SAT.AUG.01: Cycled over 2 OSHEAGA MUSIC FESTIVAL. Moon 2 the left; Fireworks 2 the right; COLDPLAY center stage ... priceless. A perfect day for the festival. Also saw JASON MRAZ, THE ROOTS, CHINATOWN, LYKKE LI (from Sweden). Sunny, warm and a great turnout. AFTER the COLDPLAY concert wrapped got snagged in the vast line queued up at the metro (subway) station thus it took a good half-hour to finally get to where my bicycle was locked up and head for home.
Afternoon: Went for cycle. Stopped into Beach Volleyball. Stopped into Atwater Market. Baby blueberries ... yummy.Stopped into Metro Plus grocery store. Praline ice cream ... decadent.
Morning: Mucho

OUT & ABOUT:
---> Saturday
July 11: Surprisingly sunny for the morning. Pinch me. Got in a walk
and yoga workout in the park B4 getting on with producing episode # 127
of THE EARTHLOUNGE at my home studio. Made it into the radio station
for 2:30 pm. Deliver the program. Then we got dished a serious cloud
burst through Le Plateau and Downtown. The drains runneth over.
However, the robins outside my digs were lovin it ... more worms to
feast on.
---> Friday
July10: Up early (OK, that was a challenge) to take the car into the
garage for an oil change and inspection. Gorgeously sunny day. Got a
few buddies to head over to 365 Volleyball in the afternoon where we
played 2 x 2 all afternoon. Most excellent. Literally met a lady who
can skate circles around me. On in-line skates vs. the proverbial
"skated circles around me." lol ... awesome. Wrapped the evening with
friends enjoying an excellent summer night.
---> Thursday July
9: At last, SUMMER shows up. Enjoyed the summer sun and 25Celsius
weather. Cycled up to the radio station in the afternoon tosnag my
interview with Eric Ferland of Groupe Ecosphere. Interview was used for
episode # 127 of The Earth Lounge on Saturday July 11. Aye,Doesn't get

--->Wednesday July 8: Evening of Beach Volleyball @ 365 Volleyball playing for my team the SOBs.

KOGNAX, won the game 7-6 hanging on after letting a 6-0 1st inning lead
slip away into a nail biter (2) It didn't friggen rain this Monday for
a change unlike EVERY previous game we'd played @ Le Ber this season.
Had sufficient time to fit in the Budokon class B4 the softball game @
Zazen Spa.

MON. JULY 6: Well the good weather of Sunday dissipated by Monday. Downtown in the afternoon to run a few errands and shop. Caught the 5:45 pm Advanced Budokon class @ Zazen Spa. Loked like rain again for our Monday night softball game but we got lucky this time. For the 9:30 pm game @ Le Ber park in Point St. Charles the rain held off other than a few sprinkles. The puddles in the outfield from the previous week had dried up. A tight game but we won it 7-6 giving the Kognax a 5-1 record in the season. We caught some extra batting practice until midnight when they turned the park lights off.

SUN. JULY 5: Up and at em early! The human body can be quite resilient can't it at times? Celebrated J-4 with Jaegermeister Shots and what not on Saturday night. With Quebec's St, Jean holiday June 24, Canada Day July 1, and USA Independence Day on July 4 we have 3 big holidays bunched in together, None the worse for wear from the soiree I was up and into mischief early Sunday, Much to one's surprise, an even better discovery than not waking up with a hang over, was that it was actually a decent day of weather! For summer 2009 that is like a freak weather occurrence. Sunny, breezy, 20-25 Celsius (70-75 f.)
Enjoyed the day pretty much outside. BUDOKON workout in the Old Port Park. Some cute kid like 5-years old came over to show his martial arts moves while i was practicing. LMAO. When his mom strolled over she informed me the kid is doing Karate classes. Pretty cool they start them that young into Martial Arts. Fighting an wrestling in the school yard (sometimes kid's horseplay, sometimes you were in trouble) was the only fight training I got until we were introduced to Greco-Roman wrestling in high school gym classes. Low to the ground heffers always ruled thse wrestling contests.
Ended the afternoon at a local cafe. Sunday night baseball B4 heading down to the Jazz Festival to catch the tail end of the big-ass Patrick Watson concert (local boy made it big) and then onto the Loto Quebec Stage where its all about DA BLUES. Enjoyed a frosty while listening to Steve Strongman and his band from Hamilton, Ontario doing a set from 11:00 pm to midnight.

Wednesday July 1, 2009: HAPPY CANADA DAY! The NHL Habs celebrated by adding Brian Gionta (New Jersey) and Michael Cammelleri (Calgary) in the Free Agent Frenzy after acquiring a 1t line Center in Scotty Gomez from the Rangers in a trade that sent Cristopher Higgins to NYC. Blah, blah, blah did Canada Day stuff then cycled over to 365 Volleyball to play our evening of Beach Volleyball matches for my team, the SOBs. The rain heald anyway despite thunder. The CFL Alouettes beat the Stampeders in their first face-to-face since Montreal lost the Grey Cup to Calgary AT HOME back in fall 2008. Our Als took this one. Nize start to the Season.

TUE. JUNE 30:
Figures, sunny the day after our softball game. Another mid-week stat
holiday coming on Wednesday. This time Canada Day. Always entertainment
in the Old Port right near where I live. Stevie Wonder scheduled
Tuesday evening for the launch of the Montreal Jazz Fest with a big-ass
freebie concert in the street. Worked from the home office and the
cafe. An evening meeting on my agenda.
Cycled up to the Le Plateau borough for the meeting @ 6:30 pm. Attended the Board of Directors meeting for the community radio station, CINQ FM 102.3, where I am a show producer and host but also was elected as a member of the board (or CA in French) for 2009.
CFL Alouettes set to start the
season on Canada Day in Calgary. Go ALS Go! That new roof on the Wimbledon tennis
centre court in England is pretty slick. Uh-Oh-Ah. Beats anything we
did with Olympic Stadium for a retractable roof.
NHL Free Agent Frenzy
for July 1 could make for hordes of deals. Based on contract offers
sent out or not sent out kinda looked like Saku Koivu won't be back for
the Habs next season. Much speculation which as fans we all dig. What
is certain is that we'll be seeing several new faces on the Habs bench
come the 2009-2010 season.
I can relate to that as a UFA, Unrestricted
Free Agent, myself. Between contracts for my Management - Solutions
Consulting Business and wrapping my radio program's season. Have 2 more
radio shows to produce B4 I take my summer hiatus after the July 11
episode #127 of The Earth Lounge.
