Connie Talbot, Britain's Got Talent's Youngest Superstar, Launches Jewelry Line

A portion of the proceeds from select designs will benefit Toys For Tots Charity

Having already conquered the worlds of music and television, Britain’s 8-year-old singing superstar Connie Talbot is now entering the world of jewelry design! Recently named Child Ambassador for the 2009 Marine Toys for Tots campaign, dedicating herself to fundraising for this wonderful organization through the sale of her Holiday Magic CD, this charming, talented young lady now announces the launch of ConnieGirl Jewelry.

In conjunction with the New Jersey-based Jubili Beads & Yarns®, ConnieGirlJewelry.com debuts with a set of lovely pieces designed by Connie herself. The bracelet Connie designed for the US Marines’ Toys for Tots annual campaign features their unmistakable three-car train logo, designed by Walt Disney in 1948. Connie is also introducing a line of choker necklaces and bracelets dedicated to raising awareness of the most common types of cancer. Ten percent of the profits from the sale of each and every bracelet of these two special lines will be donated to the Toys for Tots campaign, as well as several cancer research organizations. Another impressive ConnieGirl design to be premiered is her “Devotion” necklace—by wearing one, fans can walk with their favorite singer in heartfelt devotion this coming holiday season, and beyond. “The Singing Stone” is a stylish, eye-catching necklace featuring a musical note pendant and amber stone chips.

“We are thrilled to be working with Connie,” says Judy Weinstein, president of Jubili Beads & Yarns®. “We have enjoyed bringing her colorful, chic, fun, timeless and creative ideas to life. As jewelry designers, we at Jubili Beads & Yarns® are also committed to helping fund breast cancer research and public awareness. With Connie so committed to helping the Toys for Tots program, we saw early on that our partnership in this joint jewelry effort was the perfect match. By wearing Connie’s Toys for Tots and Cancer Awareness designs, her fans will be helping Connie extend the many ways in which she so generously helps others.”

The ConnieGirl Toys for Tots bracelets will be available in different sizes to comfortably fit wrists of both children and adults, with “stretchy” bracelets for the youngest children and chain extensions on the adult sizes. Each bracelet is comprised of two lead-free pewter charms—featuring the Toys for Tots logo and the ConnieGirl logo—which is found on all the jewelry to tell you it’s an authentic ConnieGirl Jewelry design. Czech glass beads (round/oval and stars), white miracle beads, silver spacers and silver plated “findings” (clasp, extender chain, etc.), finish the Toys for Tots bracelets in style. All of the different ConnieGirl jewelry designs are perfect for everyday wear, affordable and eye-catching.

“I hope everyone has as much fun wearing it as I did designing it,” says Miss Talbot of the Toys For Tots bracelet. “And don’t forget we are helping other people, too.”

The launch of ConnieGirl Jewelry, which can be purchased online at
www.conniegirljewelry.com, is the latest development in the busy life of the young vocalist who first came to attention as a contestant two years ago on the Simon Cowell-hosted Britain’s Got Talent. In addition to the launch of ConnieGirl Jewelry, Connie will be featured in her own one-hour Holiday Magic TV special. Produced by WVIA, the PBS affiliate in northeastern Pennsylvania, this will be the first United States television special starring Connie. The high-definition special will be available to all PBS stations for broadcast during the holiday season. Holiday Magic will include all of the songs from the singer’s upcoming Connie Talbot Holiday Magic CD.

Connie Talbot, Britain’s 8-Year-Old Vocal Star, to Be Featured in Holiday Magic Television Special

Magic will surely be in the air this holiday season! Connie Talbot, the acclaimed 8-year-old British singing sensation, will star in her own one-hour Holiday Magic TV special, to be taped September 24-27th by WVIA Public Media Studios, the PBS affiliate in northeastern Pennsylvania. The exciting special will be the first in the United States for Connie, who initially came to worldwide attention two years ago as a finalist on the mega-popular, Simon Cowell hosted entertainment program Britain’s Got Talent.

The high-definition special, produced by WVIA Public Media Studios, will be available nationally to all PBS stations for use from the second week of November through December, and will feature all of the songs from the new CD, Connie Talbot’s Holiday Magic, which will be released October 13th. The DVD of the one-hour program, distributed by WVIA Public Media Studios, will also feature additional songs and interview footage with Connie.

“Connie is simply perfect for PBS audiences, and just the right fit this upcoming holiday season,” said Bill Kelly, CEO and President of WVIA. “She will warm the hearts of our viewers and families coast to coast.” PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) currently has 354 member TV stations in the United States.

