WOW!  Now granted I am not the most unbiased person when it comes to Eric Sardinas & Big Motor but HOLY SHIT they were on fire last nite at Sam's Place in Wichita, KS.  The last time I saw ES & BM was in 09/06 and a combination of a shitty club, rude waitresses and piss poor promotion made the show a bummer.  You could tell that if not for the fact the fans wanted them there that the band DID NOT want to be there!  While the show still rocked it lacked the passion that the band is notorious for.....

Fast forward to last night.....the band was firing on all cylinders and put on one of the best shows I've seen of Eric since the first time I saw him in 2002!  This is by far the tightest lineup I've seen with Eric, hence why they are called BIG MOTOR!!  A simple three piece band with the power of ten, the band consists of Eric Sardinas on Dobro/Vocals, Levell Price on Bass/Backing Vocals and Patrick Caccia on Drums/Percussion/and Backing Vocals!!  I was accompanied to the show by my dear friend Marlena and my ex-brother in law Todd who was the one responsible for getting me into THE BLUES almost 20 years ago, so this was kind of my Thank You to him!!  He was highly impressed with the show!

Having just released a new album simply titled ERIC SARDINAS & BIG MOTOR this week!! The album consists of nine (9) original tunes and two (2) cover tunes that run the gament of straight ahead rockers, to sweet acoustic numbers and everything in between.  This is their best recorded ouput so far!!!

Unfortunately, I believe their record company, Favored Nations, which is ran by legendary guitarist Steve Vai, is sabotaging any chance this record has at success by not getting the word out that it has been released and by only making actual cd's available through their own website store or at Eric's live shows.  This means you can't run down to Best Buy, Wal Mart, Target, Circuit City or one of your favorite 'Mom n Pops' stores and get it.  I, for one, don't own an iPod and I know many people who don't plus I'm kind of old fashioned in the fact I'd rather buy a CD and I look forward to seeing the artwork, lyrics, photos and whatever else they cram into the liner notes!

AVAILABLE AT:

Back to the live show....Eric & Company hit the stage around 8:30pm and were in fine form.  The crowd wasn't as big as I'd like to see but for a Sunday night it was more than I expected and they were behind ES & BM 110%!  The setlist consisted of (in no particular order) I'm Worried, Treat Me Right, Texola, I Can't Be Satisfied, Hellhound On My Trail, It's Nothin New, If You Don't Love Me, As The Crow Flies, Ride and 8 Goin' South.  Those are what I can remember as I didn't keep a list and I know there were several more including a nice solo spot for Levell and Patrick that ended up in a balls-to-the-wall jam with Eric.

After the show I had a chance to catch up with my pal Levell as well as Eric.....Patrick was occupied by the presence of a few young ladies but did take the time to say Hello!  Eric was gracious enough to sign some graphic art that Jaylene had done of him, I just wished she could have attended and heard the compliments of him first hand but health issues forced her to stay home and relax, oh well, there's always next time!  Hopefully, it won't be another year and a half before the next time!!  If you have a chance to catch ERIC SARDINAS & BIG MOTOR.......DO IT!

ALL PHOTOGRAPHY/GRAPHIC ART COURTESY OF JUSTIN CRAFTON EXCEPT THE CD COVER, PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM ELSEWHERE................................................OR ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

In early 1989 I moved to Long Beach California (LBC) w/ my biological father Curtis.  Everyone I knew at the time begged me not to do it esp my Mom, her soon-to-be husband Omar (my adoptive Dad) and my brother Greg!  They wondered why I would choose to go with him considering from the time I was a baby I had hated and despised him.  Long story short is he was a drug addicted alcohol fueled MONSTER in every since of the word who often used the excuse he had polio when he was a child for his actions!

Well, to be honest, I was 10 1/2 years old, my Mom slaved away at several jobs to keep us fed, I hardly ever saw her and on top of that my brother was locked up and my sister was off chasing rockstars!  Curtis promised me the moon and the stars!

He told me if I moved to LBC w/ him he'd get me a Nintendo, he'd take me to any Oakland A's ball games when they were in Anaheim and I'd get to see the LA Lakers play.  At that age, I was a huge A's/Lakers fan esp of the A's 33 Jose Canseco and the Lakers 33 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar!  It sounded too good to be true....and it was!  Sure, I got the Nintendo and got to see and meet Canseco but what I went through was HELL to say the least!

