3 INCHES OF BLOOD Sign Worldwide Deal With Century Media Records,
Complete Successful Tour With Slipknot

One of the biggest defenders of traditional heavy metal, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, has crafted a new dynamic, epic opus of grandeur that is soon to be hailed as the gospel of all things heavy. Century Media Records is proud to welcome these metal warriors to its worldwide family roster and fans can expect their massively anticipated new full-length release this fall.

Cam Pipes (vocals) further comment: “Ever since our departure from our previous label, Century Media has been in the forefront trying to get us to sign with them. No other label showed as much enthusiasm and belief in our band as they did. Right from the start we all got a great feeling from the whole Century Media team. We feel comfortable with the vision they have for us and are confident they have the necessary tools and motivation to help us in the ways our previous label didn't. We can’t wait to unleash this new material upon the masses.”

3 INCHES OF BLOOD entered Seattle’s London Bridge Studios to commence the recording process in mid April with renowned producer Jack Endino (High On Fire). The group took a break from the studio for a slew of high profile shows with genre leaders Slipknot and stay tuned to (check below) for video updates and studio reports.

Pipes further states: “The show with Slipknot were absolutely amazing. Any band would be fortunate to get to play in front of their crowd and because we are such a different band than Slipknot. This was an excellent opportunity for us to put ourselves in front of people who have never heard us before and make some new fans. Obviously, Joey Jordison (Slipknot drummer), our friend and past producer, had a part in getting us on these shows and we are massively grateful to him and everyone else that made it happen."

Born out of a love for pure metal, weaned on a diet of fantasy and mythology, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD have been slaying the infidel for nearly a decade. In that time, they've released three albums and splattered the ground with crimson streaks while on tour with such acclaimed acts as Satyricon, Black Dahlia Murder, Motorhead and Cradle of Filth, just to name a few. These are mighty accomplishments for dedicated warriors from Vancouver, British Columbia, a region that's not exactly the Camelot of heavy metal. With their last album, Fire Up the Blades, they have surpassed even their own manly exploits, crafting a number of undeniable anthems that crash, rip and roar like a Medieval skirmish.

3 INCHES OF BLOOD demonstrate that the best way to stay ahead of the heavy metal curve is to write music that comes from the heart and sounds nothing like the horde of bands tapping into the latest trends. To that end, they draw fuel from their favorite artists, including Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, UFO, Rainbow and Enslaved and compile it all into their own lethal potion.

One of the masterminds behind DAATH's guitar work wants to teach you all his secrets. Want to play like Emil of Daath? Read below to find out how.

I have been teaching in the Southeast for years, and I actually enjoy
the exchange of information. There are a lot of misconceptions about
the art of guitar playing, and I'm totally into the idea of exposing
the facts while nerding out nation wide.

I will be offering anything from how to play Daath songs to soloing
strategies or anything else a serious guitar player would want to know

Check the DAATH tour schedule to see when I'll be in your area

SUICIDE SILENCE Enter The Studio, Announce New Album Title and
Prepare For Carcass Tour

There is little doubt in anyone’s minds that SUICIDE SILENCE are one of the frontrunners of the new wave of American metal, but make no mistake that this extreme juggernaut are not resting on their laurels and are about to take things up a notch with their highly anticipated sophomore release. The group enter the studio with acclaimed producer Machine (Lamb of God) this week and this new effort, No Time To Bleed, promises to make their debut offering seem like easy listening.

SUICIDE SILENCE will also debut some new material on the upcoming Carcass tour this March. The group will be direct support and deliver a blistering 45 minute aural assault. Be sure to check out the bands official Myspace page or see below to view their complete touring itinerary.

Mitch Lucker (vocals) states: “We’re all geared up to record our strongest effort to date. We’ve all grown quite a bit as musicians over the last few years. The last record was tracked in a live setting over a period of two weeks and this time around we’re looking forward to carefully crafting a record on an even larger scale with Machine’s services at the helm. This is going to be a huge step in the right direction for us.”
A new video for the unrelenting track, “Unanswered,” was recently completed by renowned director Jerry Clubb (As I Lay Dying, Unearth) and is composed of live footage from this past summer’s “Rockstar Energy Mayhem” tour. This clip proves just how truly intense and demanding their live performance is as they emerged as one of the fest’s breakthrough artists. This group has struck a nerve with fans across the country who are hungry for sheer, unrelenting aggression that pummels the listener with an unabashed mixture of brutality, precision and technicality. Check it out below.

