TONITE'S TV HILITES:

Season Premiere: Thursday at 7pm on CBS
Have you been suffering from withdrawal as much as we have?! If so, relax, put on a happy face, and set your DVR! Why? Because TV's most underappreciated and most delicious drama-fest is coming back! (Tour the “Big Brother” house with Julie Chen.) That's right; CBS' annual reality romp, "Big Brother," returns to the airwaves on July 9 with its highly anticipated 11th season (omg, it's been on that long?). And, despite a baby on board, Julie "But first ..." Chen returns to host as the latest batch of misbehaved houseguests compete for your votes and the cool $500,000 grand prize.

Thursday at 8pm on FOX
Now that we've seen the final 12 contestants perform for America's votes, two more dancers will be sent home tonight, leaving the Top 10 to battle it out on the dance floor next week. Which dancers have got the moves, rhythm, and pizzazz to land a spot in the next round? Also tonight, Kelly Rowland and David Guetta perform "When Love Takes Over."

Thursday 7pm on ABC
The series may be winding down but you can still catch a few more episodes of the charming “Samantha Who?” starting with two back-to-back tonight. First at 7pm, Sam is hired by billionaire Winston Funk (guest star Billy Zane) to head his charity foundation, so she decides to bring on pal Andrea as vice president of legal affairs. But Sam soon regrets her decision when Andrea’s all-consuming obsession with planning her wedding becomes top priority over her job. Next at 7:30pm, Todd is wary of Sam’s new job with Winston, who continues his attempt to get the “new” Sam to continue the affair they had before her accident.

SHOWBIZ SCENE:

Kate Beckinsale wanted nothing but the truth and now she finally got it.
Kate Beckinsale

The Underworld star won approximately $32,000 in damages and an apology from a U.K. tabloid over what it admitted were false claims that she was fired from a remake of the 1968 Jane Fonda hit Barbarella.

Judgement day is coming for Edward Furlong's marriage.
Rachel Bella, Edward Furlong
The actor's wife of more than three years, actress Rachael Bella, has filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
The duo, who swapped vows in April 2006, have a 2 1/2-year-old son, Ethan Page. Bella is seeking spousal support and joint custody of their child.

Furlong was barely 13 when he played John Connor opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger's heroic cyborg in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. He's worked pretty steadily ever since, though he's had some personal demons to battle along the way, some of which landed him in rehab several years before his son was born.

It looks like yet another Hills rivalry is here to stay...
Brody Jenner has attempted to end the Twitter-initiated drama between his girlfriend, Jayde Nicole, and fellow Hills costar Audrina Patridge. Unfortunately, his efforts failed.
Audrina Patridge, Jayde Nicole
"I've tried, trust me," the reality hunk told us last night at the launch of the new OP campaign at Mel's Diner in West Hollywood. "I've put a crowbar to it, and that doesn't work. So, not too sure if there's any hope, but we'll see."

And it doesn't sound like Jayde has any intentions of patching things up with Audrina. "Our drama is real," Jayde said. "I really don't want to film with her, to be perfectly honest."

Kate Gosselin's marriage may be crumbling, but her star power seems to be on the rise.
Kate Gosselin
She's been invited by Maria Shriver to attend the Annual Women's Conference.

Also on the list for the October event in Sacramento? Katie Couric, Kelly Preston, Cindy McCain, Elizabeth Edwards and Madeleine Albright.

It may suck the big robot when it comes to the reviews, but the Transformers sequel is also sucking in some serious bank.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
After 14 days in theaters, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has hit the $300 million mark in U.S. ticket sales—second only to last summer's The Dark Knight, which went on to become the second-biggest grossing film of all time behind 1997's Titanic.

By way of comparison, 2007's original Autobots vs. Decepticons battle raked in $319.2 million during its entire domestic theatrical run, and $700 million worldwide.

Since its June 24 release, the very noisy Revenge of the Fallen, starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, has grossed $600 million internationally, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. About 8 percent of the total comes from IMAX screenings.

