It has been a while since I showed up but maybe a few of you will remember me and my Chesmod...

Well, I have been quite productive in this time regarding some programming and now I think I can finally present the result:

SBot



Integrated (secure!) clientless (bot up to ~25-30 chars parallel)
Very fast attacking
Stability
A lot of nice and useful options (see Tutorial/Features)
Frequent updates with addons (user wishes are highly appreciated)
Almost free! Only 5 Euro/month for unrestricted bot flatrate

So - until further notice - please refrain from using any bot program /modded client (including Chesmod) after the inspection tomorrow!!
Chesmod v0.1 and v0.2 don't depend on a "hacked"/modded sro_client.exe though and it works for most people only with the original client anyway (because of a bug ;). Thus it MAY be safe to use but I still recommend you to wait until I figured out what exactly they'll do ;)
 
Chesmod v0.3 is on hold.

After always getting asked the same questions I just felt like releasing my ...

... OFFICIAL (incomplete) FAQ TO CHESMOD:

Q0.1: May I copy and paste this FAQ?
A0.1: If you don't change its content without prior asking me (Chesmod@gmail.com) you may post it as often as and where you want :)

Q0.2: What is Chesmod and what does it do?
A0.2: Read the release notes ;P

Q1: Will it always be free?
A1: Yes. I'd be happy though, if you only download Chesmod from the link on its official site at http://www.myspace.com/Chesmod for your own safety and to keep an eye on its development. And if you like the program, maybe make a small donation or write me nice email at Chesmod@gmail.com :)

Q2: Do you (the author) have any affiliations to (other) groups or communities like 0x33.org, Deepblue7, rev6, etc.. ?
A2: No, I'm not a part of either group/community and this a private project of me and I still have no plans to change that.

Q3: I can't find an answer to my question neither in this FAQ nor in the release notes, how could I get any help to my problem?
A3: Ask in a community of your choice that supports Chesmod or simply drop me a mail at Chesmod@gmail.com

Q4: When I start Chesmod I get the "... Patch (4)" error, what now?
A4: Some program on your computer is running in the background that prevents Chesmod from operating correctly. In most cases it's a virus scanner who doesn't like that Chesmod is creating a new silk.dll for the bot and replacing the  original one of the bot program with this modded version ;) So if you are brave, stop your antivirus program until Chesmod says that you may start your bot program now =)

Q5: ... but I get the "... Patch (1)" or "... Patch (2)" error?
A5: Windows is locking some files in your bot folder to which Chesmod needs access. Close Chesmod and your Bot program, wait a few seconds and try again. Repeat this until you don't get the error anymore. If all fails, restart your computer and try again.

Q6: Chesmod said all is ok and I can start my bot program now, but if I click on it, the Silkroad Client won't start :S
A6: Most probably, you have a modded Silkroad Client installed. Try replacing it with the original Client!
This is a known problem, which has its origins in the packer I used for the modded silk.dll.
It will be fixed in the upcoming version (0.3).

Q7: Chesmod showed no errors, also my Client started smoothly after double clicking on the "finger icon" of my bot program...

Q7.1: ... but the autotraining button is still grey and all skills are "unknown" oO?
A7.1: Go to the "General" tab, check "Check me!", enter anything into the two boxes under the big "Activate Crack" button and click on it! Don't forget to click on "Refresh" in the skill section, so that your skills get shown as well!

Q8.2: ... but my bot just stands there and does nothing?
A8.2: Do the same as in A7.1 and A6. You may also have made a mistake when setting up your bot.

Q8.3: ... but my bot just stands there and does nothing after returning to town?
A8.3: Check "Loop all bot activiy!!!" in the "Loop" tab

Q9: I experience from time to time or even a lot of unusual disconnects.. what's the cause?
A9: See A6

Q10: Will Chesmod still work after the 24.7 (Europe update)?
A10: I planned to release a new version as soon as (or a few days after) the new bot is out :)

* Unlike others I decided to make my program publically available FOR FREE - WITHOUT forcing you to pay for it or to take part in any dubious community.
Nevertheless the process of creating this took time, my girlfriend's patience is NOT limited, my coffee and cigarette consume went to the high, ... ;)

I. Preconditions, limitations and security

* If you downloaded this program from another link than the one on http://www.myspace.com/chesmod IMMEDIATELY DELETE IT and visit http://www.myspace.com/chesmod for the correct download link and to look out for newer versions.

* Make sure you have iSROBOT 1.66 downloaded and installed somewhere on your hdd.

* The program doesn't change (or depend on) the original Silkroad client. So you can use the mod of your choice with it :)

* Chesmod WILL NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES send out any packet to a remote IP address! Everything is done LOCALLY!


II. How to use


* Simply start the Chesmod.exe and click on "START" to activate the program. If you start the program for the first time, you will be asked for the location of your srobot.exe after you clicked the "START" button. The program window mustn't be closed because it maintains a local server for the bot to connect to. It can be minimized to the system tray though if you click on "minimize" button of the window.
You can normally start Silkroad over the "finger icon" of the bot then, while Chesmod works in the background ;)


III. Features

* Modded and cleaned up bot setting windows (still look ugly, but hey this is the v0.1alpha ;P)

* Auto chat-back for private messages enabled

* Botting without limitation :)

- Semi transparent bot setting windows (in preparation for next version)


IV. Support

* If this program doesn't work correctly for you, you found any bugs or know how you or I can do something better, simply drop me a mail at Chesmod@gmail.com

* In case the Silkroad client doesn't start (correctly) after clicking on the "finger icon" of your bot, although Chesmod didn't give out any error please drop me mail, so we can try to solve the issue.