DUFF MCKAGAN’s LOADED Complete New Album, Post New Webisode and Announce NAMM Appearances

There are few individuals around today that exemplify the term “idol” or “legend,” but one of Seattle’s own stands tall amongst this chosen minority. This person is Duff McKagan and anybody would be hard pressed to dispute that he is the epitome of a hard rock icon. In 2009, with his latest, appropriately titled project, DUFF MCKAGAN’s LOADED, he gets a chance to add another chapter to his already storied career further showing his songwriting prowess and versatility assuming the role of vocalist/guitarist. This is an all out assault of pure rock and punk infused fury that pulls no punches.

DUFF MCKAGAN’s LOADED have completed work on their massively anticipated new full-length album, Sick, which was recorded by Martin Feveyear (Presidents of the USA, Kings of Leon) and is set for an April release. A new webisode documenting the band’s recent UK tour can be viewed at the link below. See the meaning behind the term “Road Gay,” travel with the band for a photo shoot at the infamous LocNess and witness how insane the Brits are for Duff and company.

Duff has also announced the following NAMM signings.
Saturday, Jan. 17th
12PM to 1:00PM - Rotosound Booth
1:15PM to 2:15PM - Gallien Krueger Booth
2:30PM to 3:30PM - Jim Dunlop Booth

McKagan further states: “Well now... a new year is here and with it will come the release of LOADED’s first, full-length Century Media release, Sick, this spring. We spent the last part of '08 finishing up the record as well as playing a few gigs around our hometown of Seattle. If anyone is interested, Geoff, Jeff, Mike and I will be at the NAMM show in Anaheim on Jan. 17th. I will be at the GK, Fender, RotoSound, and Dunlop booths. Jeff will be at GK, Fender, and Dunlop. Geoff will be found hangin at DW, Sabian, Vic Firth or poolside. Mike will be recruiting members at Disneyland for his now infamous 'Squires Army.' We look forward to seeing you all soon.”

DUFF MCKAGAN’s LOADED was formed in 1999 and has morphed several times, releasing two albums: 1999's Live Episode and 2001's Dark Days. The current line-up features drummer Geoff Reading (New American Shame, Green Apple Quickstep), bassist Jeff Rouse and guitarist Mike Squires (both formerly of Alien Crime Syndicate). This tight-knit group of rock n’ roll brothers brings their high-energy to every stage, from Seattle's Sunset Tavern to Tokyo's NK Hall.

DEICIDE Signs Worldwide Deal With Century Media Records;
Embarks On European Tour This Week

Twenty years ago, an underground cult movement surfaced in Tampa, Florida that revolutionized the metal world. The pioneers of this burgeoning scene, DEICIDE, are still striking fear into hearts of the masses to this day. Century Media Records are extremely proud to announce a worldwide deal with DEICIDE, one of the founding fathers of death metal. The group stands strong to this day as one of the most influential and controversial bands ever. With a relentlessly brutal sound and uncompromisingly blasphemous lyrics, DEICIDE helped set the standards for extreme metal and have maintained those standards ever since.

DEICIDE led by original members Glen Benton (vocals, bass) and Steve Asheim (drums) have been busy at Audiohammer Studios with Mark Lewis (Black Dahlia, Chimaira) and are looking at a summer '09 release. The group have reunited with legendary guitarists Jack Owen (ex-Cannibal Corpse) and Ralph Santolla (Obituary, ex-Iced Earth, Death) and will embark on a two-week European tour this week. Feel free to visit to view their complete itinerary.

DEICIDE - http://www.myspace.com/theofficialdeicidemyspacepage

Benton states: "I want to say it is an honor to be an official CM artist. I look forward to working with the fine folks at CM and providing them with our style of metal. I can ensure you that what surfaces will definitely be nothing less than a total bash-your-face-in-from-start-to-finish, bastard. HAIL SATAN!!!!"

Asheim further comments: "I'm happy to be a part of the CM family and look forward to working with them. The new DEICIDE material in the works should be a good way to kick off the new deal. It's a totally sick new record with a totally sick new label, but the same ol' sick DEICIDE. See you all in 2009 and hold onto your balls!"

Owen adds: "It is an honor and a pleasure to sign with one of the most established metal labels on the planet. Century Media's track record speaks for itself, and we can't wait to unleash this beast of a new DEICIDE album through the mighty CM! Many thanks to Kevin Astl and Steve Joh for their long hours bringing this deal to full fruition!"

DEICIDE released their groundbreaking self-titled debut in 1990. Recorded at Tampa's Morrisound Studio (the legendary studio where the band would go on to record all its albums), the vicious debut would soon be hailed as one of the "Top 100 Metal Albums of the 90's" by England's metal authority, Terrorizer Magazine. In 1992, DEICIDE followed up their debut with Legion, which was an instant success, further establishing their furious musical intensity and vengeful anti-Christian stance. This landmark extreme metal release secured their place at the forefront of the American death metal scene as they rapidly earned a reputation for controversy.