Looks like Angelina beats Jennifer ... again. Angelina is the top-earning actress in Hollywood, followed by Jen, Meryl Streep, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Cameron Diaz.
Here's The Top 5 And How Much They Made In The Last Year:

Angelina Jolie ($27 million)
Jennifer Aniston ($25 million)
Meryl Streep ($24 million)
Sarah Jessica Parker ($23 million)
Cameron Diaz ($20 million)

HOW TO TELL IF HE'S LYING

Just like bluffing at the poker table, lying is an art. Bottom line, everyone has certain "tells." Pay attention to these insider tips, and you can find out if your guy is being less than upfront.

1. He'll Give You Pause. Ask straightforward questions -- "Where were you last night?" If he pauses or repeats the question before he answers, that's trouble.

2. He's All Thumbs. If he puts his hands in his pocket, including his thumbs, he's feeling nervous. Maybe it's time to figure out why.

3. He Can't Tell A Lie In Reverse. If a story starts to sounds fishy, ask questions that force him to recall events in a different order, making him stray away from the rehearsed story.

4. He'll Shrug At Odd Times. If he's saying something simple -- "I stayed home last night" -- while shrugging, watch out.

5. He'll Hold Your Gaze. In attempts to prove his sincerity, he'll stare into your eyes for an uncomfortable amount of time.

THE MALE ENGAGEMENT RING

Are guys really wearing engagement rings these days? Really?

Well, two years ago, Britain's largest jeweler, H. Samuel, introduced the Tioro -- a titanium ring embedded with a tiny diamond --- designed specifically to be a men's engagement ring.

And recently American jewelers have been designing their own "man-gagement' rings.

According to John Cordova of the Robbins Brothers jewelry superstore, men's engagement rings are gaining in popularity. "We get maybe 20 to 25 inquiries a week from women who want to propose. We've got literally hundreds of possible engagement bands for guys."

Chris Easter, who runs an online wedding registry for grooms called TheManRegistry.com, is a bit more cynical. "Let's be honest. We're in a rough economy.

The groom's engagement band is just a sales tactic invented by jewelers to trick young couples into spending money. I don't think we've reached the point where we'll be seeing a man showing off his shiny new engagement ring to his buddies."

STUDY: Overweight Kids Experience More Loneliness and Anxiety

According to a new study from the University of Missouri, overweight children, especially girls, show signs of the negative consequences of being overweight as early as kindergarten.

Lead researcher Sara Gable explained, "We found that both boys and girls who were overweight from kindergarten through third grade displayed more depression, anxiety and loneliness than kids who were never overweight, and those negative feelings worsened over time."

"Teachers reported that these girls had less positive social relations and displayed less self-control and more acting out than other girls.

ROMANCE: Using Feng Shui To Improve Your Love Life

Feng Shui is an ancient art that instructs us to clear away obstacles in our home and lives -- and supposedly can be used for different goals, including improving love and romance.

Here are some ways to use Feng Shui to improve your love life ... (Hey -- It's worth a shot.)

1. Declutter -- One of the first things to do is get rid of the clutter in your house. Open it up so natural air can flow freely throughout the home. Special areas to pay close attention to are the southwest corners in your home and the bedroom.

2. Add a Greeter to the Bedroom -- A feng shui "greeter" is not an elderly person who gives you a cart at Wal-Mart. Instead, it's the first thing you see when entering a room. Pick out a greeter that embodies romance, love or sexuality. Maybe a statue or a picture.

3. Pair Up -- Eliminate things that are not in pairs. Use two or four candles not one or three.

4. Colors -- Colors are important in Feng Shui. Pink is for romance. Red is for passion. Yellow is for healing. But, use these colors sparingly.

THAT'S LIFE: Road Rage Is Bad For You

Why is it that every time you're in a rush to get somewhere, you get stuck behind a slow driver?

Doesn't that just infuriate you? Or maybe it doesn't.
For many drivers, it's not uncommon to yell or flip the bird at other drivers. But others exhibit a calmer demeanor when sitting behind the wheel.

