"You're So Good, Good, Good You're Great" is Buck Brothers' 2nd single from the forthcoming album "We Are Merely Filters" and this slice of poptastic mystery "It Girl" lampooning is released 13th July.

Here are the reviews...

................................................................

Rhythm & Booze Fanzine

When you write a website like this and you receive so many CD's through the door it's really easy to misplace a few (or in my case a whole bloody big box full of them) and so a number of fantastic releases get lost in the mists of time like this bouncy ball of brilliance by The Buck Brothers.

Now those of you who have regular readers of this site will have stumbled across reviews of the Buck brothers before (if not do some research!!) and will have already read about my love for the band, well You're So Good Good Good You're Great is more the same, it's an infectious and contagious energetic sub three minute punk anthem that literally had me bouncing around the living room like a loon.

The Buck Brothers make music as it should be fun, frenzied and frantic, there's no deep meaning, no hidden metaphors or cross pollination of genres here, this is just a damn good song with a catchier than the common cold chorus and a handful of chords, it's silly, simplistic and downright essential for anyone who likes loud and fast.

Rhythm & Booze Rating 10/10

The Beat Surrender

This band has plenty of attitude like a modern day version of The Sex Pistols and The Damned. Is it the return of 70’s Punk? I would like to think it was.

This track has all the in your face, listen to what I’ve got to say aggression and anger that has been missing since the end of the original punk era over 20 years ago.

I want to hear more from these and can’t wait to listen to their forthcoming album “We Are Merely Filters”.

I would wager that the Buck Brothers are awesome live.

What the Buck Brothers lack in any sort of musical complexity they make up for in sardonic wit. Of course the former is not the objective in this kind of pop-punk and hence they score full points in reaching their objectives. While the music alone almost stagnates in tried and tested punk banality, it is the musings of Andy Duke over the culture (or should I say 'cult’) of the saccharine celebrity that propel 'You’re So Good, Good, Good Your Great’ into noteworthy territory.

Doing some research I discovered the Buck Brothers recently gained a Guinness World Record for the highest number of live shows performed in a 12 hour time period. Playing 28 gigs in 10 and a half hours is a testament to their endurance and passion for the art they produce. With all this in mind it seems that this trio have a bright future ahead and good luck to them.

Street Voice Fanzine
What is it with this band and bloody long song titles? Despite the
madness of long titles this is another great release from the Buck
Brothers. Despite this not being as catchy as the last single they've
managed to put out another strong number which shows these guys to be
a bloody good Pop-Punk band. I'm surprised no one has released an
album by these guys yet as they could become the UK's answer to the
likes of the Dickies and The Ramones. Support this band buy
purchasing this down load. The Buck Brothers are certainly one band
who deserve your support.

Tasty Fanzine

A cracking pop/punk thrash through the subject of celebrity with witty verses and an insanely catch chorus, and an underlying message any right-thinking person should agree heartily with.

The press release suggests there’s some mystery as to who the celeb in question is. Given the dressed Chihuahua on the single sleeve I reckon I could take a wild stab in the dark.

Released on July 13th, and you could do far worse than pick this up.

Losing Today Review

Buck Brothers ‘you’re so good good good you’re great’ (back2forward).
already responsible for what could have been an impromptu visit to the local emergency casualty unit when their previous outing - the insanely infectious ‘when I look at you (all I think about is sex)’ - sent electrifying sparks across our listening space and had us all a scramble not to mention the rediscovering of our dancing feet which along with hips where going 10 to the dozen in the kind of feats of boisterously brazen bravado scarcely seen here since a woefully memory scarring fateful school disco moment involving one to many sherbet dips, loon pants, a bad choice in dance floor shape cutting, an unrequited childhood sweetheart and a button badge the size of a bin lid from which the London Eye is widely believed to have been modelled on. Enough of the reminiscing. Anyway this is single number two to be culled from the London based trios forthcoming second album ’we are merely fillers’ - a copy of which we’ll have to scout around for as I’m certain we’ve got a copy. ’you’re so good good good you’re great’ again provides further evidence as though any where needed that this lot have been kissed by the fairy of pristine pop either that or they have access to a seam of secretly stashed radio romping 18 carat pure pop gold. A precision honed sub three minute shot of acrylic tinged adrenalin is what you get for your trouble that blisters and veers with such wanton aplomb it literally pins you flat to the wall, a rampantly riot lashed snot nosed power surging pogo pop sortie replete with three chord tuning, oi oi backing harmonies and blessed with ridiculously appetising hooks aplenty that will frankly cane your hi-fi and have you super gluing the repeat button and which ultimately sounds not unlike a face off between a prime time pairing of the Buzzcocks and the Ramones. You have been warned - anti contagion shots are optional. Quite frankly the blighters are toying with us. www.myspace.com/buckbrothers