Everyday living in LBC w/ Curtis was like living with a schizophrenic tornado.  The beatings got worse as Greg or my Mom were no longer there to take theirs.  I got em' all!  I've often said I could find a cure for Cancer and AIDS in the same day and Curtis would bitch (than bitchslap me) for not curing Herpes too!  There was no winning with him!

Granted I wasn't an angel!  I had made friends with a kid from school named Ron Voll and his brother Joey.  We were hellion thugs to say the least.....if it could be stole or broken, we stole it or broke it!  We jipped school more times that I care to remember.....my claim to fame was that I attended 8 days of school my entire 6th grade year in LBC!!  I was eventually expelled from the entire school district!!  But Curtis never knew of all this!  He would fly off the handle because we were home when he got home at 2am from drinking or that we hung a towel in the bathroom wrong!  I'd hate to see what happened if he knew what all we had done!

Ron and I were inseperable.  Where one was, there was the other!  We shared soooo many interests, we might as well been twins!  He was a huge Mark McGwire fan, 25 for the Oakland A's at the time.  So, when we played little league or neighborhood baseball games, everyone dubbed us 'The Bash Brothers Jr'!!  Towards the end of 1989 I couldn't handle the physical, mental or other abuse that I was taking and began plotting to either run away or kill Curtis.

I'd contacted the LBC Police after he hit me across the face with a razor strap that had his name embossed in it.  It welted my face and left Curtis embossed across my face for weeks, however, they claimed I had a friend do it and never questioned Curtis.  Curtis always had a gun for protection.  One day I stole a handful of bullets from his stash and the gun.  I had had enough and was gonna slay the monster for good.  I just had to to at the most opportune time.  I feared if I tried it when he was awake he'd get the gun and kill me so I was going to wait for a night when he passed out and pump his head full of lead.

Before the plan could be hatched and after seeing the aftermath of someone's suicide, I was whisked away and told that Ron had killed himself  To my recollection I spent a few weeks in a psych-ward and than shipped to my aunt and uncle's in Kansas.  That whole period was a blur, from the beginning of 1990-1992, I went through extensive psychological treatment and was put on meds to control my anger, mood swings, tantrums and nightmares!  The nightmares began after returning to KS.  In these nightmares, I would get a call to go to Ron's for an emergency, when I arrived his Mom was freakin out, the cops wouldn't let me in so I scaled the back fence and burst inside to see Ron under a sheet and drenched in blood.  I pulled the sheet open and picked up what remained of my friend and kissed him and screamed it wasnt supposed to be him.  Than I'd awaken!  The suicide actually happened......years later I learned it wasn't Ron though!

For 15+ years I'd re-live this scene in my dreams every week!  Than in late 2004 as Curtis battled terminal cancer, someone gave him my telephone number and he left a message that stated "Guess what, your best friend isn't really dead, I brainwashed you into believeing that, haha!"  My Dad (Omar) and best friend John Ketron heard the message, I was freaking, why after I cut that asshole out of my life was he making fun of Ron's suicide.  After talking w/ my Mom she convinced me to try and track his parents down for answers!  With the internet, I was able to find his Dad's and called.  A lady whom I have since learned was his aunt said they no longer lived in the house but had moved just up the street and that she'd deliver a message to Ron Sr. for me.  I gave her my old name and explained I was a friend of Ron's, had moved to LBC from Ks in 1989 but was shipped back in late 1989 after Ron (Jr) committed suicide.  The lady than told me I was mistaken, Ron Jr and Ron Sr were both alive.  I was shocked and in tears.  She called me a few days later saying Ron Sr didn't remember me and that was probably because both Ron's were estranged from each other for years.

All these years, 15 or more, I'd suffered painful nightmares and extensive emotional problems all because some monster had convinced me and brainwashed me that my best friend had committed suicide.  How sick can one person be?  All the years since my return from LBC I told everyone he was a monster and I didn't want to be near him.  Hell, in 1992 he faked his own death to avoid jailtime only to show up on my parents doorstep in 1993.  The only people that EVER believed me of his sick sadistic nature were my Mom and my Brother.  My own sister thought he was a sweetie, his own sister thought he could do no wrong but admits he did have a temper, his own neice and nephew adored him, and my Dad never understood til 2004 why I was so set on being adopted and distancing myself from everything having to do with his evil-ness!!