Psychotherapist Gwen Randall-Young says how we react on the road is a function of one or more aspects of our personality.

For instance, angry and impatient drivers often exhibit signs of being judgmental toward others and have a superiority complex. Basically, you think everyone else is an idiot.

But your road rage is having a negative affect on your well-being. It's raising your blood pressure, giving you headaches, affecting your immune system and making you depressed. Drivers are advised to relax and try not to stress over other drivers.

SHOWBIZ SCENE:

Neverland? Never mind that, for now. But where exactly will Michael Jackson's remains wind up?
Following today's all-star tribute, Jackson's shiny, flower-adorned casket was wheeled out of Los Angeles' Staples Center.
Michael Jackson's Casket
While the family relocated to the Beverly Wilshire Hotel for a private wake, sources say the coffin was transferred to an ambulance, which was accompanied by a Hummer and destined for...

Well, we're not exactly sure, but we have some ideas.
Although Los Angeles police say there won't be a family motorcade back to Forest Lawn Memorial Park, where the Jacksons held a private funeral service earlier today, family friend and unofficial spokesman Majestik Magnificent said that Michael's body is returning to the famous burial grounds, and the cemetery has ordered all press to clear out.

Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe
The actor, who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, recently came down with the possibly fatal virus.

"I thought, 'Am I going to die?' " he told reporters at a London press conference. "But it was just like any other flu, really. I had a sore throat and I went to bed for a few days."

NO MORE LOST CELL PHONES
Everyone's misplaced their cell phone at one time or another -- maybe it's in your gym bag, on top of the fridge, in the pocket of those jeans you wore last night. Or maybe it fell between the couch cushions, along with the remote control.

If no one's around to call your cell phone to help you locate it, just log on to wheresmycellphone.com. It's a free web service that helps you track down that missing cell. You type in your cell number and the service calls your phone with a new, and then tries to sell you ringtones!

LIFE IS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER ... REALLY

There's no getting around it ... the nightly news is depressing.

The economy stinks. America's enemies are building big bombs. Celebrities are dying. It's easy to be depressed by all that's going on.

But, don't!

The truth of the matter is that life just continues to get better and better. All we have to do is think about it and appreciate it.

1. Sure, American car companies like General Motors are struggling, but in total, the cars we drive today are more reliable and affordable than ever before.

2. Growing up, most people had one television -- that maybe had 30 channels of cable. If they were lucky. Today, many people have a TV in every room -- and 150 channels coming off the satellite dish.

3. In the "old days," we had to plunk quarters into a Pac-Man video game machine. Today, we have spectacular gaming systems hooked up to our hi-def 60-inch flat screens.

DATING SCENE: Lousy Economy Creating Love Connections

According to relationship experts, the sputtering economy is causing more and more single people to find a companion.

On the matchmaking website eHarmony.com, membership is up 20 percent despite monthly fees of up to $60. Activity has soared 50 percent since September at OkCupid.com.

At the end of the day, it's very primal. When we're under stress and feeling fearful, we're hard-wired to find companionship. We don't want to face the cruel world alone.

MONEY MATTERS: Money & Marriage

So, you're getting married soon -- you've probably thought about your wedding, your honeymoon, whether or not you're gonna change your name. But do you know what happens to your credit report when you get married? There are tons of misconceptions about merging credit reports. Credit.com clears up the confusion for us:

1. Your credit reports DON'T merge when you get married. Credit reports go by Social Security number. Your SSNs don't merge into one number when you get hitched ... neither do your credit scores!

2. Marriage will NOT lower your credit scores. Nothing automatically changes on your credit report when you get married.

3. Your credit history is NOT erased if you change your name. You will not have to start from scratch with a new credit history.

4. Your spouse's bad credit will NOT hurt you. Your spouse's credit history has no impact on your credit. But information will be shared on both of your credit reports when you open a joint account and it will definitely affect you if you try to buy a house or car.