Get Ready To Rock Review

BUCK BROTHERS ‘You’re So Good Good Good You’re Great’ www.myspace.com/buckbrothers have produced a very catchy single, not a million miles removed from the Buzzcocks in their prime. Fast paced with an instant chorus, a definite hit.

.........................................................

Burnout Music Fanzine (Issue 37 September - October '09)

Some good, old fashioned, accessible punk rock here. Borrowing much from the likes of The Dickies and Buzzocks, this single is a catchy 3 minute rant on the fickle nature of celebrity culture in the noghties, centred on the millionaire offspring and serial amateur porn star Paris Hilton. Buck Brothers a getting a good choice of support slots for major tours for bands from both sides of the pond, most notably Goldfinger, and it's easy to see why. Definitely worth the download.

Riteo,

Regarding our previous blog about our gig at The Fly in London on Friday 12th June:

We've had a word with the promotor of the club at and he now is letting us have a guestlist (half price) entrance fee.

It will cost you only £5 (rather than £7 or £10).

All you gotta do is e-mail us with your name and any other people's names you're bringing to the gig to:

info@buckbrothers.net

... with the subject title 'Fly Gig' or something similar, and we'll get you on the cheap(er) list.

£5 is still more than we'd like to charge but The Fly make the rules and we only play at their venue.

Hope to see ya there.

All aboard!

x

P.S. Don't forget, our new single "When I Look At You (All I Think About Is Sex)" is out now and available from iTunes, Amazon, eMusic and probably other places that I don't know about.

Hello party people,

We're playing The Fly in London on Friday the 12th June.

Should be a lovely night.

7:30 pm kick off time.

Another 3 great bands are playing:

- Anison

- The Repercussion

- With Love From Humans!

The Fly is situated on New Oxford Street.
Closest tube stops are Tottenham Court Road and Holborn.

Tickets in advance are £7 and are available only from Ticketweb.
Sorry, we have no control over these prices, but it's £10 on the door so try and buy them in advance so The Fly don't steal more money off you.
And because it's a "weekend", we're told there's no guest list price so again, we apologise.

This price does include the club night afterwards that goes on until late And we've been told it's student night too so loads of drinks promotions etc.

See ya at the bar.

P.S. And it's funny the fact The Fly have asked us to play a gig there, yet refused to review out new single.
In the words of John Rambo: Fuck 'em.

You can check out our new single here though:

Rhythm & Booze Fanzine

The Buck Brothers are a London-based three-piece who first formed back in 2006, since their formation the band have played their infectious blend of punky new-wave indie rock across the UK, Europe and the US, as well as finding time for a quick jaunt to Russia (to support Primal Scream no less). The band have racked up a vast number of high profile gigs, sharing bills with the likes of The Futureheads, The Buzzcocks and a UK tour with Goldfinger among others.

Back in 2007 the band managed to breach the CMJ Top 200 National Chart in the US with their debut single Me and the group are hoping to make further inroads into the American market as well as breaking their native UK with When I Look At You (All I Think About Is Sex) and their forthcoming full-length album We Are Merely Filters.

As singles go When I Look At You is something of a humdinger, it begins with a bit of strummed acoustic guitar and melodic crooning before developing into a rousing sing-a-long new-wave classic, complete with huge hooks, spiky guitars and an instantly memorable chorus that'll have you humming for days.