Fast forward to this week!  I'd spent since late 2004 trying to find Ron or his older brother Joey.  I looked in NCIC (a tool for those in Law Enforcement) and searched anything I could on the internet!  Than Saturday night I ran my 'monthly' search for people named Ron Voll in LBC and there he was!  I started balling and shaking.  For 15 years I thought he was dead, for the last 3+ years I knew he wasn't yet couldn't find him and with a few keystrokes, there he was!  I msg'd him and his brother whom also had a MySpace page.  His brother Joey responded within an hour and quickly set me up with his number, we finally made contact Wednesday night!  Turns out he told them I was dead as well!!  Sick S.O.B.!  Either way, THE BASH BROTHERS JR ARE BACK TOGETHER!

We are hoping to get together in the Summer of 2008!

I designed a tattoo for Ron and I back in 2000, and am planning on getting it as soon as I can.....when I do, I will post it!

Greetings Ya'All~

Just thought I'd post a new bloggy-blog to keep my peeps up-to-date with all the news that is news in CrashLand!! Take a prozac, strap yo'self down and enjoy the ride......

For those who aren't aware......I am back living in Ashland KS. Have been here since August. It's weird to be back here yet it feels right....mainly cause of my new Mrs. For those in the dark, Jay and I's relationship has went on to the next level and I couldn't be happier if I were twins!! We've told many of our close friends and family, some we haven't been able to touch base with or the time wasn't right, so if you are reading this and are shocked, oops sorry! Not really!! Jay and I have been really close friends since early 2005, so due to that, I believe we are past that awkward stage, I'm just waiting for her to smack me with a broom for leaving my dirty clothes on the floor!!

Anywho, with that said.....this past weekend we took an "US" weekend to Wichita to see a few concerts, do some shopping, and generally get away from everyday stresses!! Friday we arrived in Wichita, found a nice lil' motel, and preceeded to do some shopping around town.....picked up some cool stuff @ The Village Flea Market incl. an outfit I spotted for her grandbaby, it is soooo cool, it's a SHREK onesy with a matching green hat complete with SHREK ears!! Finally found me some new shoes or U-Boats as my Dad likes to call em!! Found a couple cool shirts and some new shorts....can't ever have enough shorts esp with winter approaching!! Found my pal Ketron a cool VADER (Star Wars) shirt which I've yet to see him model!!

After shopping, we hit the hotel for a bit of relaxation and rest....finally tracked down my moron sister to find out the results of Mookie's test....it isn't good, he was diagnosed with CHRON'S DISEASE , the DR. said his case was one of the more severe she'd ever seen, adult or child. This has me worried as Mookie is only 14 years old.....I really hope the meds do their job as the alternative is not something I could fathom a 14 yr old having to endure!! So, for those reading this, please keep Mookie in your thoughts and prayers!! It'd mean a lot to me and his family!!

Friday afternoon, I returned to a place I thought I'd never return to until I died and my ashes were spread there......I took Jay with me to somewhere that nobody knows about and if they (bro/sis) do, they've forgotten about........it is my SANCTUARY......when I was between 7-11 yrs of age, I lived in the Oaklawn section of Wichita.......not a very Brady neighborhood but hey, it fit my childhood!! Well, I discovered the first day I was @ the school that if you walked all the way to the EAST end of the playground that there was a wooded area with a beautiful creek running through it. It couldnt be seen by anyone.....many of nights were spent there avoiding the beatings dished out by the bio-father or just spent there cuz I was afraid to be home alone cuz my brother and sister were either partying with ppl not worthy of breathing or they were long gone from home!! My Mom knew of my sanctuary....just cause we stayed there a few nights avoiding SATAN....so in 2005 before she died she req'd I take a portion of her ashes out there and spread em so when and if I came back to Wichita, I had a place to go visit her!! I fulfilled her wishes but in the 2 1/2 years since her death I couldn't get myself to go out there cuz I knew I couldn't either handle it alone or wouldn't wanna leave......I decided to take Jay there so she could get a grasp on certain aspects of my life that will always HAUNT me and in some small way to meet my beloved Mother whom she never had the chance to.........I know in my heart and soul, Mom would adore her and if she didn't at least they coulda shared clothes, them damn hippies!! I KNOW MOM WOULD HAVE LOVED JAY & I KNOW MOM WOULDA PULLED ME ASIDE AND THREATENED IF I DIDN'T TREAT THIS ONE RIGHT THAT SHE'D CUT MY BALLS OFF AND FEED EM TO ME!!

