The New Music Entertainment Business
(Innovation introduces a partnership between the Music Business & TV/Film Business; New Media brokers the deal!!)

*** Warning the Following may be extremely educational and empowering for aspiring music executives, producers, managers, brand managers, attorneys, music business teachers, fans and non-music entertainment people. ***
Dear Fan Family,
I prepared this email in an effort to educate you in one final attempt to stop the unnecessary comments to my organization and me. I too clearly want the best for Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, which is why I spend so much time working with them in all aspects as well as trying to enlighten you regardless of your continued attacks against Brand Engine Media and me. After all, you are the fans who consume the content that is specifically made for you. I created programs for you based on my admiration and respect for you. From day one in meeting you I have proved this with my actions, not my words. Today, I am bringing you written facts to enhance your understanding of the music entertainment business as it is referred to in current times. This is just a small checklist to reference during your times of frustration regarding the business process of releasing a record in today's business climate. Please note that yesterday’s business models do exist today, but they have been enhanced specifically to please consumers worldwide! Remember most artists and their business teams do not take the time to include you in all that I have included you all in. I repeat this is just a quick list that I created for you as I am at a restaurant eating dinner and unable to concentrate on what is going on in front of me, with these thoughts flowing through my brain.

The Hit List:
A) Music
Artists must have great music content first & foremost. Point Blank!
B) Fan Base
A core fan base is very much needed to support an artist. An artist must do everything possible to engage its current core fan base. It is wiser to focus more on what you have vs. what you don't have! Remember, a brand should never try to be all things to all people. It should be smart and focus on its target, which is its core base!
C) Innovation
Innovation is crucial with respects to creating a new artist movement. New thinking and methods of developing and promoting artists must apply! Artists must be super inventive in today’s blizzard of brands! Out with the old, in with the new is the general consensus amongst mainstream consumers!
D) TV is the New Music Business
Pay attention! Turn on your TV and see the methods of music platforming in front of your very eyes.
E) TV is the New Radio
This simply means music is reaching greater audiences via television, and having a greater impact on music sales than traditional radio.
F) Internet is the New TV
The majority of human eyeballs on earth spends most of their existence viewing the Internet. Do your research. Adults lead the charge, spending the majority of their day on-line at work, the commute home and of course at home. Kids today are viewing content on-line via their P.D.A's. (Personal Digital Assistant) from, during and after school.
G) Radio is the new jukebox
Radio only plays a small list of songs consistently. Turn it on and witness. Only a select few recordings are on the air. Don't get me wrong it's extremely valuable & important but for many reasons, it’s a tough nut to crack! Radio is now corporately owned and operated.
H) Live Show
Interacting with your audience live will always be effective and mandatory in maintaining a dedicated fan base and capturing new fans! Nothing beats the live experience!
I) Social Media Networking
Many people don't understand the power of Facebook, MySpace, and many more sites including the B.T.N.H. Board. Many people don't realize that social networking has become a major lifestyle. Don't believe me, well let me ask you this, what do you call what you are doing now as you read this, and then go talk about what you have just read?

J) Apple (iTunes/applications/premium hardware)
This corporate phenomenon has clearly revolutionized the music business and accelerated the digital lifestyle. ITunes is the number #1 music retailer on the planet and therefore your retail promotion campaign needs to be focused on line!!!! Many major music companies got caught with their pants down when the digital takeover began, and as a result they lost billions of dollars, and had no clue as to how to recover! Years later, the music industry still hasn't figured it out as it struggles to climb its way back up to a respectable standing as an industry! As tastemakers you must be in tune at all times to the lifestyle habits of normal buying people. Regardless of what anyone says people gravitate to the Internet via personal computers or P.D.A’s and real tastemakers know this!! As a tastemaker one must realize how to create content that will resonate with the intended consumer audience, as well as realize the proper mediums to promote it on. Also, one must ask themselves the biggest question of all! How do I promote to my specific target audience and focus on that specific audience? The Internet is the key and Apple knew this! This is why they used music as a magnet to sell their core products, which are its hardware products, their computers, iPhones and iPods that range from $59 to $5,000. They capitalized on the human’s emotion for music and their corporate sophistication has clearly paid off extremely well!
Look at the artists below and their sales this week. You can clearly see who took advantage of the data listed above and who did not. Remember every detailed point. The above information is essential in being successful in today's music business - The Entertainment Business!!!

