So, today was a long day.

Today I attended the funeral services for the fallen Rialto police officer who died last week.

I worked with him, joked with him and laughed with him. He will be missed.

This was my second police funeral. This one was much grander than the first one. Having the freeways and streets blocked off for our caravan of police vehicles was surreal. As our caravan went down the 10 freeway the CHP was kind enough to hold up all traffic for us. I know it must have been a big inconvenience for those stuck on the on-ramp to the freeway, but most of them were out of their cars and saluting us or had their hands over their hearts. It was very touching. It seemed as though every fire department we went by was at attention for us or saluting us. That was real nice of them.

The funeral service in Chino was very nice. One of our officers gave a very memorable eulogy. The bagpipes at the end were the saddest part for me. The burial service in Colton was also very nice. The Sheriff's Department and I think SBPD did a flyby with about 5 or six helicopters as were were saluting which was amazing. The rifles of the honor guard fired, and then the bagpipes did amazing grace.

It was great to see some old friends I had not seen since I left Rialto PD. It made me realize how much I miss law enforcement.

Thank you to all the police departments that attended, Redlands PD, Ontario PD, SBPD, SBSO, Fontana PD, Irvine PD, Tustin PD, Marshall's Office, FBI, DEA, Colton PD, Long Beach PD, LAPD, and those are just a few I remember seeing, there were many many more, plus all the fire departments. Special thanks to Fontana PD who honored us on the freeway overpass and Colton Fire who did an amazing salute for us on top their engine on another freeway overpass. And thanks to my troops who I got to spend this time with, you know who you are.

It was a great send off for a great man. I'm honored I was able to be a part of it. Rest in peace Sir.

OK, SO, I WAS SEARCHING THE INTERNET TRYING TO FIND A FREE PROGRAM I COULD DOWNLOAD TO HELP WITH MY WEB-COMIC, G.I. JOKERS. I CAME ACROSS THIS ONE PHOTO FIXER UPPER THING-A-MA-BOB AND I STARTED TO USE IT ON SOME DRAWINGS OF MINE I HAD SCANNED INTO THE COMPUTER A LONG TIME AGO TO TEACH MYSELF HOW TO USE THE PROGRAM. I ENDED UP DIGITALLY PAINTING (I GUESS) 6 OF THEM. I'M SO PROUD OF MYSELF BECAUSE THIS LEVEL OF TECHNOLOGY IS WAAAAY BEYOND ME LOL. SO HERE THEY ARE FOR ALL TO SEE!

THIS ONE IS MY LEAST FAVORITE. IT LOOKS LIKE A GIANT BLUR. I COULDN'T DO ANY DETAIL BECAUSE FOR SOME REASON THE SIZE OF THE ORIGINAL SCAN WAS REALLY SMALL. I DO LIKE HOW THE PHEONIX FIRE THINGY CAME OUT THOUGH.

THIS ONE OF THE INVISIBLE WOMAN IS MY SECOND LEAST FAVORITE. I USED A MODEL WHEN I DREW THIS INITIALLY. IT WAS THIS ITALIAN GIRL I MET WHO HAD GIGANTIC, BUT PRETTY, EYES. I WAS NEVER HAPPY WITH HOW IT TURNED OUT THOUGH.

The Baghdad School Project is a non-profit group started by my brother and a few other people through his school, UC Irvine. The mission of this group, which I am involved with as well, is to raise money for, purchase, and send items that are needed in the Baghdad educational system. For a more accurate and in depth look at the project please visit this web site:

And now I present the grand finale of blog-o-poluza summer '06 in part four of my extravaganza! LETS GET RIGHT TO IT!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS IS A PAINFULL SKETCH OF A MASTERPEICE DONE BY RAPHAEL. WE ALL SUCK COMPARED TO HIM.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
STILL LIFE OF A BOOT, WINE BOTTLE, AND WALNUT.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
CLOSEUP OF THE PREVIOUS STILL LIFE.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
CHARCOAL STILL LIFE. YES, THATS A TOY OF THE DINOSAUR FROM TOY STORY WHICH GIVES YOU A PRETTY GOOD IDEA OF WHEN I DID THIS.

