I don't really put any stock in the whole astrology thing, but since my birthday's coming up I read this lil article and was rather surprised how accurate-- good and bad!! So here it is, with a few things emphasized ;)

So you may know that I have recently decided to train for a half marathon in January and a full in May. (13.1 miles and 26.2 miles, respectivetly, for those of you who don't know.) I've been trying to run more often and recently started a challenging but surprisingly not impossible training program (thanks, Kevyn!).

Last night, while doing a three-mile jog, the S's of running became apparent.

The first two S's are rather obvious: soreness and sweating. I haven't been sore in AGES!! I used to think it would take an act of God to make me sore... But nope, apparently all it takes is my two feet hitting the pavement. And, oh, the SWEAT that follows! I think the phrase "whore in church" is totally appropo.

But then the other two S's... sadly, these two bother me MUCH more than the soreness. SNORTING and SPITTING.

Snorting? Yes, snorting. You may wonder why I didn't say "Sniffling"-- hey, it starts with "S" too, right...? Well, I don't "Sniffle." NO amoutn of sniffling owuld hold the nastiness at bay!! Apparently I am a phlegm-y person ;)

And, inevitably, the snort if followed by... SPIT. Yes, I, Sarah, am now a spitter!! I can't get any good sdistance-- YET-- but I have finally mamanged to figure out the proper execution of spitting so as to not be left with saliva strings all over my face. Yes, that nasty little wet spot you just stepped in was MINE. Feel special :)

Anyhow. Just though I'd share.

Oh, and if anyone has advice regarding the snorting/spitting issue, please share!

How God feels about selfish prayers...?

Indifferent? Sad? Angry? Understanding?

Does He answer them, sometimes, just to teach us?

The Bible tells us God answers prayers. The answer may be yes, no, or later... But He always answers. But as good, God-fearing, God-loving people, what we pray for should be His will. We pray for those suffering, we pray for those in need, we pray for salvation.

We also pray for continued life-- sometimes even though it's time for the dying to go Home. We pray for prosperity-- even though sometimes the desperation of poverty is what God knows we need. We pray for our significant others and friends-- even though sometimes God is removing them from our lives for a reason.

I just wonder... God's will is going to be done, no matter what, and I know that... but I wonder... how does He feel when we pray for things outside that will? How do we know what is INside it?

I suppose Jesus already taught us the answer when He taught us to pray : THY WILL BE DONE. On earth, as it is in Heaven, God's will needs to be done. What a hard prayer, when many times it will not go the way we hope, the way we want, the way we think we NEED... Man, that's tough. But I'll do my best to pray it.

God, you know what I want today, and you know how I feel about my life and in the lives of those I pray for. But no matter how selfish I am, no matter how little I know about situations and circumstances, no matter what I think is "best"...
