As such, my blog is moving, to a more professional blog which offers the chance for more interaction with all people, as well as more options for communication and information Follow this link and change your bookmarks to come on the new journey with me. For those who cannot see the link above, the site is at http://poess.wordpress.com Thanks again Steve

For a local church in our area, with one of my good mates as the minister who has gone over to India to teach PTC courses to their prospective pastors. Pray for clarity of speech and interpretation and understanding for all who take part.

For all the skeptics out there, check this. All the time we find the gospel is not based on a bunch of wishy washy statements of desire, but on solid historical documents which speak of truths which are eternal. Let me guess, this will get no where near the press of the so called 'bones of Jesus' which was nothing more than a made up attempt to get more subscribers to pay TV

This is a great article! The Catholics think we are heretics again! This is the best thing to happen for the gospel in some time, and given the Catholics stance of what the Pope says being infallible, this will stand. It is good for the world to know that we are very different. Roman Catholics are a religion of works which has not changed the gospel necessarily, but have added to it, and by so doing have changed the mould and themselves become heretics. Hopefully in the light of all this 'World Youth Day' junk going on, we might be able to make a stand and recognise that we have very different beliefs though we may use the same language!

We seem to lose people to Hillsong and places like that becasue they offer something which people describe as "Christian Experience". This is a worry I think. Not only becasue they invite major speakers to their conferences who deny the trinity, but also becasue they do not teach the Bible in a way which allows people to read it for themselves. They act as intermediators in their relationship with God, and of course the feeling of being close to God equates with knowing him.
However it reaction to all of that, some of our brands fail to offer 'Christian Experience' much at all. While I agree that truth cannot be dictated by how we feel or by our past experience, I will not relent on that one, we need to have people experience the faith.
What that looks like? I am not sure, spending more time together, experiencing love, excersising gifts of the spirit amongst each other, putting faith into practice....
I'm still thinking about the issue, but I am convinced that we can continue to do it better without losing the backbone of our theology.

We had a good night tonight, training on Discipleship and Leading music all in an hour, phew that went fast, and a chance to chat with some of my leaders, which I am very slack in doing I must say. The training was conversational in style, and nothing original or earth shatteringly new, but it is up on the podcast site if you'd like to have a listen

Finally a book which speaks about the apocalyptic issues, without leaving us resigned to fictional books which set the scene of Revelation in an unhelpful and unbiblical manner. Good stuff Clarke and Dickson

There is one lady at our church who is so keen for her Bible Study group, she loves it, promotes it, lives for it and loves what the leader does in leading the group. It is unbelievably encouraging when people say that they love their church, especially for leaders like me. Sadly I know that often the leaders like me are the very reason why people dont love their church, they endure me and therefore endure meeting with God. This is sad for me, and In wish I could do better. This article is a good one about loving your church, its been around for a while, but it makes a good point and it is something I would love for our people to have a zeal for. I would love us to be a place which is characterised by love for our church, not as a building, but as a place where we come together to meet God. Hopefully through God's grace we can become something like my friends Bible Study group!

I read on the weekend that this man: Peter Cundall from Gardening Australia ran as a member of the communist party. Thats fine with me, its a free country, just slightly humourous for a gardener, shouldnt he be taking over countries or instead of growing a well manicured hedge shouldnt he be growing a well manicured moustache? Funny

Anyone remember the days of the old 'smoking cars' on the suburban trains? They are all outlawed these days, but I remember not being able to find a seat on a non-smoking carriage, so we had to walk trhough the haze of the smoking carriage to get to the next one. An amazing experience!! (In a bad way!)
Well, pubs and clubs are about to follow suit, and I say its great, its not before time. I would be more likely to go for a meal at a pub or club now, thanks to this outlawing of the tuff sticks!
Good stuff