Friday evening Jay and I had dinner @ Carlos O' Kelley's....kinda neat as they had an open patio for dining! We than ran by my brother Greg's house.....it was the first time she had met him, his boys, Kobe and Dakota were in rare form "Boobies Boobies!" From there we hit JC'S HOUSE OF ROCK to catch my old pal Dawson's new band SEASONS AFTER and a band I'd seen open for Jani Lane called TAINTED....both bands were killer......we didn't stay for the final two bands as it had already been a long day!

Back to the motel!!! P.S. Take extra pillows next time.......URGH!

Saturday morning we got up and hit the road to Eureka to pick the rest of my crap up from Black's!! Good to see my bro again, sorry we missed ya Sammi!! Back to Wichita, we swung by Jenn & Jace's......Jace was working (as usual) so we hung w/ Jenn and Magoo!! We than decided to finish up our last bit of shopping before hitting The Roadhouse Blues (my fav bar ever that as of today will be closed down **Wipes Tears**) We hit Burger King en route to the venue and in the midst of grubbing on some fries I was graced by a crucifix fry......I was waiting for the lightning or to just combust, didn't happen so it must not have been that big of a sign as I thought!!

We hit The Roadhouse for another gathering of THE LOVE VIBE TRIBE aka An Evening In Concert w/ Anthony Gomes!! This was to be Jay's first LVT/AG show.....made all the more special in the fact that Anthony had agreed to do a photo shoot with Jay for her soon-to-be-opened art/photography studio entitled HIPPIE VISIONS!! Anthony had also agreed to subject himself to one of my interviews and like always I had a serious case of brainfreeze till about 2am on Saturday than two pages of questions emerged when I should been sleeping!!

This was to be my first AG show without my 'soul brother' Biscuit so I was a tad leary of the 'new guy'.....lemme tell ya, not only is David Karns (the new guy) an amazing musician but he is just a great of a human!! Anthony also had a new drummer since I saw him last. Peter Lang definitely earned his title as 'The Commander'......what a freakin madman on the drums!! Todd Hamric aka 'Church' was in fine form as usual!! For only playing together less than a month or so, these cats had some undeniable chemistry and it was by-far the best AG show I've ever seen.

Afterwards, we got in contact w/ Anthony ref photo shoot and interview......Jay was able to get some shots of the band post show but due to massive crowd we decided to stop only after Anthony assured us that when they returned in December that they'd get a proper shoot done.....Jay also got some shots of AG Live, we are awaiting development of those but knowing Jay's talents, they should be killer as usual!! In order for Anthony to not have to be up til 5am (it was 230 am at this point) I told him I'd just email him the interview questions since he was due to leave for Las Vegas later that day!! Jay and I got our pix snapped w/ Anthony and the guys, Anthony, Peter, David and Church signed my dobro and we were off......I found out Monday that that Saturday's show would be the last time I saw Church w/ AG as he was stepping down in December to pursue schooling and other avenues!! BEST OF LUCK CHURCH, THANX FOR ALL THE MEMORIES AND LAUGHS!

We left the Roadhouse in search of a QuikTrip and was pulled over by one of Park City's finest! I care not to get into this as it just pisses me off but rest assured that asshole's supervisor was called to the QT and a complaint was filed......idiots like him shouldn't be given badges nor guns!! We made the trek back to my bro's house for some zzzzzzzzz.....than back to Dodge City to pick up Jay's Mom for the trek back to Ashland.

Back at Ashland, Jay gave her son and daughter/grandbabies all the stuff we bought for them in Wichita than she had to leave for work.....she had to have felt like crap!!

I met with Comanche County reference dispatching for them, sounds like it is a-go!! Hope so!! Last night, Jay and I went out and took some pix of different scenery.........some scenery better than others!! I thoroughly enjoy every moment with Jay as we have similar interests in music, both enjoy photography and other artfull endeavours......rarely does 10 minutes pass with her that we are not laughing, that is such a great feeling!!

