if you loved me
you say it every day
if you loved me
you'd save me
every time i fell and
every time i stalled and stuttered
with hours gone by and
times gone by
if you loved me
you listen to this song
and tell me what you'd
love to see changed, if
nothing at all
sometimes i can
think of passing this on and
perhaps writhe with
compromise
but that would be
no fun at all

i want to hear your voice again
in honest sense, a present tense
syllables and sentences built
just for me
language is such a strong
method of change and feeling
we program one another and
build upon our pasts
to build upon  a future
that supposedly will last
and i'm not sure
anything will be forever
but the way you dot your i's and
crost your we's i could
listen 'till i die
if only for a while

Unfortunately, some of the quality was dropped on youtube. Colors, etc, seem kinda muddled. Anyhow, here it is.

Yes, I did this. No, it is not finished. I am currently working on it. However, I figured I'd post a sample for those of you whom of which may be interested in what I've been up to during the term. This is a snippet of a video I'm doing for a class based on the song "Blood on our Hands" by Death From Above 1979. Supposed to be the middle "break down" section. Enjoy.

cave a little
notion and
bring back pain
as a higher grade token
of mid-life fame
and maybe
dedicate the notion
to a higher cause
named

naked and embraced
you come full
circle between belief
and regret
come spoken, in turn,
your absolute
virtues become
absolutes ignored
i'd love to hear you speak
if only you didn't
echo past consents

For those that care about every little delegate counted. In a way, it reminds me of celeb gossip blogs that watch for every time Britney drives drunk or every time Angelina whisks away another child from Africa.

Seriously, it's like Al Franken said several years back - the process will become a horse race. Interspersed between delegate counts, percentage points and opinion polls we get the Rev. Wright "scandal" and Clinton "dodging sniper fire". The sad thing is that, despite knowing all of this, I find myself caught up in it. Why? Because it's entertainment. The whole thing somehow taps into our brains the same way professional wrestling and reality television does. As Danny Elfman (of both Tim Burton and Oingo Boingo fame) once put it:

"Here we go watching CNN,
the adrenaline rushes through my veins.
Don't you know it's a feel good show,
electronic bliss.
It's a video, video..."

The reason I *do* pay attention is because there's a lot at stake with this election. Sadly, I believe the Democrats (as well as politics in general), sooner or later, will suffer from overexposure. Hell, I'm suffering from overexposure. I mean, I'd love to bury my head in the sand until the convention comes around. Staple blinders and ear muffs to my head. Lock me in a sensory deprivation tank and shoot me full of tranquilizers. I just don't want to care any more. And I'm afraid everyone else will, eventually, feel the same way. When the good television ends and actual debates headed by real moderators are televised, will anyone be watching?

I think most of you can make that out. If not, then...basically it states that I’ve been accepted into the Digital Arts program at UO.

I now have a license...to be pretentious!

I alread love this song a whole hell of a lot. The video is icing on the cake. From what I gather, it’s actually an animated film called "chronopolis" by Pitor Kamler set to Tobin’s music. Nevertheless, the two match each other rather well.

This is part two of a short arc via XKCD. Taken by itself, it encapsulates my previous relationship (i.e. the "what the hell?" factor).

And no, I'm not exaggerating in any given way. I owe the artist over at XKCD a pizza.
