Dear Christian Skaters Prayer Team,
Today 15 men headed off to Liberia to walk over 30 miles and encourage 13 churches in areas that have been devastated by the aftermaths of two lengthy civil wars. The mission is to encourage and bring unity to these churches as the war has created incredible amounts of division in the different tribes. The mission will be concluded by a three day pastors and youth conference in the capitol city with over 150 adult leaders throughout Liberia.
They have already had intense spiritual attacks with flight changes, health, homeland security advisories, planning, immigration, and more. But, we know the Lord is faithful. His plan is not our own, but it is ALWAYS better!
Day 1 Update
The team is off to Liberia. Pray for their travels today and the next three days in the bush. They will be walking over 30 miles in the next few days in area that can be very dangerous. Pray that they are able to reach all the churches, that the Lord protects them from danger (malaria, medicine men & snakes), and that they may be used greatly in encourage these church leaders. Pray for each of these men to stay healthy, strong, and close to the Lord. The meds they are taking for Malaria are very intense and cause mood swings, depression, nausea, and more. They will also be eating many foods that their bodies are unaccustomed to. The conditions are dangerous, rugged, and very different then they are used to. Pray that the Lord reveals His hand in all they do so that they too may be encouraged as they encourage others.
How can you pray?
Today we will spend the day fasting and in prayer for the team. We welcome you to join us. If you would like to send the team a message of encouragement, email them at info@ChristianSkaters.com
We appreciate all of your support and prayers. We will keep you all updated on this trip.
FYI - Uli does not have his cell phone. Please direct all messages and inquiries to the office 954-315-4360 (messages will be checked throughout the week) or email info@ChristianSkaters.com for quick responses.
May the Lord Bless You,
Toni

Do we want this to happen? Make sure you know why you believe what you believe. We already see so many turning from "Christianity" and taking a more emergent philosophy. Read, this, pray and let's do something to create disciples....not just believers

UPDATE: Crucified Ministries & Life Over Death Skatepark Johnstown, PA
We will be sharing 2008 ministry recaps. We hope that these stories encourage you to reach skaters in your own area.
"It has been a quite an exciting time in Johnstown, Pa in the last year. God has been working faster than we can actually keep up. Hard to believe, but it's true. Our ministry continues to grow. (We are averaging around 85 every week!) Our building is fully equipped now, other than needing a new floor, lights and a new bathroom. That will come in time though. More and more people are coming to help, and kids lives are transforming right in front of our eyes. I read in a letter a while ago, the difference between a youth group and a youth ministry, and found that in no way has our efforts lead toward a youth group. Our kids are being equipped for the battles that lie ahead,a nd are stepping up to show others the love of Christ.
A couple of months ago, God opened the door for us to purchase a catholic church that the diocese had left. We signed the papers 2 weeks ago, and are now proud owners of a church and parsonage! We asked and God provided!!!!
The church I am a member at approved a donation for our ministry on Sunday. They also took a love offering on Christmas Eve. I am not sure what the total was yet, but I know God has plans for every penny.
My ministry partner Josh and I are still clueless as to the direction God is leading us, but we are willing followers and look forward to the new adventures he has for us.
Thank you and have a safe and Happy New Year!"
Prayer Requests: God's guidance, the hearts of kids coming out every Monday & Tuesday, provision for the ministry, & safety in travels. Praise God for all the kids coming out & the things He has provided so far.
Needs: Lumber, building supplies, tools, Bibles, cleaning supplies, & First Aid Kits.

| DO SOMETHING: Skid Row
|
What would compel a group of skaters to leave their families, jobs, and lives to go to Skid Row, LA?
Matthew 25:35 I was hungry, and you gave me food. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was alone and away from home, and you invited me into your house. 36 I was without clothes, and you gave me something to wear. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.' 37 "Then the good people will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and give you food, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you alone and away from home and invite you into our house? When did we see you without clothes and give you something to wear? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and care for you?' 40 "Then the King will answer, 'I tell you the truth, anything you did for even the least of my people here, you also did for me.'
Pray for Uli from Christian Skaters as he joins Enoch Magazine for a mission to Skid Row, Los Angeles next week. The team is attempting to bridge the gap between the homeless on Skid Row and those living in homes and suburbs around the world. Not only are they creating awareness, but we are also offering a real opportunity to help the people in a series of Enoch documentary films. Skid Row is the word used to describe the downtown homeless district in Los Angeles. Most of its residents are there due to drug addiction, mental illness and/or financial distress. This community is made up of thousands of homeless people and encompasses a 4-5 block radius.
Last April, a team of 8 individuals from different cities and states joined together for an Enoch Documentary in Skid Row Los Angeles. This January they will go back to serve again. Read more here.

| GROW: He Provides
| Our entire Christian lives we are told to "trust God" that "He provides." But what does that mean?
Read Genesis 22:14. "And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-Jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen." The name by which God revealed himself to Abraham, "Jehovah-jireh," can be translated as "The Lord will Provide."
It is easy to watch the news today, see the stock market falling, and hear the words "recession" or "depression" and begin to panic, but as Christians we can trust that our Lord provides what we need. Matthew 6:26 says, "Look at the birds in the sky. They do not sow or reap or gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them." If we truly trust, we can put our worries aside and know that He has a plan greater than our own. How do we know this? Read Philippians 4:10-19 and look at the example below from an email we just received:
"God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish... all before making a human. He made and provided what we'd need before we were born. God left us great clues as to what foods help what part of our body! God's Pharmacy! Amazing!
A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye and YES science now shows that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart is red and has four chambers. All of the research shows tomatoes are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows that grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.
A walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds are on the nut just like the neo-cortex. We now know that walnuts help develop over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.
Kidney beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.
Celery, Bok Choy, rhubarb and more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Eggplant, avocadoes and pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female-they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats 1 avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly 9 months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit.
There are so many more fruits and vegetables that have these amazing attributes, watch the rest on this video."