5. You won't automatically become a joint user on your spouse's accounts. If you wish to be added to your spouse's credit cards, you will need to call the creditors with this request

Along the way the teams will compete in a variety of comical games and challenges that will lead to one family's elimination every week, and one family's victory at the end of the season.

SHOWBIZ SCENE:

As befitting the King of Pop, Michael Jackson will forever be part of Hollywood's starriest constellation...eventually.
Michael Jackson, Memorial, Press, Forest Lawn Mortuary
Guests from the Jackson family home in nearby Encino arrived at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at approximately 8:15 a.m. The venue is swarming with media and police as 10 helicopters hover overhead.
The heavy police presence at Forest Lawn began last night, as the Jacksons gathered for a wake.
But this morning ceremony will not include a burial.

Instead, immediately after the private funeral, Jackson's coffin will be transported 11 miles away to Los Angeles' Staples Center for the public memorial.

Kal Penn is writing his own ticket in Washington, D.C.
Kal Penn
The 32-year-old actor, fresh from killing himself off of House, on Monday reported for his first day as an associate director in the White House's Office of Public Liaison, where he'll represent the Obama administration in matters concerning the arts community and the president's Asian-American constituents.
Penn has said that he's on a sabbatical from acting and will be devoting the next year or so to politics.

The New Jersey-born star of Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay will be going by his nonstage name, Kalpen Modi, while toiling on the Beltway.

"I expect to be treated just like any other staff member," he told reporters today. This morning, "I brushed my teeth. I did floss, used mouthwash...took the bus to work, same thing that everybody does."

Office star Jenna Fischer has gotten engaged to her boyfriend, writer Lee Kirk, while they were on vacation in Europe last week.
Jenna and Lee have been dating for about a year and a half. This will be Jenna's second marriage. She divorced director James Gunn in July 2007.

GETTING INTO THE RIGHT GENES

MEN AND WOMEN ARE LOYAL CUSTOMERS -- JUST IN DIFFERENT WAYS
It has long been believed by marketing experts that women are more loyal customers than men.
According to a recent study published in the Journal of Marketing women are more loyal than men to individual service providers, like hairdressers. But men are more loyal to groups and companies, like barbershops. For women, it's their actual hairdresser they are loyal to. For guys, they don't care who in the barbershop cuts their hair -- but they are loyal to the shop itself.

The researchers endorse the theory that female self-identity is based on close INDIVIDUAL relationships, and male self-identity is all about less intimate group relationships. Guys have "buddies," while women have BFFs.

HEALTH: Stress Less

New statistics say 8 in 10 Americans are anxious about the recession. Weight Watchers magazine offers these quick tips for helping to reduce your stress level:
1. Minimize the morning scramble. Designate a place near your front door for essentials like keys, wallet and cell phone so you can grab them quickly on your way out.

2. Streamline your work space. No need for major organizing -- just make 3 piles: "File," "To Do" and "Toss" -- then tackle them one at a time.

3. Clear your head at the office. Take a 15-minute walk when you're burned out or stuck on a problem. Add a few light stretches (like neck rolls) to help ease tension.

4. Treat yourself to some "me" time. At the end of a busy day, make time to unwind with your favorite relaxing activity -- like reading, or gardening, or watching a movie.
----------------------------------------
TRAVEL: Standing-Room Flights?

If you thought air travel couldn't possibly get any less comfortable, think again. The head of discount carrier Ryan Air, who once proposed that passengers be charged for bathroom use, is now floating the idea of standing-room tickets on certain flights.
The company's CEO wants Boeing to build a special standing-room-only jet so fliers can sit on stools instead of regular seats -- which would allow them to cram 30 percent more customers on their planes.

In response to a question about safety, a Ryan Air spokesman said, "Passengers wouldn't be fully standing; they would have something like a stool to lean on or to sit on." Oh, much better ...

SELF-HELP: Positive Affirmations Aren't For Everybody

In troubled times, many Americans turn to self-help books in search of encouragement, guidance and self-affirmation. Many of these books instruct the reader to say things like, "I am a lovable person" or "I will succeed," in order to improve a person's low self-esteem and push them into positive action.

