"I make a decent chunk of change from my own sites. And, I do little
projects for other sites, build sites for clients, and have a sweet
office gig. At my office gig, 98.5-ish percent of my time is spent
working on my own aforementioned stuff."
That recently changed up a bit. The "clients" part consumes most of my life now - one client in particular. Right now we are in the pre-launch phase of one of his projects. Funding to cover the rest of the web app development and initial marketing is going to come from one of two places...
1. A check from his personal account into that business account
or...
2. A check from an investor who will then own 5% of the company
How big of a check? $25k
This flipping thing is in pre-launch and you think it's worth 500k?
(note for people who don't have 500,000 fingers and toes: 5% = 25k so 100% = $500k)
Yup. Only because it is in pre-launch though. Operating profit by the end of year one should be above $25k per month ($50k in net sales). Year two should show exponential growth for a bit before it levels out to around $125k per month. By then it will be time to forget about dividend checks and start shopping it around for a buyout.
If this is such a good investment why aren't you buying into it? This ninja is spread thin at the moment. If I could afford this right now, would I do it? Hells yeah. I'm going to be banking on a piece of the difference between the net sales and operating profit anyway though. ;-)
If you are interested and actually have cash in hand, hit me up at burntpickle{AT}gmail.com. I'll provide more details and if you are still interested we can do a conference call to iron out details. This offer will only be good for a couple of weeks. We will be doing the beta/soft launch in early September.
/in other news: the FBI never contacted me about the eBay/PayPal thing. :P
Update: Funding no longer needed. :-)

And, here's how I replied:
Hello,
Your message to my host was anything but cute. The image in question is being used as a real world example of a paypal phishing email on a blog entry from January of 2008.
Here's that entry's url: http://www.ghettowebmaster.com/spam/porn-site-hacked-16k-emails/
And, here's a new entry with my formal response to you: http://www.ghettowebmaster.com/legal/ebay-paypal-reported-me-to-the-fbi/
You guys need to get your head on straight. I can only imagine how many other security researchers got a similar email.
Here's my contact info in case you would like to pursue things further legally:
Loren J. Williams [address / phone number removed]
Email addresses: [email addresses removed]
P.S. That new blog entry will likely be making the rounds all over the internet this week. Congrats on making your company look like a bunch of retards.

The full story is on GhettoWebmaster.com: eBay/PayPal reported me to the FBI
And, my buddy PaperGhost is providing some nerd rage backup on blog.spywareguide.com: EBay / Paypal Reports Security Blog To FBI For Phish Screenshot
If you are on Twitter, you can retweet PaperGhost's original tweet that is already picking up a ton of steam.
Oh yeah, in case any of you forgot: I piss excellence.

"Spend the rest of the evening lying on the sofa and watching Fox 'News', whose reports about the American election claim to be "fair and balanced" but which sometimes seem about as objective as a biography of Lee Harvey Oswald would be if written by the ghost of John F Kennedy." - Joseph O'ConnorSpade = Spade = lolz And, yeah: I get the irony of posting this on a NewsCorp owned website. /going to bed. k, I'm really going crash now. Fox viewers / supporters / victims are free to defend that joke of a news outlet in the comments. I'd love to hear the awesome things you've learned from Fox about that elitist Muslim, cracker hating, Kenyan born, Socialist pig who pals around with Terrorists - yet does not bother keeping tabs on his Aunt or brother. I can't wait to see what OMFG BS bomb Fox drops on Monday night about Obama. It'll have to be something huge that will take a day or so to be disproved... P.S. I'm voting (throwing it away) for Nader. Having to take up for Obama on ridiculous Fox news BS is aggravating at best.

A bulletin I posted recently:Ninjas need funding for anti-pirate propaganda campaign!!! I'll likely post a blog about this site pretty soon. It's a social lending site. In short, it cuts banks (middlemen) out of loans. To test the waters I posted a flipping awesome listing seeking funds to fuel an anti-pirate propaganda campaign. I wonder if they will delete the listing. lolz Aside from the awesomeness of my listing, the site / concept is aces in my opinion. Want an unsecured loan for up to $25,000 to knock out some credit card debt or what-the-hell-ever? Or, do you have some funds to invest in something that will surely outpace any mutual fund if you have half a brain? This site is good for both. Want to loan a ninja $50 to $15,000 at 9.60 percent interest?Get a loan of your own? What I didn't mention in that bulletin:Profile pages and listings on the site aren't meant to be customized. That didn't stop this ninja from adding some style to his pages though (they removed the custom stuff I did to my pages yesterday). By doing so, I demonstrated vulnerabilities similar to the ones I found on HotOrNot a while back. An official statement from the site claims that it will all be patched up this weekend. I'll be posting a full blog entry with all the details once I get the word that the patching is done. More info and links here: Financial Site: Open to XSS Attacks and Other HacksWhy is this awesome? I've been quoted all over the interweb as LoLo, Burnt Pickle, Ghetto Webmaster, Loren Williams, etc... We all know that a ninja called by any other name is still a ninja. It's pretty sweet when they finally start calling me one though. lolz Click here to subscribe to this blog for guaranteed pirate protection

I've been pissing and moaning about MySpace's link filtering solution since it was implemented. Why? A bunch of reasons. Stuff like... "Since MySpace users are accustomed to external links being converted into MSPLinks.com links and having to pass through that new warning page, malicious links coded to circumvent those systems appear to be legitimate internal MySpace urls." Sounds all kinda smart and shit, huh? lolz Here's my new blog entry which points out how their security measures are actually helping asshats: Symantec found over 5 million phishing urls posted on MySpaceThe above explains the comments you've been seeing which say stuff like "RIP Mike, I'll see you in heaven" and have a web address posted which appears to be to a MySpace profile. Click Here to Subscribe to this Blog^^^ Do it or ninjas will come in the middle of the night and kill your goldfish. Don't have a goldfish? They'll settle for you. :P

1. Thanks for all the birthday wishes 2. The below is an interesting message I got today. Hello LoLo, I was referred to you by Toney. I have a humanitarian media company and keep a page on myspace (myspace.com/omniquest) to post blogs, etc. but I've been locked out of my page and (big surprise) am getting no response from myspace. I enjoyed reading your blogs and would greatly appreciate any suggestions you may have. Here is what I sent them several times: I have been trying repeatedly to get my password fixed. Somehow the one I have been using for some time is not working. I have sent you Salutes and messages explaining the problem, but all I have only received are generic responses that lead to the same result. The site now says "too many log on attempts" and it won't go away. I've tried restarting, deleting cookies and private data, opening from a different browser, requesting the email be sent to me. Nothing works. Please help me solve this issue! Thank you! salute: http://www.omniquestmedia.com/private/mk.jpg Michael Kaliski Omniquest Media 1416 N. La Brea Ave. Hollywood, CA 90028 tel 323.802.1630 • fax 323.802.1633 Www.omniquestmedia.org Thank you! Michael 3. Methinks the above situation is a bit odd. Has anyone else been locked out of an account in such a way? 4. I've got three awesome blog entries in the works. Seriously.