When I Look At You is a fantastic prelude to the album, it's a short, sharp, snappy track that straddles the divide of indie, punk and pop, leaving you desperate to hear more.

Buck Brothers ‘when I look at you (all I think about is sex)’ (back2forward).

Indeed a sentiment I can clearly associate with given that once upon a time I did indeed sit opposite a rather fine looking specimen of the female kind when I worked up in la Liverpool who sent my chemical indicators into scramble and had me skipping beats each and every time I saw her. Alas that was then and this is now.

Previously unknown to us Buck Brothers who number three in the ranks have already been setting alight various turntables belonging to the more in tuned record buying cognoscenti by way of their 2007 debut full length ’me’. two years on and having raided the hooks and melodies armaments stores and nailed said accoutrements into a soon to be released follow up set entitled ’we are merely filters’ that’s certain to sizzle speakers and have you all a gasping and a swooning between bouts of bopping your asses off.

Warning shot of what’s to come arrives in the shape of ’when I look at you (all I think about is sex)’ a seismic 3.21 slice of unadulterated head turning ears twanging powder keg pop, pristinely honed and awash with a drill fizzing charge replete and bulging with zig-zagging slashing riffs and decoded with a deeply arresting and infectious preying strut laced acuteness that frankly is way too irresistible for its own good, reference wise - well to be fair it sounds to us like a wired and prowling Ned’s Atomic Dustbin on heat, nevertheless by far the sexiest thing in our gaff at the moment if of course you don’t count me.

Up-Load (UK)

When I Look At You(All I think about is sex)' begins with vocals that remind you of The Proclaimers with a backing track that seems to have its roots in the Ska punk sound of bouncy rhythmic guitars with a pumping repetitive beat, that makes you want to bop around the room.

The lyrics are easy to learn and it is the type of track that sticks in your head, especially when you think about what the song is all about, basically a man’s favourite subject!

These London boys certainly seem to want the listener to have fun with their music and obviously don’t want to be viewed as a serious rock band, which is very refreshing these days.  They have unusual song titles and an Old School Punk approach to their sound, which combines to give you a fun packed listening experience.

Take a listen to their music on Myspace   http://www.myspace.com/buckbrothers  and you will see that they have the talent to be diverse in the sound they deliver with a high ability to make you smile.

I think we will be hearing a lot more from these guys.

Smash Music (UK)

British three piece Buck Brothers return with the cheekily titled ‘When I look At You (All I Think About is Sex)’.

Drawing inspiration from the punk rock vocal styling’s of the early Eighties (The Buzzcocks spring immediately to mind) and the guitar backdrop of modern day pop punk, Buck Brothers offer us a fun little number. Whilst not the declaration of seedy perversion the title may suggest, it’s instead playfully tongue-in-cheek and incredibly catchy.

O.K, ‘When I look At You…’ is never going to smash into the top ten, but it doesn’t need to. While other bands take themselves a bit too seriously, the trio are simply up for a laugh, which shines through with this example. So, enjoy the lighter side of music, courteousy of the care-free punk rock ethics of a band not out for anything other than a good time.

Burnout Music Fanzine

A cunning blend of New Wave and modern indie rock, London band Buck Brothers have a sound that's difficult to dislike which is probably why their quest for world dominatino is already taking hold with regular US College Radio airplay and extensive touring in both Europe and America. "When I Look At You..." is a spiky hormone charged ditty coming across all "Orgasm Addict" with pop sensibilities.

Uber DJ Legend and "John Peel of the USA" Rodney Bingenheimer from KROQ in LA bigged up our 29th June single 'You're So Good, Good, Good You're Great' and appearance at International Pop Overthrow in Liverpool on his 18 May show. See his playlist blog below:

Rodney on the Roq's 18 May Playlist

This will be the the 10th spin of the track since he received a sneaky peaky copy in the second week of February. And he'll be giving some of the other new songs from the album a spin next week too.

Mega huge thanks to Rodney Bingenheimer for his ongoing support of Buck Brothers.