My Dad recently retired from Law Enforcement and is now residing in Mountain Home, AR. at his Dad's palace overlooking Bull Shoals Lake. He gave me a buzz Friday night to let me know he was all moved, to get the latest on Mookie, discuss other family matters and to tell me he had gotten married to his girlfriend Dorothy in Las Vegas @ a drive thru chapel hosted by Elvis himself. I am soooooo happy for him, I am glad he has found someone to grow old with and to keep his onry old butt in line!! Now I know some people are gonna say "Now Justin, how can you be happy for him being that it is not your Mom he is married to?" Well, for one he will ALWAYS be married to my Mom in my mind cause they were married when she passed away on April 10, 2005. but beyond that, he is 60 years young and I am happy he found someone, who wants to be lonely.....I know if the tables were reversed and it was my Dad who passed away, my Mom wouldn't want to be alone nor did she want my Dad to be alone after she passed. I have yet to meet Dorothy, I have spoken with her on the phone multiple times and she seems like a sweet gal......so who am I to piss n' moan......are they happy? YES, SO THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS & I WISH EM THE BEST!! He stayed with my Mom through the hell us kids put him through than through the absolute nightmare that was the last 9 years of my Mom's life due to her illnesses. I know wherever she is at, she is happy for him and wishes him nothing but the best....and the occasional case of impotence but Hey! That's my Mom for ya!!

Till next time.........

Cheers~

Howdy Doody Folks!!  I am writing to tell ya of one of the greatest experiences to ever happen in my 29 years on this big blue marble....it occurred yesterday, July 12th, 2007 in Wichita, Kansas & was courtesy of Jani Lane & The Formerly Of's.....For those who aren't aware of who Jani Lane is....Jani Lane WAS the lead singer and main songwriter for multi-platinum recording artists WARRANT and had such hits as "Heaven", "Cherry Pie", "I Saw Red", and my all-time favorite "Uncle Tom's Cabin"!!

He left WARRANT in 2004 to pursue a solo career, releasing his debut solo album "Back Down To One" the previous year!!

Anywho, Jani and his amazing band, "The Formerly Of's....hit Wichita with a fury!!  His band consists of (left to right) bassist Chad MacDonald, Keyboardist Shawn Zavodney, Jani Lane, former Warrant drummer (2000-2003) Mike "The Sack" Fasano,  and 17 year old guitar phenom Dario Lorina!!

Jani was kind enough to grant me a pre-show interview....anyways, not to get ahead of myself!  So, I arrived at JC's House of Rock in Wichita @ 3:30pm per Jani's invitation to watch the band soundcheck!!  The band went through WARRANT classics such as "32 Pennies", "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and "Heaven"!!  After a few post-soundcheck adjustments to equipment, I joined Jani in the bar for our interview!!  I was nervous as hell being it was my 1st "LIVE" interview and the fact that Jani's ALWAYS been a hero of mine since my sister and her ex-husband turned me onto them in 1989!!  Thanx to my pal Josh for videotaping the interview!!

I'd never had the pleasure of meeting Jani and I'd seen WARRANT numerous times over the years.....I'd met most current and former members of the band but never the man responsibile for their success!!  Jani was very honest, candid, humerous and all-to forthcoming during the interview!!  I am in the process of transcribing it for public consumption, it should be available at www.sleazeroxx.com within the coming weeks!!

Post-interview we led Jani and band to Guitar Center per their request!!  Josh and I left to grab a bite to eat, than headed back to the venue.  While waiting at the venue we had the pleasure of watching the Navy Blue Angels practicing for this weekend air show in Wichita, since McConnell AFB is just south of the club!  Approx 30 minutes later Jani and band assistant Bob C. arrived, we made our way back into the club where at Jani's request I set up the merchandise booth where I was to sell the bands wears before, during and after the show!!

Local band TAINTED www.myspace.com/taintedks opened the show with a variety of cover tunes (Poison, Dokken, Stone Temple Pilots, and Alice In Chains to name a few) and original tunes, my favorite being "Love & Crazy".  After their set, I helped Bob C. prepare for the impending ass-kicking known as Jani Lane & The Formerly Of's LIVE!

The band is amazingly tight, Jani is on top of his vocal and frontman game like I had never seen before, and his guitarist, 17 year old guitar phenom, Dario Lorina, is every bit (...and than some!!) the guitar stud that Richie Kotzen, Jason Becker, Zakk Wylde, and George Lynch were proclaimed to be at that age......He will be a force to reckon with in the coming years, MARK MY WORDS!  Below is the set list:

01.  Train Train (Blackfoot Cover)

02.  Down Boys

03.  D.R.F.S.R.

04.  Machine Gun

05.  32 Pennies

06.  Heaven

07.  I Saw Red

08.  Hole In My Wall

09.  So Damn Pretty (Should Be Against The Law)

10.  Dario's Solo

11.  Mr. Rainmaker

12.  Uncle Tom's Cabin (complete with the only 'Spinal Tap' moment of the evening when jani busted a string during the intro, only to borrow Dario's axe than pass it back when the tune kicked into overdrive!!)

