Another anime that I finished watching, Yozakura Quartet. In my other blog, my review is based on my first impression about this anime but for this blog, it's based on overall impression. Beware, this review is absolutely different than the one in my other blog.

Synopsis: The story revolves around a quartet of teenaged heroes: A super-strong girl named Hime, a mind reader named Ao, a conjurer named Kotoha and an ordinary, powerless boy named Akina. The three girls and Akina protect the city of Sakurashin from supernatural threats

Source: Anime News Network

Comment: Well, I do find this anime interesting because it involves with supernatural power. At first the anime doesn't really have a main plot until the later episode where they were faced with Enjin, who possesed Gin, Hime and Akina's friend (okay, spoiler here for those who haven't watched this anime). This is the turning point where the anime starts to become interesting. However, the anime didn't really reveal how Gin was possesed by Enjin. I don't know whether I must've missed it somewhere or it wasn't explained in the anime, so that's the only thing that I can't figure out. Overall, the storyline is just plain normal therefore watch this if you like supernatural stuff.

Before I begin with the review, I know that I've been neglecting this blog for so long. To be honest, I don't mean to neglect this blog. It's just that I've been making money with my other blog so I end up leaving this blog behind. I do wish that I can make money from this blog but unfortunately I can't because it involves other procedure which I find it rather......pricy on my side. Anyway, maybe I should keep on updating this blog even though it doesn't generate money. So here's my review. Sorry for this long rambles.

Synopsis: Soul Eater is an anime that centers around meisters and their weapons and their mission to collect 99 evil souls and 1 witch soul. Upon doing that the meister's weapons will become a Deathscythe, which is the highest title for a weapon. Maka, Soul Eater, Black Star, Tsubaki, Death the Kid, and Patty and Liz Thompson are the characters Soul Eater revolves around. Besides taking the time to gather souls these students of Shibusen defend Death City from some of the most powerful of creatures while still attending school and trying to become stronger.

Comment: Firstly, I know that Soul Eater is almost close to an end (honestly speaking I haven't watched the latest episode yet) but anyway, you still have time to watch this anime. Storyline-wise, it has a clear storyline so it'll be easy to understand the main objectives of this anime. The story is pretty relaxing at first but once the conflict arise, it becomes full of action. I know the story sounds typical shonen anime, but what I find amazing about this anime is the graphic (it sounds wrong when I say this >___>) reminds me of The World Ends With You (Subarashiki Kono Sekai in Japanese). With the weird-looking sun and the moon, I personally think this anime has its own charm. I know this anime is almost reaching the end, but I would like you to watch this anime at least once in your entire lifetime XD

People, let me tell you that I'm still alive and breathing out here but due to the personal reason, I neglect this poor blog of mine. But now, I'm back with another on-going anime, Nabari no Ou.

Synopsis: Rokujou Miharu is a boy who has a hijutsu (hidden technique) living inside of him. This hijutsu is the power of creation. Many ninja clans are seeking it as the one who possesses it becomes the ruler of the ninja world. Rokujou's classmate Kouichi started a nindou ("Way of the Ninja") club at school with Kumohira, his English teacher. Both Kouichi and Kumohira are secretly ninjas. They tried to persuade Rokujou to join the ninjutsu club. At first, he was reluctant, but after being attacked by group of ninjas trying to get his hijutsu, he joins. He must become the Ruler of Nabari in order to survive.

Comment: What attracted me to watch this anime is because of Raimei. When I watch the first episode, the feeling of excitement and anticipation of this anime seems gone. It's not that this anime is a crappy anime but the storyline is abit messy with the poor characters' introductions. I don't need a detail explanation because it's not really a good thing to cram everything in one episode but somehow it confused me soemtimes. Not just that, it's way too early to explain each of the characters's motives making the feeling of excitement lost even more so at the end of the day, it turns out to be least than you've expected. Even though I don't really like how the story flows but I just hope it'll get more interesting, something that I still have a little faith in it.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (also known as Goodbye Mr. Despair  in English) is an anime adapted from the manga by Koji Kumeta.

Synopsis: revolves around a very pessimistic high school teacher named Nozomu Itoshiki who tries to hang himself on a cherry blossom tree. Despite his best efforts, he is saved by a very optimistic girl known as Kafuka Fūra. She explains to him that it is simply unforgivable to hang himself on a day such a nice day, especially in front of such beautiful trees. She decides to nickname Nozomu "Pink Supervisor," offering to pay him fifty yen to do so. After having enough of the strange girl, Nozomu bolts to the school and starts his homeroom class, but the attempt was in vain as he finds that the girl is one of his students.