DEICIDE's appearance and live antics matched the extremity of their music and lyrics. With an inverted cross branded into his forehead, Benton cast himself as the incarnation of pure evil. At shows, he was known to pull such stunts as dousing the crowds with bags full of real animal organs. DEICIDE quickly found themselves banned from clubs, boycotted by magazines, and blacklisted by Christian groups and animal-rights activists. Anti-establishment to the core, DEICIDE embodied the worst fears of the conservative masses, and loved it. Rather than shy away from controversy, DEICIDE provoked it and willingly engaged in it.

DEICIDE stormed ahead into the future, releasing numerous albums engulfed by waves of controversy, as their popularity continued to ferment within the scene. However, it was the 2006 release The Stench of Redemption that put the band back on the map as the leaders of the genre. This was their first album to showcase the more melodic leads of guitarists Owen and Santolla which only added to their riotous and enigmatic success. DEICIDE looks forward to taking things to the next level in 2009, promising to deliver the album of their already heralded career.

WARBRINGER Issue Year End Wrap-Up

WARBRINGER became road warriors over the course of the past year. The band spent the entire year on the road, hitting nearly every location you could imagine, in support of their Century Media debut, War Without End. The album received critical praise across the board, held the 1 position at metal radio and their "Combat Shock" video received a dozen plays on Headbanger's Ball. Before heading into the studio to begin work on their next record (more info on that coming soon!), Frontman John Kevill took time to issue the following statement.

"So 2008 is wrapping up, and what a year it has been for Warbringer. It's been surreal as so many dreams have come true. In February we released our first album, War Without End, and we toured in support of it for ten months. We played over 200 shows on 7 different tours through 16 countries; we drove countless miles, we went through 2 vans and a trailer, A rhythm section and a royal shitload of beer and weed. We played our metal everywhere from our home on the west coast all the way to the shores of the Black Sea.

"We want to thank everyone who made all this possible for us, here goes the list: Our manager Marco Barbieri, our booking agents John Finberg and Marc at MAD, Century Media Records, Bill Metoyer, all of our families, all the clubs, press, radio stations, video outlets and record stores that helped promote us, Exodus, Suffocation, Goatwhore, Arsis, Napalm Death, Finntroll, The Faceless, Nile, Sworn Enemy, All Shall Perish, Overkill, and most of all, all the fans who came out to the shows and raged, hung out with us, gave us a place to stay or food to eat. You guys are completely awesome!

"We'll be doing the same kind of relentless touring schedule next year, and already have 100 shows booked in just the first few months alone. Till then we're in the jam room every day working on new material.  Expect a new album next year. See you out on the road in '09!"

ITM Vocalist Maria Brink Lands Metal Edge Cover Spot; New Photo Gallery Posted Online

There is no doubt that Maria Brink, vocalist of IN THIS MOMENT, is quickly becoming one of hard rock’s most identifiable  frontwomen and this is further proven as she is featured on the cover of Metal Edge magazine’s Jan/Feb issue. The eye-popping cover perfectly encompasses the new album’s dreamland concept and features Brink looking as striking as ever. This cover also marks Brink’s third national cover this year with the others being the prestigious publications Inked and Revolver. The new Metal Edge cover hits stands on Dec. 30th.

“We're very excited about this issue, for a number of reasons,” says Metal Edge Editor-in-Chief Phil Freeman. “IN THIS MOMENT’s new album is a giant leap forward for them, and we feel confident that they're only getting bigger - so they deserve the cover. More importantly for our readers, Adrien Begrand's story incorporates the thoughts and feelings of all the bandmembers and really helps define where the group is going, while filling new listeners in on where they've come from. Maria and the guys are clear-eyed about what it took to get them to this point, and I think a lot of METAL EDGE readers, especially those in struggling bands, can relate to their tenacity and determination.”

The cover was painted by Texas-based artist Austin Swinburn, based on very sketchy notes from Freeman. “I basically wanted to explore the Alice in Wonderland theme of the band's new album, but give it a dark, weird edge, and Austin did a terrific job,” he says.

The photos of Maria and the other band members were shot by veteran L.A. rock photographer Glen La Ferman. “He was recommended to me by Lonn Friend, former editor of RIP magazine; I saw his use of lighting and makeup in some demo shots he sent over, and was blown away,” says Freeman. An exclusive gallery of outtakes from the photo shoot can be seen here.