But, according to a recent study in Psychological Science, these statements can actually have the OPPOSITE effect on some people.

Canadian researchers found that individuals with low self-esteem actually felt worse about themselves after repeating positive self-statements. And, individuals with high self-esteem felt better -- but only slightly.

Lead researcher Joanne Wood said, "Repeating positive self-statements may benefit certain people such as individuals with high self-esteem, but backfires for the very people who need them the most."

SIGN OF THE TIMES: Teens Paid To Not Get Pregnant

A program in North Carolina is paying teenage girls to not get pregnant.

College Bound Sisters is the name of the program that is trying to keep 12- to 18-year-old girls from getting pregnant.

Participants in the program attend 90-minute meetings every week. And, each week that they do not get pregnant $7 dollars is deposited in a bank account.

That's a dollar a day!

The money can only be collected when they enroll in college.

Amy and Marty Wolff may have lost on The Biggest Loser, but their gains have been exponentially greater.
The couple, who met on the weight-loss competition's third cycle in 2007 and were married in March 2008, welcomed their first child Saturday morning, according to People.
Amy Wolff, Marty Wolff
Son Blaine Patrick Wolff arrived at Alegent Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Neb. He weighed in at a sizable 10 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 22.5 inches long.

"We are all doing great," the new mom told the magazine, "and are enjoying getting to know each other."

The Rev. Al Sharpton thinks Michael Jackson deserves to be honored commensurate with his star status. That means a postage stamp, a national day of mourning—and deferential treatment from the media.
Al Sharpton, Joe Jackson
In advance of Tuesday's memorial, Sharpton appeared Sunday as a guest speaker at Los Angeles' First AME church. He announced to parishioners that he would push for a commemorative Jackson stamp and a waiver of the U.S. Postal Service's five-year waiting period, postdeath. (The only exception so far has been for late presidents.)

Sharpton also took issue with how certain press outlets have covered Jackson's death, saying there was a "disrespectful double standard" between the "Thriller" singer and other fallen icons such as Frank Sinatra or Elvis Presley.

"I'm here because of the disgraceful and the despicable way [the media] is trying to destroy the legacy [of Jackson]," Sharpton said.

Jon and Kate Gosselin may have announced their independence from each other and the media recently, but that didn't stop the reality-TV duo from having Fourth of July fireworks fun with their eight tykes.
Jon Gosselin, Kate Gosselin
The Gosselin brood brought out their sparklers Saturday evening—with one of the sextuplets donning a holiday-appropriate American flag shirt and shorts to celebrate. As the kids played, Jon spent an hour lighting fireworks in front of the ex-couple's home.

Jon was even spotted laughing with Kate at one point. An eyewitness says, "It's the first time I've seen Jon genuinely smile in a long time."

However, fans shouldn't get to excited for a reconciliation just yet.

Says the source, the holiday's events were "obviously for the kids."

Dinosaurs versus giant robots—now there's an even match.
Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs
And so it was at the weekend box office, where the tracking firm Exhibitor Relations declared the race "too close to call," with the studios behind Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen both estimating $42.5 million grosses.

Johnny Depp's Public Enemies debuted with an estimated $26.2 million, on the high side for grown-up movies, circa 2009, if not on the high side of projections.

Not all the magic in Hogwarts could save Rupert Grint from catching the dreaded swine flu.
Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, Rupert Grint
The Harry Potter star, who plays Harry's best friend Ron Weasley, is recovering from a mild case of the illness, according to the BBC.

But Grint's doctor confirmed that the 20-year-old thesp was no longer contagious, and the wizard-in-training's publicist says the actor is back at work on the set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows—the film based on the last book in J.K. Rowling's popular fantasy series.

The next edition in the film series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, hits theaters July 15.

WEDDING SONGS TO SKIP
Planning a wedding? TheKnot.com advises you to steer away from these classic wedding reception songs -- no matter how popular they are:

1. "YMCA" -- Better suited for sporting events and bar-mitzvahs.