Source: Anime News Network

Comment: Firstly, I'm kinda confused with Itoshiki's behavior. He always wants to commit suicide but when he's in the midst of commiting suicide, he'll say what will happened if he died. So I was wondering what he actually had in mind about death, whether he really means it or he just wanna give it a try. He always exaggarate over something that is totally ridiculous but as the story progress, whatever things that he exaggerated seems a bit sensible but it still makes me confused and twisted even more. In other words, I don't really get the point what's he trying to say. Each students in his class with different behavior will be introduced in each episodes so the plot doesn't just revolve Itoshiki. There'll be an ad in between but the ad can be not related with the story or it's just plain hentai. This anime is only recommended for the true fans. If you're not the fan, you may or may not enjoy this anime.

Onegai Teacher! (also known as Please Teacher! in English) is an anime adapted from the manga by Yousuke Kuroda and Shizuru Hayashiya which was serialized in Comic Dengeki Daioh.

Synopsis: Kusanagi Kei, a high-school student living with his aunt and uncle, has an encounter with a female alien. This alien is revealed to be a new teacher at his school. Later, he is forced to marry this alien to preserve her secrets. From there, various romantically-inclined problems crop up repeatedly.

Source: Anime News Network

Comment: Honestly, I regret watching this anime not because it's a crappy anime. I do find the story interesting but I don't like the idea of dating someone who is a lot younger than you. In this case, I'm referring to the girl who is a lot older than the guy itself and the worst part is it's the relationship between the teacher and a student. It really kills my brain cell because that guy seems clueless and they are like heaven and earth - the teacher is well, pretty and has a nice body whereas the guy is just like a normal guy. This guy is pretty lucky to have a woman like that as his wife (what??). I can't really believe it myself that I managed to watch this anime until the end. The story is basically about relationship between Kei and Mizuho so if you don't mind about this kind of story, feel free to watch. Avoid this anime at all cost if you don't like fluff.

Busou Renkin is an anime adapted from the manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki which is widely known with the manga Rurouni Kenshin.

Synopsis: One night, Kazuki Muto jumps in to try to save what he thinks is a girl in distress from a monster and instead gets impaled through the heart. The girl, Tokiko, is actually an alchemic warrior with a Busou Renkin, name of Valkerie Skirt, with the mission to exterminate Homunculi. She implants the only other successful work of alchemy than the Homunculus, the Kakugane, to take the place of Kazuki's heart. The Kakugane resonates with his fighting spirit and forms a Busou Renkin (in his case a spear) so he can fight the Homunculus monsters who prey on humans. Kazuki joins with Tokiko to battle with the Homunculi and protect his friends and his sister Mahiro.

Source: Anime News Network

Comment: My main reason I'm watching this anime is because of I'm a fan of Nobuhiro Watsuki so I didn't get my hands on the manga yet, so basically I don't know whether the anime really does follow exactly like the manga or not. If you're familiar with the battles in Rurouni Kenshin, I must say that the battle is also similar like Rurouni Kenshin in Busou Renkin. The storyline maybe a bit fuzzy at first but it'll become clearer later on. There's not much jargons in this anime so the storyline is fairly easy to understand. The violence in this anime is also tolerable so it's safe for kids to watch it. Overall, watch this anime if you really like action-pack anime like Busou Renkin.

I never write a review about on-going anime series before but this time I'm giving this an exception because I want people to have a look at this anime. This anime is an adaption from manga by Akira Amano. The anime currently have 86 episodes and it's still on air.

Synopsis: Tsuna is a hapless youth with low test scores and lower self esteem. His mother hires a tutor to help Tsuna out, but it comes as a surprise to the both of them when the tutor is a baby named Reborn, claiming to be from the Mafia. Reborn informs Tsuna that he's the next heir to the Vongola family mafia family and tries to help Tsuna reach the goal. Reborn possesses the Dying Will bullet, which kills a person and brings them back to life to fulfill the last regret they had, and even works to get Tsuna some henchmen to make him a true mafia boss-in-training.

Comment: This anime is absolutely hilarious!! Starting from the first episode until the latest episode, this anime never fails to make me laugh. The storyline is easy to understand because it's very straight forward. There'll be tons of new characters as the storyline progress, making the storyline even more interesting and hilarious. Let me spoil a bit: whenever Tsuna was shot with Dying Will bullet, he always end up with just a boxer during and after the shot. This always happen in every episodes, so this is one of the part that makes this anime absolutely hilarious...in a good way that is. Tsuna is totally a useless guy but there are some things that makes him different than any other guy so don't hate him yet. I find that voice acting for Reborn is cute becauseit really does suits him but maybe some of you will not like his voice. I highly recommended everyone to watch this anime because it's funny. If you're so used to watch on-going anime like Naruto, Bleach or D-Gray Man, this anime should be in your list too as it's much more laidback than those anime I've mentioned.

The Law of Ueki is also known as Ueki no Housoku in Japanese. This anime is an adaption from the manga by Tsubasa Fukuchi which has 51 episodes.