I DON'T KNOW WHY, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS TONS OF PLASTIC FRUIT LAYING AROUND ART STUDIOS. THEY MUST GET A DISCOUNT OR SOMETHING. HERE ARE LOTS OF DRAWINGS OF VARIOUS PLASTIC FRUITS.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
IT'S A TOMATO! YES A TOMATO IS A FRUIT.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
IT'S A PUMPKIN! AND...WHAT? A WALNUT TOO?!? SCORE.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
OH SNAP! IT'S APPLE TIME SUCKAS. WORD.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS WAS MY FIRST EVER WORK DONE WITH PASTELS, AND AS YOU CAN SEE, IT TURNED OUT PRETTY CRAPPY. I DO KINDA LIKE THE SHADING ON THE PUMPKIN THOUGH.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS IS A PORTAIT OF SOME OLD LADY WHO WANDERED INTO THE CLASS AND THE TEACHER GOT HER TO STAY. SHE WAS NICE.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS IS A BALL. AS IN...BALL...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
A BROWN PAPER BAG DONE IN CHARCOAL.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I HATE DRAWING HANDS AND FEET. BUT I ACTUALLY LIKE HOW THESE FEET CAME OUT. I FORGOT WHOSE FEET THEY ACTUALLY WERE THOUGH.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST A RETURN TO THE BADDEST SAINT EVER, ST. GEORGE, DRAGONSLAYER. THIS IS A SKETCH OF A SCULPTURE THAT WAS DONE BY DONATELLO. THE OUTER ARCH AND PEDISTAL IS ALSO PART OF THE SCULPTURE AND IS WAY MORE DETAILED THAN THE WAY I DREW IT.

AND THUS WE COME TO THE END OF THIS GREAT JOURNEY. IT'S OVER NOW, IT SEEMS. OR AT LEAST UNTIL YESTERDAY BEGINS AGAIN, TOMORROW!

BLOG-ARMAGEDDON CONTINUES! PART 3 OF THIS EXTRAVAGANZA IS HERE. BEHOLD THE SIGHTS UNSEEN BY MERE MORTALS IN YEARS. THE FOLLOWING ARE ALL FROM MY ART SCHOOL DAYS. ONWARD!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
WE DREW SOOO MANY SKULLS IT WASN'T EVEN FUNNY. BUT THIS ONE, AND THE NEXT ONE TURNED OUT THE BEST I THINK.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
YEP. IT'S A SKULL ALRIGHT.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS IS A PORTAIT OF SOME OLD MAN. WHO KNOWS IF HE IS STILL ALIVE. I CALL THIS ONE 'PORTRAIT OF OLD MAN' FOR OBVIOUS REASONS.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I REMEMBER WANTING TO STAB SOMETHING WHILE I WAS TRYING TO DO THIS ONE. DRAWING PAPER BAGS SUCKS!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS IS JUST A STILL LIFE STUDY, NOT MEANT TO BE A FINISHED WORK. WE WERENT ALLOWED TO USE PENCIL, ONLY INK.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
SAME WORK AS ABOVE, JUST A DIFFERENT PIC OF IT, I COULDNT DECIDE WHICH PICTURE SHOWED IT BETTER.

THESE NEXT TWO WERE DONE WITH THESE THINGS CALLED PASTELS. THEY ARE LIKE REALLY OILY CRAYONS, BUT NOT. THEY ARE HARD TO DESCRIBE. IT IS BASICALLY LIKE PAINTING, BUT NOT. I LOVED THEM.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THE ONLY THING I LIKE ABOUT THIS ONE IS THE CHILE. I THINK THATS A BADASS CHILE IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF. EVERYTHING ELSE LOOKS OFF I THINK.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
AND CONTINUING WITH THE PLASTIC FRUIT WE HAVE A YELLOW BELL PEPPER. THREE CHEERS FOR PRIMARY COLORS!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
KEEN EYED CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE WHICH BUILINGS THESE ARE ON CAMPUS. THIS ONE ISNT FROM ART SCHOOL, JUST FROM AN ART CLASS I TOOK AT THAT SCHOOL. THE ASSIGNMENT WAS TO DRAW A LANSCAPE OF THE BUILDINGS WITHOUT A RULER OR STRAIGHT EDGE, AND WE ONLY HAD LIKE 20 MINUTES. PRETTY FUN.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS IS A CHARCOAL STILL LIFE. I HATE CHARCOAL. I THINK I WORE A WHITE SHIRT THAT DAY TOO...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS IS A FINISHED CHARCOAL OF A, UM...YEP, ITS A PLASTIC EGG ON A BLOCK. HOW EXCITING! CAN'T YOU FEEL THE TENSION IN THE AIR? WILL THE EGG FALL? WILL IT STAY ON ITS PERCH? DOES IT HAVE CANDY OR COINS INSIDE? THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW.

OK, THATS ALL FOR THIS INSTALLMENT. STAY TUNED TO THE SAME BAT-CHANNEL AT THE SAME BAT-TIME (OR NOT) FOR THE GRAND FINALE INSTALLMENT OF BLOG-O-THON AUGUST-SEPTEMBER 2006!