The special will be filmed in front of a live audience and will feature the young songbird’s renditions of classic holiday tunes, including “Frosty the Snowman,” “Ave Maria,” “Silent Night” and “Walking In the Air.”

Says AAO Chairman Peter G. Kuys, who personally assisted in the creation of the WVIA special, “This is another wonderful step in Connie’s career. I think it will be great for PBS, great for Toys for Tots and great for Connie. This audience and demographic is perfect for her talents and reach.” Over 60 million people in 39 million households watch public television on-air weekly, with more than 124 million people accessing PBS content either on-air or online in a typical month.

The holiday album and new television special will cap off an incredibly prolific and successful year for the rising star. Connie enjoyed successful hit singles with the classic “I Will Always Love You” and “Three Little Birds,” and continual strong sales of her debut album, Over the Rainbow (all released on AAO/Reality). Connie has traveled all over the U.S. and abroad to such locales as Japan and South Korea, where she is a platinum-selling artist.

Recently named child ambassador for the 2009 Marine Toys for Tots campaign, Connie plans to donate part of the proceeds from CD sales in support of the worthy charity.

Connie Talbot Named Child Ambassador for 2009 Marine Toys for Tots Campaign,
Announces Holiday Album

Who better than a child to represent the highly esteemed Marine Corps Toys for Tots Campaign? And what better child than Connie Talbot, the acclaimed 8-year-old vocalist who first came to worldwide attention as a finalist on the mega-popular entertainment program Britain’s Got Talent? Upon her installation as ambassador for the U.S. Marine Corps’ annual holiday charitable program, the pint-sized superstar immediately announced that she would dedicate her forthcoming holiday album to Toys for Tots and donate part of the proceeds to the venerable organization. In addition, Connie will help promote the cause and spread the Toys for Tots message around the nation.

Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a national not-for-profit program that has, for more than 60 years, provided new, unwrapped toys to our nation’s neediest children during the holiday season. By distributing more than 350 million toys during its history, Toys for Tots has not only given children new playthings, but also a message of hope. Through toy drives and coordinated activities, Toys for Tots has united communities and provided role models.

“The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is extremely proud and excited to have Connie as our youngest ambassador ever,” said retired Marine Corps Major Bill Grein, vice president of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. “She is the perfect person to inform the public of the millions of less fortunate children who may be overlooked this Christmas holiday season, unless people step up to donate a toy or make a cash contribution. Her angelic looks and voice will remind everyone of the innocence of children,” Grein continued. “And they all deserve to experience the magic of the holiday season! I hope she sells lots of CDs and raises a lot of money and awareness for our children.”

Connie Talbot is proud to support the cause and will help popularize the Marine Toys for Tots program by promoting it in advertisements and on television during the fourth quarter of 2009. The promotion will coincide with the October 13th release of Connie Talbot’s Holiday Magic, featuring the young songbird’s renditions of classic holiday songs. Connie will also perform at a number of Toys for Tots fundraising events across the U.S.

“I'm completely proud for AAO and Connie to be part of this great cause,” says Peter G. Kuys, chairman. “Not only that, but I believe that Connie epitomizes what Toys for Tots stands for and will do the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots foundation proud. We here at AAO/Reality will support that with all of our hearts.”

The holiday album and the Marine Toys for Tots alliance will cap off an incredibly prolific and successful year for the rising star. Connie enjoyed successful hit singles with the classic “I Will Always Love You” and “Three Little Birds,” and continual strong sales of her debut album, Over the Rainbow (all released on AAO/Reality). In the two years since her discovery—at the age of 6—on the Simon Cowell-hosted Britain’s Got Talent, Connie has traveled all over the U.S. and abroad to such locales as Japan and South Korea, where she is a platinum-selling artist.

When asked about her Toys for Tots announcement, Connie states, “I’m sad and happy—sad because I’m learning there are so many children who are not as lucky as I am, and I’m happy that I'm able to help them.”

Buoyed by the success at radio Connie Talbot's single 'I Will Always Love You' reached the #3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Single Sales chart.  The single has been on the charts for over 10 weeks.

Written and first recorded by country music legend Dolly Parton, 'I Will Always Love You' is most often associated with Whitney Houston, who had a smash hit with it in the 1990's. Now, Connie Talbot is making it all her own, and the song has deep personal meaning to the young singer. Among those who loved Houston's rendition was Connie's late grandmother. They sang the song together when Connie was just a baby, and it is to her beloved grandmother (whom Connie called 'Nan') that this remarkable talent dedicates her recording of this timeless tune.