Synopsis: Kousuke Ueki, a student of the Hinokuni Junior High School, is picked by a God Candidate, Koba-sen, to participate in a competition where people battle out to become God and only the strongest will prevail. Embodied with the ability to turn garbage into trees, Kousuke will be joining in the battle against other junior high school students in this selection. This sets the premise for the earth-friendly battle where the students will pit their powers against the rest.

Source: Anime News Network

Comment: Most people think that The Law of Ueki is meant for those under 14 years and below which makes me think why. Is it because this anime doesn't even have any violence element so it's suitable for kids under 14? Well, maybe yes but the storyline isn't that neither easy nor hard to understand. Then again, I'm not so sure it follows the actual manga storyline or not because I didn't read the manga. If you don't fancy the manga artwork, watching the anime is another option but it's still up to you. If you never read the manga before, the story's pace is acceptable because the first episode really give you a very good introduction why Ueki has the power to convert garbage into trees (talk about enviromental friendly power here) and some info about his power. You don't need rocket science to figure out the concept of the story so it's easy to understand. This anime is pretty laidback for the first few episodes but the story is getting intense and interesting as the story progressed. There are always funny moments and sometimes sad moment but it's still fun to watch. Adults may find the story childish but to me, it's really fun to watch because it's full of action, suspense, comedy and it's very laidback. If you're searching for anime that is full of action but still prefer someting very laidback, this anime is meant for you.

Thanks to this particuar person (I won't tell you who), I'm so hooked with this anime that I was watching it like there's no tomorrow. Fate/Stay Night is originally a visual novel created by Type-Moon. This anime has 24 episodes altogether.

Synopsis: Shirou Emiya lost his parents in a fire when he was young and was later adopted by a sorceror by the name of Kiritsugu Emiya. Although he was full of admiration for his adopted father and yearns to become an ally of justice, Shirou has limited powers and was unable to become a strong sorceror like his father. That is until one fateful day, he was drawn into the Holy Grail War and had to summon a female "Servant" known as Saber in order to protect himself. It turns out that the Holy Grail War involves a series of battles among powerful sorcerors to fight for the possession of a relic that will grant one's wishes, the Holy Grail. There are altogether seven "Masters" who can summon their respective "Servants" from different classes known as Saber, Archer, Rider, Berserker, Lancer, Caster and Assasin. These "Servants" have to hide their names in order not to reveal their weaknesses to the enemies. The story revolves around Shirou and his entanglement in the Holy Grail War.

Source: Anime News Network

Comment: Since this anime is the adaptation of the visual novel, I'm not really sure the anime really does follow the actual storyline or not because there could be some of the parts in the novel are not included in the anime (it's the same case like Kingdom Hearts novel where there are some of the scenes not in the game are included in the novel) so if you really have a doubt about the anime, then maybe you should read the novel (it's in Japanese, of course). You may feel like the flow of the story is moderate but in anime, waiting for Saber to appear is very long as she appeared in the second episode so I find it rather slow. Maybe there's nothing I can do about it because that's how the storyline suppose to be. There are quite a lot of jargon words here so you really need to pay attention and some facts about the Holy Grail War. These jargons and the facts will keep on repeating so you don't really have  to worry about missing some points. The story doesn't just revolve around Holy Grail War all the time so there are also moments where everything is so calm and relax, therefore there's humor to fill the moment to make the story less tense. The scenes can be very violent most of the time with blood splashing so watch with caution. Overall, I find this anime very interesting despite of the serious storyline so it's not surprising if most people like Fate/Stay Night, it doesn't matter the visual novel, anime or the manga. This is an anime that you really must watch.

As I promise you, the review for Rozen Maiden Traumend. I've watched a lot of anime so luckily I didn't forget to write about this one.

Synopsis: As summer break arrives for the students, Jun Sakurada is busily studying on his own in the library, making up for time lost while he had confined himself to his home. Meanwhile, his Rozen Maiden doll, Shinku, has been having troubling dreams of late. The pain and sadness of defeating Suigintou was overwhelming, despite the inevitable battle they waged. After waking suddenly from a nightmare, she finds Suigintou's companion spirit wandering; upon giving chase, she discovers that the seventh Doll-- Barasuishou-- has awakened. She now realizes that Suigintou's fate may very well befall the other Dolls, for the appearance of the last Doll signals the beginning of the end of the Alice Games.

Source: Anime News Network

Comment: If you haven't watch the first season, you will not understand the storyline at all so watch the first Rozen Maidenn before watching this as the story continues from the first season. Even though new characters were added (Barasuishou and Kanaria) the story still has this intensed feeling and funny just like the first season. I don't really want to spoil you but if you have watched the first season, they mentioned something about their creator who they call it Father. If you're thinking that the mystery of Father will be reveal in Traumend, don't put your hope high up. even though Traumend reveals slightly who's the creator but it's still blurry how does he actually look like. Even I don't really like how the story ends because it looks like clifthanger to me. Even though the anime doesn't really answer some of my curiosity, it's still worth watching only if you have watch the first season.