2. "Chicken Dance" -- At a wedding, everyone looks and feels good. Is that really the best time to flap your arms like a chicken in front of that hot groomsman? Uh ... no.

3. "Macarena" -- Everyone has a relative they'd rather NOT see swiveling their hips.

4. "My Heart Will Go On" -- Titanic made this song a total cliche. And don't forget ... the guy DIED in the movie ... a bit tragic for a wedding.

5. "Mony Mony" -- No one knows what the song's about but everyone finds it annoying.

6. "Every Breath You Take" -- This song reminds us of awkward high school dances. Plus, the line "I'll be watching you" is a bit stalker-ish.

MARRIAGE MAKES YOU FAT

Desperate to get married? Well, here's something to think about ... Getting married will make you fat! According to researchers at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, married people are twice as likely to become obese as those who are merely dating.

Same goes for those of you who are not married but living together. And how's this for unfair? The study found that unmarried women living with someone for up to five years face a 63% increased chance of obesity while their male counterparts face no increased risk at all.

THE SEVEN-YEAR ITCH ONLY TAKES THREE YEARS THESE DAYS
The seven-year itch isn't what it used to be. In the past, it was believed that husbands and wives grew tired of their spouses after spending seven years together. New research now suggests that the spark may fizzle after only three years.

Researchers broke couples into two groups, those who were together for one to three years and the those who were together for four to six years.

While the scientists couldn't find a precise turning point, they found a distinct difference between the groups.

"We know the earlier ones are happier," said Professor Kelly Musick of the University of Southern California. "The initial boost that marriage seems to provide fades over time."

Research also showed that the average time that first marriages last before ending in divorce is still a little more than seven years, which means that those couples will probably spend more than half their married lives less happy than they were when they said, "I do."

"Some folks start getting less happy at the wedding reception," said co-author Larry Bumpass.

DIET: Fight BBQ Belly Bulge

Did you go a little overboard barbeque hopping and celebrating our independence this weekend?
Here are six "beat the bloat tips" to soothe your stomach, help you lose a little water weight, and keep your post-cookout calories in check.

1. Skip the salt -- Add zing to food with salt-free blends ... try Mrs. Dash or other salt-free seasonings.
You're probably retaining some extra water after one too many potato chips, which can make you feel sluggish and puffy. Ditch the salt and watch the water weight melt.

2. Stick to water -- Carbonated sodas have calories or artificial sweeteners and bubbles that can end up in your belly. Stay cool by sipping plain ol' H2O or try adding a splash of juice for some refreshing flavor (with fewer calories, less sugar and hydrating power).

3. Up the protein, lower the carbs -- Swap two slices of white bread on your sandwich for one of whole grain. Skip pretzels and go with nuts or seeds (try a handful of almonds to curb your hunger). And if you're craving carbs, try quinoa [Pr:keen-wah] or brown rice. Refined carbs can boost your bloat because your body stores extras with extra water.

4. Cook your veggies -- Sound strange? A half-cup of cooked carrots has the same nutrition as one cup raw, but it takes up less space in your gut. If you're battling plain old bloat (as opposed to extra pounds) avoid gas-producers like broccoli and cauliflower.

5. Season with belly-friendly flavors -- Lay off the barbecue sauce and garlic while de-bloating. Try bold flavors with in-season herbs like dill, basil, mint, sage, tarragon and rosemary. Use summery citrus like lemon and lime -- perfect for fish or chicken.

Avoid the spicy stuff (black pepper, chili powder, onions, mustard, vinegar ...) which can cause extra stomach acid.

6. Chomp seeds not gum -- Reach for some nuts, like roasted or raw unsalted sunflower seeds. You can swallow air when you chew gum, and that air gets trapped in your gut causing pressure and bloat.

Follow these tips, banish the bloat, and be back on track in plenty of time to put on your bathing suit and enjoy the rest of summer!