Clearly some are doing things right, and most are doing things wrong. Susan Boyle (Born April 1, 1961) proves that age is not a factor in selling music content. It’s simple, her target audience, are comprised of adults with disposable income via their jobs, and her content was of major quality. Those adults discovered her via television and the Internet. She has sold 1.2 million records in 2 weeks! Remember these are just US sales and she is not from the US. She is from Scotland. Her business team has taken full advantage of today’s new proven methods and ideology to break music content and Bone's team will remain doing the same.
I enclosed the above content, not to be ridiculed with ignorance, by informing me of the major artistic difference between Bone and Ms. Boyle, but rather to share historic data with you. People laughed at her with rude/heartless comments but she holds the crown for the biggest album of the year in the first week of sales. Instead of everyone coming together and virally attacking the Internet and pushing Bone because you genuinely care about them, you sit back and point fingers at the wrong people - your teammates! Susan Boyle’s fan base joined forces with her business team and made her #1 in the world. Some of you say you've been around for years, and if so you’re being lazy by not pushing them forward on-line. Use the energy spent complaining, on spreading the Bone word virally globally. Newer fans it’s time to step up and stop wasting time beefing, and attack the Internet and tell your friends. The label will do its job in 2010 but one thing is a fact, it starts and ends with the consumer, not the brand manager! Susan Boyle's fans ignored the world and didn't complain they celebrated her to #1. She’s multi-platinum in 2 weeks without traditional marketing. Radio didn't play her! Wake up and look at the facts. Radio will play Bone but radio isn't how Bone became Bone. Bone hasn't gotten old and tired, have you? They are still working their asses off and want to join forces with those who claim to be their hardcore fans. If you truly are, then you should form the biggest Internet street team in history. Why can't you? Why won't you? Cause you’re too busy worrying about my job on the team, instead of worrying about your job on the team! Susan Boyle’s fans got the job done when the world laughed at her!! I bought her album today cause someone from her fan base beat me up and told me, so I bought it for my mother without hearing a song! They strangled me into knowing it was hot so I reacted!! Now she has my sale! Laugh, joke and cuss me out if you want to, but you're only hurting Bone and wasting time in your precious lives. I respect and thank you for helping my favorite rap group of all time stay relevant. Commercialism didn't keep them alive. You did, WE DID, THE FAN FAMILY DID!!! Maybe we can or cannot reach Susan Boyle's early sales numbers but one thing is for sure.... we sure can try!!

The important data I shared above is a clear-cut comprehensive report on how to be successful in the sale of music entertainment content in today’s very delicate industry! Also, I never ever claimed to manage Bone. You claimed it for me! Read the definitions above fan family. I did my job folks and I'm doing it as I provide every single letter of every single word in this email for you to read and understand!

