock "Lindsay Goes To Rehab" - Anya Marina, Tristan Pettyman and Greg
okay it seemed a lot bigger before I looked it up, but still...
How many songs about La Lohan does one need?
Now who wants to watch I Know Who Killed Me?

Pay no attention to the huge excited Lindsay Lohan.
I also made coffee cake today. From fucking scratch. Nothing was pre made but the ingredients. Have some, its so buttery.

I am sitting at work, consuming the most intense yogurt I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. It's Yoplait light fat free yogurt in Orange Creme. OMG. So Orange and delicous. I love it. Long time.
Depeche Mode is playing as I type. "Blasphemous Rumours" from Some Great Reward.
It's pretty quiet today (knock on wood), the only person that has come in today is Gloria from the meth math lab with a student that needs to take a test. So the student sits in front of me. Doing math. I wish her luck.
Pandora keeps wanting me to listen to The Cure. I grew weary of them after listening to "Fascination Street" once a day for I don't even know how long. But the song also reminds me of what I consider to be one of the sexiest Depeche Mode songs ever, "It's No Good".
I don't know if I am supposed to come in to WIDR today. I sent an email, but no response has been recieved.
I've been reading through old assignments, and not to sound cocky or anything, but DAMN I'M GOOD.
her name is rio, and she dances on the sand....
In Chicago over the weekend, I saw one of Brendan's stickers and it made me all sad inside.
I'm getting better at not crying when I leave.
I need a new Ginsberg poetry anthology.
More Carl Sandburg needs to happen as well.
that's all I got.

Going green is the new tiny dog. I'm more or less over it.
I decided I like planning trips, but I don't like the financial burden involved with going on them. Yesterday, for shiggles, I planned a trip to Vegas. We stayed at the Flamingo. I looked into The Palms, but could only afford a night or two. I need to be rich. Taking, the train, I went overboard in planning a weekend in lovely Alton, IL.
You can rent a fucking scooter.
There's a charming little b and b, and I'm pretty sure I would not mind making this a reality.
I also looked into going to Yuma, AZ. But there were no 3:10 trains or planes. That is pretty much the only way I'd go. Maybe there's a midnight train to Georgia, but I haven't looked yet.
Today, I've looked into Berlin, CT. There was nothing for me. Ditto with Bryan, OH. I'm looking into Barstow, CA. Don't ask me what's there.
My vagina roars as I listen to my coffeehouse lesbian jams. I will always love Tracy Chapman and Ani DiFranco.
Sirens scream, and I have poems to post.

The song "Git" by Skeletons and The Girl-Faced Boys is so hypnotic.
Pandora just started playing me "Everything is Everything" by Lauryn Hill because it is on shuffle. This song could not have come at a better time for me and my day.
I'm anxious about things I'd rather not discuss. Discussing them makes them real and solidifies exactly how insane it is on the inside of me.
Other things I am anxious about, but it is justified.
I took on a freelance editing project forever ago, under the pretense that I would be in contact with something close to the final draft of a business plan. Everybody knows that I have no business background, but I agreed to it because the person I'm doing it for really seems to think I could do it and I assumed it was just going to be some copy editing. Lo and behold, last Friday rolled around and I had to ask about holes in the content. So I'm asking about subsidiaries, LLCs, market segments, all sorts of things I do not have any sort of clue about. I can barely manage my own finances, let alone know what to do about projected profits, expenses, and the like. So, I'm going to do this job, give her what I can, and after that, go home and seriously rethink my desire for a master's in Media Management.
I'd feel better if I could treat this like academic homework, and not like somebody's life.
I'll be here awhile.

So I'm a social little thing this weekend.
I'm going to a Donkey Show tomorrow. You heard right, a donkey show. Get your mind out of the gutter, skankholes, the theater department at Western is doing a tricked out, disco-fied, interactive version of A Midsummer Night's Dream. That's right, Shakespeare. Stop judging me already.
There's a drag show tonight.
There are a couple shows going on this weekend. I may or may not attend. There's Charlene Kaye tomorrow night, she's got one song I really like, and then I got invited to the show of some guys I hung out with once upon a time. I think those are both tomorrow night.
I'm the party star, I'm popular. I got my own car, I'm popular.
Another hour to go in the only asylum with a (mostly) glass wall.
Yesterday I confused Sonic Youth and The Pixies. Luckily, this was only in my head and nobody heard of my faux pas until now.
Look at the sun!
Speaking of which, wtf happened to The Polyphonic Spree?
I'm writing again, y'all! Look out!

or conversely, things I do with my English degree, part 2.
I decided that "Hotel Chelsea Nights" by Ryan Adams is pretty much an alt-country ripoff of the timeless Prince classic "Purple Rain".
For totally, I'm not even making this up. Google that ish. I am not alone.
I just feel like a tool because the Ryan Adams song came out like 4 years ago, and I just noticed it because Pandora decided to play "Purple Rain" for me. If only I was a working journalist in 2005 with the opportunity to interview Adams about this.
that's all