HEALTH: Filthy Things You Touch Every Day

One person in the office gets the flu, and soon everybody on their floor has it. And as paranoid as people think they are about germs these days, with their antibacterial lotions and careful hand-washing, the truth is most of us still have no idea where we're picking up these germs.

But if you carried around a microscope everywhere you went, there are a whole lot of everyday things you'd be a lot more hesitant to reach out for.

1. Soap -- Liquid soap in public restrooms is often contaminated by employees refilling the dispensers. (Good news ... the fancier dispensers with sealed, disposable bags inside are clean.)

2. Money -- Money has the ability to absorb whatever it comes in contact with, and there are plenty of bills out there floating around with drugs and germs on them.

3. Computer Keyboard -- The average office toilet seat has around 49 germs per square inch. The average keyboard has 3,925.

4. Phone -- Phones make the average keyboard look tame by comparison. The average office phone has a whopping 25,127 germs per square inch.

STUDY: Teenagers Don't Believe They Are Invincible

A new study has come out that contradicts the widely held belief that teens believe they are invincible.
Researchers at the University of Minnesota found that teenagers who engaged in risky behaviors such as drug use, fighting and unsafe sex were more likely to believe that they would die young than those who didn't.

It's not that they thought the behaviors weren't risky. It's as if they knew the behaviors were risky and expected to suffer the consequences.

Lead researcher Iris Borowsky explained, "The conventional wisdom has been that teens underestimate their risk, but there are also studies showing that they are no worse than adults at perceiving their vulnerability to risk and that they tend to overestimate their risk of dying."

SURVEY SAYS: Getting Old Isn't As Bad As We Think

We're all marching toward getting old, but according to a new survey, getting old isn't nearly as bad as people think it will be.
The Pew Research Center conducted the survey on aging. They asked young and middle-aged adults what they thought old age would be like -- and then asked old people what it actually was like.

Across the board, old people said it wasn't as crappy as young people think it will be.

How Old is Old ...?

Another question asked was, "When does old age begin?"

Respondents aged 18 to 29 believe that the average person becomes old at age 60.

Middle-aged respondents said it was closer to 70.

Those aged 65 and above say that the average person does not become old until turning 74.

SHOWBIZ SCENE:

The last video shot of Michael Jackson in preparation for his This Is It! tour shows what might have been.
Two days before he died, the fallen hitmaker tore into "They Don't Care About Us"—a sentiment the King of Pop's fans probably can't identify with.
..
While tour organizer AEG Live has started refunding the roughly $85 million worth of tickets that were sold for Jackson's 50-night London run, it turns out scalpers are still cashing in on the scuttled comeback series because AEG is also offering buyers the option of claiming the one-of-a-kind, Jackson-designed tickets as souvenirs.

"It is one of the hottest items on the memorabilia market right now," says a source working on the AEG-sanctioned refunding process. "People realize they can get more money selling them to collectors than getting a refund."

Tickets to the O2 arena shows are selling for as much as $400 on sites like eBay and Gumtree.com—a London-based equivalent of Craigslist.

After Robert Pattinson confirmed he was signed on for the fourth Twilight installment, Breaking Dawn, back in Cannes, we've all been dying for more juicy deets on the hypersexualized film. (More on exactly how much naughtier the flick will be, next week.)
Twilight Cast, MTV Movie Awards
Yes, we know we're getting overeager since the script for the third flick, Eclipse, which starts shooting Aug. 17, hasn't even been finished yet.
"I haven't seen a page," exclaimed Ashley Greene, who's heading back up to Vancouver to shoot the third Twi flick this summer.

Everyone knows that Rihanna is a tattoo trendsetter.
Just ask Lindsay Lohan and Lily Allen. (Or on second thought, don't.)
Rihanna
But last night three lucky people at New York City's East Side Ink got brand-new tattoos inked by the "Umbrella" singer herself.
"She came by to hang out with us and her regular tattoo artist Bang Bang," says East Side Ink owner Yadira. "He decided he wanted to get a tattoo from her, and then two of the other artists decided they wanted to get one as well."