13.  Cherry Pie

14.  Big Talk

The band took a short break, returning to take pics with the fans and sign autographs at the merch table!!  Thanks to Bob, Jani and the band for truely making me feel like one of the "Down Boys" that entire evening!!  See ya down the road.................

The band tearin' it up LIVE!!

Me and the band minus Chad who disappeared while waiting for Mike, go figure!

Chad, me and my homie Bob C. (Bob is da man, glad I could assist ya last nite, see ya soon bro!

Some SWAG courtesy of Jani Lane & The Formerly Of's!!!!!

Cheers~

Power To The Music

My Exclusive Interview with John Corabi

By Justin Crafton

For those out there in cyber land who are newer fans of you, please enlighten them on the life and career of John Corabi.

A) I've been playing music professionally for about 20 years. I fronted the band "The Scream" and joined Motley Crue in 1992. I was with Motley until late 96-early 97, and then started a band called
Union, with former Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick. We did three albums ( Union S/T, The Blue Room, Live in the Galaxy ) and stopped heavy touring in 2001. Since then I have been playing rythym guitar for Ratt, and now I'm in the process of writing and recording my solo record...

Who would you like to collaborate or write songs with for your debut solo album?

A) I'd like to have Jerry Cantrell, Billy Duffy, and Billy Gibbons work and play on the record. Right now I'm writing with Bruce Kulick, and Fred Coury, and anyone else who will listen!!!

Any chance of a The Scream DVD retrospective coming out with promo clips, live stuff, etc?

A) No...I don't think theres any footage around of the Scream..If there is, I'd like to see it!!!

Would you be opposed to Motley Crue releasing the infamous Personality ..9 sessions on the 3rd installment of their box set? Do you expect that they will ever do such a thing or are they too afraid theyd have to admit more of your role into Generation Swine?

A) No I'm not opposed to Motley doing anything...I do plan on going back and listening to some of the demo tapes I have though, and trying to finish some of the songs I liked!!!

Any unreleased UNION material or live shows in the can that could come out at a later date or any chance of a new UNION record down the line when schedules permit?

A) Not that I know about...???

Any truth to the rumor that before they hired Sebastian Bach that you were up for the singer position in Skid Row? Did you ever consider hooking up with them afterward Sebastian was fired?

A) Snake had sent me some demos to check out, but I was in a band at the time, and I felt responsible for the other guys..You see, I talked them into moving to California from Philadelphia, so I declined...not that the offer was made, cause I never really auditioned...

Any memories or stories youd care to share about your friends Dave Williams of Drowning Pool or Dimebag Darrell?

A) Both guys were true human beings!!! The coolest Mother Fuckers EVER!!! I knew Dave a little better, and I loved that kid. Dime was always truely cool to me, and he was loved as well...Fucking GENIUS on a guitar!!!

If you could form a group with any living musicians, who would you choose and for what?

A) Jimmy Page;Guitar.....He is the "Master of Mood"
Tony Iommi;Guitar.....The Riff God!!!!
Glenn Hughes; Bass and Vocals....The guy has more soul then he knows what to do with
Paul Mc Cartney; Keys and vocals...I don't think I need to explain that one!!!!
Tommy Lee; Drums and vocals....He's so talented it makes me sick!!!
Back-up singers; Paul Rodgers, Chris Robinson, Chris Cornell, Steven Tyler
And me on Lead Vocals and "MASTURBATING" cause I'd have the greatest band EVER!!!!!

What bands or albums in the last few years have floored you as a songwriter or musician?

A) I like alot of different stuff...I don't want to sound wierd, but nothing has been really "groundbreaking"!!! I think everything has been done before, its just how an artist puts their "stamp" on the music...

Any possibility of you lending your singing talents to your son Ians band FATAL EMBRACE on their cd or Ian lending his drumming skills to your debut solo album?

A) I don't think me singing on their stuff would be suitable for the stuff they do, but I have full intentions of having Ian play on my stuff. He's a great kid, and in my opinion, for being self-taught on drums, he's kicking ass!!! I've let Eric Singer, and Tommy, and Fred Coury hear his shit, and they are blown away at how good Ian has gotten!!! I sound like a Dad now...sorry !!!

Of the following bands that you recorded with, which song off of each album listed is your favorite or would you like to be most remembered for:

*The Scream:Let It Scream ...."Father, Mother, Son"
*Motley Crue...."Uncle Jack"
*
Union:s/t ...."Love I Don't Need It Anymore"
*
Union:The Blue Room....."Shine"
*Twenty 4 Seven: Destination Anywhere ..."No Matter What"..recorded before Def Leppard I might add!!!

