Why she took the part: "I heard 'Dr. Seuss,' and my ears perked up. Then they told me Jim Carrey would be Horton and Steve Carell was the Mayor. I knew I wanted to be a part of this. Not that we were together when we worked. There were many takes. 'Now say it angrily.' Or, 'Say it as if you were telling a secret.' I found out there are 47 ways to say 'Horton.' "