OK SO ONWARD TO PART 2 OF THIS BLOG-O-POLUZA. LETS GET RIGHT INTO IT...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS IS ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITES. IT IS OBVIOUSLY INSPIRED BY FRANK HERBERT'S DUNE.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
WHAT IF A CELTIC WARRIOR AND A SAMURAI HAD A BABY? THIS IS WHAT YOU GET. I DONT REALLY KNOW WHY I LIKE THIS ONE, BECAUSE IT IS HONESTLY NOT VERY GOOD.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
SABRETOOTH! THE FIRST THING THEY TELL YOU IN ART SCHOOL IS TO NEVER PUT THE SUN OR MOON IN ANY OF YOUR WORKS. I DECIDED TO GIVE THEM ANOTHER "UP YOURS" AND PUT THE MOON IN THIS ONE. I CHOSE POORLY.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS IS THE BADASS ST. GEORGE. HE IS THE ONLY SAINT THAT EVER INTERESTED ME FOR ONE REASON. HE KILLED A DRAGON. WHAT? YES, THATS RIGHT, HE KILLED A FUCKING DRAGON!!! THATS JUST HOW HE ROLLS. THIS SKETCH DEPICTS SAID DRAGON-SLAYING.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
SO EVERYONE KNOWS I HATE SUPERMAN. THIS IS THE SENTRY WHO IS BASICALLY MARVEL'S SUPERMAN AND ALSO ONE MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS. WHY DO I LIKE HIM? BECAUSE HE IS COMPLETELY BAT-SHIT CRAZY AND HAS A SUPERPOWERED YORKSHIRE TERRIER AS A SIDEKICK. ONE WORD, AWESOME. THIS IS THE MOST RECENT SKETCH AND IS INDICATIVE OF WHAT MY STYLE PROBABLY WOULD BE LIKE IF I DREW REGULARLY. I CALL IT THE BALL OF STRING STYLE BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE A CAT THREW UP A BALL OF STRING AND IT MADE A PICTURE.

THESE NEXT ONES ARE A SAMPLE OF "THE GIRLS" OF COMICS I DID ON LARGE 18X24 SHEETS OF PAPER.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS IS WONDER WOMAN. SHE WILL SPEAR YOU.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS ONE IS OF ROUGE. YES I KNOW IT LOOKS LIKE JEAN GREY. ITS ROUGE DAMNIT. IT WAS REALLY JUST A STUDY ON HOW TO DRAW 80'S HAIR.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
MS. MARVEL, ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
MY RE-DESIGN OF ALISON BLAIR AKA THE DAZZLER. I THINK SHE LOOKS LIKE A HOT BOSNIAN CHICK THOUGH.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
POWERGIRL! THIS ONE WAS FUN TO DRAW JUST BECAUSE IT CAME OUT SO EASILY AND I NEVER HAD TO FIGHT WITH IT.

COMING SOON... I FOUND A WAY TO PUT UP MY ACTUAL GOOD STUFF FROM ART SCHOOL ON HERE SO BEWARE....

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

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS FIRST ONE IS OF A CHARACTER NAMED HOURMAN, HE IS UM, AN ANDROID. YOU HAVE TO FORGIVE MY COMICBOOK NERD-Y-NESS. THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE DRAWINGS EVER AND I WILL PROBABLY NEVER BE ABLE TO DUPLICATE A DRAWING LIKE THIS.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS ONE I CALL "ANGLE ANGEL" BECAUSE I LOVE THE ANGLE IN WHICH I DREW IT AT. THE ANGEL IS ACTUALLY IN FREE-FALL JUST DRAWN AT AN ODD ANGLE.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
THIS IS THE MOST RECENT ONE OF THIS SET, DONE PROBABLY AROUND 2004 OR 5 SOMETIME. ITS DONE IN INK AND CHARCOAL AND IS A RARE EXAMPLE OF ME BEING ABLE TO DO A VERY CLEAN PIECE.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I KNOCKED THIS ONE OUT IN LIKE 10 MINUTES BECAUSE THIS CHICK WAS IN A DREAM I HAD SO I HAD TO GET HER DOWN WHILE THE MEMORY WAS STILL CRISP. YEAH, SHE HAS WINGS FOR ARMS. I CALL HER "BIRD-CHICK" GET IT? LOL

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
MY GOAL ON THIS ONE WAS TO DRAW THE UGLIEST MONSTER I COULD WITH A TINY HERO GOING UP AGAINST IT. WHAT HAPPENS? THE HERO GETS EATEN. LOSER.

OK, I THINK THATS IT FOR THIS PART, ILL PUT UP A SECOND PART WITH PROBABLY 5 MORE LATER. I HOPE THIS WORKS...