Alright, time for what I like to call In A Perfect World.Your debut solo album has went ..1 and everyone knows the name JOHN CORABI as they should, you have been given the chance to put together CrabFest, a tour featuring you headlining and four {4} other bandswho would be in The John Corabi Band and who would be the four {4} support acts?

The imaginary JCBand would include...
Jeff Blando on guitar
Billy Duffy on guitar
Pete from Skrape on bass
And Ian on drums of course!!!
The opening acts would be...Audioslave, Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, and Dark New Day....I think that would be a cool eclectic line-up

Secondly, In A Perfect World, due to your ..1 record, the record company wants you do a cover album to give your new fans a taste of your influences, what song would you do by each of the following bands/artists:

*Aerosmith..."Combination"
*Creedence Clearwater Revival...."Fortunate Son"
*Led Zeppelin...."Misty Mountain Hop"
*Free ..."Muddy Waters"
*Bad Company...."Burning Sky"
*Queen..."Love Of My Life"

This was an absolute dream come true!!  To be able to interview one of my heroes is a feeling I can't describe!!  I've admired John since he was in "The Scream", up through his Motley Crue daze, onto UNION, who I was able to see several times and finally meet John himself, and thru his stints w/ Twenty 4 Seven, Ratt, ESP, as well as others!  Whenever anything comes out that John lends his talents to, I always run out and BUY it, hence my Corabi CD collection numbering over 50!!  He is truely a gentleman to meet and an extremely underappreciated & amazing musician in every sense of the word!!  I can't wait until the rest of the world pulls there heads out of their asses and realizes such!!  If in doubt of his amazing songwriting ability, watch the video below!!  Thanks John for making one of my dreams come true!!~~~~Justin

Howdy damn doody my homies!!  Just thought I'd re-try my little blogy-blog that I did last night but MySpace decided to shut down for maintenance when I posted it!!

Life has been pretty good, knock on wood!  John & I were able to partake in the first installment of "Ink & Drink 2006" on January 10th.....but this time we had Mandy along to make sure we got out of hand!!!  What a demented lil' soul she is & that is why we keep her around!!  Our excursion almost got derailed the night before when I forgot how to walk and blew out my knee along with the ever lovely kneecap dislocation.....being the stubborn asshole I am, I re-set the kneecap myself and hobbled to my car and sped home!!  After washing down some Ibuprofen w/ Budweiser & Rum, Dr. Momma Jaylene came over with some even more powerful pills and a brace!!  Tuesday morning came early but it was well worth it, I was in hella pain but the constant ribbing from John & Mandy made a 2 1/2 hour trip seem like 5 minutes!!  We did stop off to take a picture of our favorite sign in Kansas

We met Meghan for lunch and than John & I got our new tattoos @ Fantasy Graphics Tattoos in Hays, check them out @  http://www.fantasygraphicstattoos.com  Art & Lee are simply amazing!

Off To WaKeeney to our "suite" @ Stupid 8 aka Super 8!  What a fucking joke, I've taken shits bigger than this "suite"!  Danielle aka Legz, Bob-o, and SaraBeara stopped by for a visit!!  Danielle and I went hot tubbing which felt great on my knee!

< BR>

Later we hit Fastlane bowl for the Drink portion of our trip and was joined by Danielle, Bob-o, Kassy, Chris, and other friends!

On Wednesday we back to Hays for lunch than to Dodge City to see Hostel which sucks!!  This week Mandy and I went back to Hays for her first tattoo and for yet another one for me!!  I also went to the doctor and discovered both my meniscus and MCL are shot so I am looking at surgery within' the coming weeks!

KICKASS!  That word sums up my week so far, and it is only gonna get better!  As stated in my last blog, my bro Jason Black had tracked me down after about 5 years!!  We had a rift that got out of hand and should have never happened but it is in the past, from this point on it is just forward momentum!  Saturday night, my longtime friend Cliff came up from Dallas, I hadn't seen him in 4 years for the simple fact he lived in Dallas but being he is moving back to Wichita, I will thankfully see a lot more of him and his wife Heather and their 3 beautiful kids!