Riri gave her buddy and the other artists one of her signature signs.

"She tattooed us for a change," says Yadira. "It's a little umbrella with a capital R underneath it. The second and third had a number two and a number three next to it."

But according to the NYC Health Department, tattooing without a license is illegal.

"Only licensed tattoo artists can administer tattoos in the city according to the City's Health Code," says spokeswoman Erin Brady.

Still, Yadira says it's only illegal if she is making a profit. And as for Rihanna facing any legal drama, an NYPD spokeswoman tells E! News. "Someone would have to make a complaint. There's been none that we know of."

Now here's a diff'rent stroke that isn't right for anybody.
Gary Coleman, Shannon Price
Gary Coleman's wife, Shannon Price, was arrested Wednesday in Santaquin, Utah, on suspicion of domestic violence and disorderly conduct, the Utah County Sheriff's Office confirms to E! News.
The duo have a home in Santaquin, but it's not known for sure whether Coleman was the target of the alleged attack.
Price has since been released on a $1,205 bond. A rep for Coleman has not yet commented on the bust.
The former child star quietly married Price in August 2007 but had started divorce proceedings—which included an appearance on Divorce Court—by April 2008.

JULY 4TH: Trivia

Did You Know ...?
One out of 10 Americans does not know the name of or words to our National Anthem. (It's "The Star Spangled Banner" -- in case you're one of them!)

Three U.S. presidents died on Independence Day. Both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died on July 4, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the
Declaration of Independence. James Monroe died five years later on July 4, 1831.

One President was born on the Fourth of July: Calvin Coolidge.

The Battle of Bunker Hill, one of the earliest battles in the American Revolution, was actually fought on nearby Breed's Hill. The site of this battle was in Charlestown, Massachusetts, across the Charles River from Boston.

The final battle of the Revolutionary War was the Battle of Yorktown. In the Battle of Yorktown, September 28th to October 19th, 1781, General George Washington's army defeated Lord Cornwallis' British army, resulting in the surrender of the British and the end of the war. Reportedly, a British band played a song called "The World Turned Upside-Down" when the soldiers laid down their arms.

The Bald Eagle was officially declared the National Emblem of the United States by the Second Continental Congress in 1782. It was selected by the Founding Fathers because it is a species unique to North America.

Benjamin Franklin wanted the wild turkey to be the national bird, because he thought the eagle was of bad moral character.

George Washington's teeth were not made of wood -- as is widely held. They were actually made of elephant and walrus tusks.

Other tidbits about our first president: George Washington liked to explore caves ... liked to eat cream of peanut soup ... and had a dog named Sweet Lips.

Thomas Jefferson read the Bible in four different languages: Latin, Greek, English, and French
Thomas Jefferson introduced French fries to the colonies in the late 1700s. The original name for French fries was "potatoes, fried in the French manner," which is how Jefferson described the dish.

JULY 4TH: Fireworks Safety

Fourth of July means fireworks! It can also mean fireworks-related injuries.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), an entity of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), "Annually just under 10,000 Americans are injured by fireworks."

So if you're going to be around fireworks this July 4th weekend, the USFA offers these fireworks safety tips:

1. The best way to enjoy fireworks is to visit public fireworks displays put on by professionals who know how to safely handle fireworks.

2. If you plan to use fireworks, make sure they are legal in your area.

3. Never light fireworks indoors or near dry grass.

4. Always have a bucket of water and/or a fire extinguisher nearby. Know how to operate the fire extinguisher properly.

5. Do not wear loose clothing while using fireworks.

6. Stand several feet away from lit fireworks. If a devise does not go off, do not stand over it to investigate it. Put it out with water and dispose of it.

7. Always read the directions and warning labels on fireworks. If a device is not marked with the contents, direction and a warning label, do not light it.

8. Supervise children around fireworks at all time.
Apparently reconciled since, Coleman got in a scuffle at a Utah bowling alley in December when a guy tried to snap cell phone pics of him and the missus. He ultimately pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct and reckless driving.