8) Movies (yes, I produced the "I Tried" made for TV movie, and future visual content such as music videos/award show appearances/theatrical movies and more)
I did my job!!!
I created the Facebook page in an effort to join fans with their favorite rap group and the #1 rap group on earth! Why? It's simple; I wanted you all to build a better relationship! This was a win-win situation for everyone. The group raised its profile, while giving back and you were rewarded for your fan loyalty! That is called mutual respect!! No other artists’ brand managers do what I have done in normal circumstances. No they do not!!! Instead of appreciation, most of you attack and complain 24/7! That's not right or good for any of our spirits! We are all humans created equally and that’s how I treated you always!! Remember, managers do not perform the functions of a pure Brand Manager. Please click on the link provided in the Brand Management definition section for pure details of one of the most difficult careers in the world! Before you comment wrongly, do your research and ask yourself, whether or not you could ever be a Brand Manager.
In closing, we must realize that Bone has a lot more fans than just those on Facebook/BTNH Board! Let's do the math. My Facebook page, in case many of you don't know, has 4900 Bone fan. Many of you think there are just 500 from what I've been told. Then add the Facebook fan page (73,000) and MySpace (285,000) & total friends = 362,900. The BTNH board has over 50,000 members, who most are on Facebook/MySpace so those numbers cancel each other out. Bone's last album sold 900,000 plus albums worldwide plus 250,000 DVD movies. Lets subtract the gross fan count from the number of albums sold and that leaves us with a grand total of 537,100 people that bought the album, that aren't in the immediate Fan Family. Remember, a Brand Manager has the knowledge and data of anyone who used a plastic card to buy its product. Hundreds of thousands of people are informed daily directly by my team of Brand Managers. More than 10 people on our team daily interact with millions of people. Our reach is extensive and potent, and that is why Bone hired us, and why we were able to secure the Warner Bros deal on behalf of B.T.N.H. Worldwide. I am sure by now you understand exactly where I am coming from, I hope! Brand Engine and I didn't have the time to do all that we did in bringing Bone and the fan family together, to a much greater level and into a new decade, but we made the time!!! We never had to do this but we did! Our hearts speak louder than words! Brand Engine got its name from the countless hours of working behind the scenes for some of the biggest artists, athletes, executives & lifestyle brands in the world point blank! It is our nature to remain incognito with respects to the Brand Machines that we work for, and simply be part of the mechanisms that move the brands from one point to the next! Brand Management is something that not just anyone can do. Anyone can lace up their sneakers and go play street basketball, but not just anyone can play in the NBA! People all over the world get their hands on an artist and call themselves artist managers, from mothers, fathers, cousins, homeboys, girlfriends, boyfriends, drug dealers, people with money and/or someone they met at the bar who sold them a dream! The industry sunk because of a lack of structure and professionalism and qualified business intellectuals. The major sports leagues will not let anyone call themselves a sports agent and rep their professional athletes. They verify and check all sports agents, who are true professionals. Unfortunately, the music industry isn't a league with true organization and sophisticated business men/women handling artists and this is why so many artists fail. Please go back and look at the successful artist stories, and you will witness record sales, tour sales, merchandise and major entertainment spinoffs. That all equates to powerful artist movements and businesses, not just a hot ringtone here and there. Artists can still win big today just like the 48-year-old debut artist Susan Boyle did, when she shattered the sales record for a debut female recording artist. Susan has a qualified team! Next time you meet or see an artist you like, ask them who represents them, and you will see the artist point to their homeboy or spouse, who is working off a Blackberry out of a car and who can't write a real sentence yet alone a business plan or a profit and loss statement. Oh yeah, don't forget to mention he/she will be the one next to the artist in the club keeping the artist drunk/high, while keeping themselves drunk/high. Real business people don't do that. Brand Managers do none of those things! The point I’m making in saying this, is, that we conduct real business regardless of any vicious attacks and lies. This is business; not party time, not babysitting time, not defamation of character time, not cruel speaking time, not mean spirited time, but rather good, professional business time. We are grateful that some of you took it upon yourselves to know our first names and greet us by them or at times even attack us. We have no ill will towards any of you but enough is enough! We are 100% focusing on what we need to do as a company, here at Brand Engine Media. We feel like we came in and interrupted your flow based on what we've seen, been told and read; therefore, we will remove our presence from these sites and interacting with you. The group now has their own social media presence/sites that we've established for them and they are capable and responsible for managing them. Please know that our intentions were always to better the Bone Thugs-n-Harmony Brand and we have done so in so many ways. WE WANT YOU TO FOCUS ON BONE THUGS-N-HARMONY!!!