So, with vacation looming from work, I decided to scrap any other plans and head some 225 miles to where Jason lives in Eureka, Ks. to re-connect with my bro!  I was wigging-out something fierce as it was gonna be a surprise, only his kick-ass girlfirend Sammi knew anything about it!!  I had talked w/ Meghan, John, and Darren about in on my end, I was scared that my trip would be pointless....fucking anxiety issues!!  I left Tuesday am and endured 3 sandstorms and had to take two ditch dives to avoid jack-knifing semi's due to 50 mph winds that had uprooted ahuge tree at my place earlier!  I got here a few hours before Jason got home from work!  I caught up with Sammi since we'd only talked via phone & chat!  @ 3pm or so Jason came home and was shocked, but it was all hugs n' smiles!!  We went to dinner @ Pizza Hut, downed a few beers, bullshitted a bit!  Than off to our favorite haunt, the liquor store!!  @ said Liquor Store we talked about it for 5 minutes and decided, there isn't any point, fuck it, all is cool!  I was so relieved!!  On with the show........

Jason's sister Sarah came home around 8pm and we caught up as we too were close years back, I had last seen Sarah in 2004 when she lived in Missouri and I went to Springfield to visit Josh. We {Jason, Sammi, and I} stayed up till 4am drinking and attempting to drunk dial people!!  It was all videotaped for future bribs and laughs!!  Jason's daughter Megan, even came up to me before bed and asked for a hug!!  Awwwwww!

On Wednesday, when I hoped into the shower, Megan asked Sammi if I was her uncle, she seems to remember me even though the last time I saw her she was maybe 8 months old but she doesn't warm up to people but she is always coming up to me for hugs! Sarah's son Xander keeps stealing my slippers {either pair of Donkey from Shrek or my Cartman's}, he is a cutie!  Sammi, Megan, and I headed to El Dorado to meet up with my sister Micah, I hadn't seen Micah in 8 years, it was great to see her....now I just gotta get our sister Shannon's ass down her from Montana!!  We went shopping and out to lunch, took some pics, and hung out!

It has been an amazing week, probably one of the greatest I've ever had!!!  These were all missing pieces of my life that are now back in place and will never be removed as they once were due to bullshit childish jealousy!!  If I ever "settle down" again, the other person will never affect my life the way the ex did, which was negative from the word go, I was just too stupid to see it!

I could never imagine, after the last week I have had and how happy I have been, losing these people who have re-entered my life, during the years we were apart, I thought of them often but until 2004 wasn't allowed to be around them.....NEVER AGAIN!!  Being I have sooooo little family, these people ARE my family......I don't think I could face a day without having them in my life as well as my other family.....John, Meghan, uNKLEDUNk, Buzzy, Darren & Amy, Josh, Chris, Jessi, Danielle, Laure @ LA, Jaime @ SF, Kristie @ OC, Linda, Jaylene, Timmy, Donna and Margie!!  I AM THE LUCKIEST MAN ALIVE!

CHEERS,

JUSTIN

What a crazy fucking week {maybe week and a half!} to say the least!!  Last Wednesday, 11.02.05, all of us here at the CopShop finally had enough of our egomaniacal Sheriff and asked for his resignation @ the public Commissioners meeting.....anyone who knows me knows how much I dislike the asshole, well, it took a while but everyone else finally had enough of that tittybaby's temper-tantrums, rantings, threats, and witch-hunts {no pun intended considering I'm Wiccan! }  Anywho, well, being he isn't the brightest bulb, he is still in power....I guess 8 people telling him he sucks and they can't stand him to his face and making an ass out of him by exposing his behavior and outright lies in front of the Commissioners {not to mention, it will be published in the paper if not more than one paper!} didn't give him a clue because he refuses to step-down!  I have never and I mean NEVER worked anywhere that had the chemistry that us 8 have, and it pisses Hitler {our pet name for him!}off to no end.....he loathes it!  It really is like a family between John, Darren, Tim, Donna, margie, linda, Jaylene, and I....one problem, the head of our family is the worlds stupidest prick!  So, several of the familia are quitting, others are job hunting elsewhere, and some of us have no choice but to stick it out!!  He doesn't understand what he does affects upwards of 20 people including us eight, because with the exception of me, all of us have kids, families, or significant others!!

Than later that week, I about shat myself when I opened my MySpace messages to find a message from a long-lost friend of mine!  About 4 years ago, we had a falling out which has always bothered me, it was stupid and should have never happened but as they say, SHIT HAPPENS!  I had tried to find him previously to no avail.....Jason and I were as close as brothers which is unusual for me as I hate most guys!!  Well, we patched shit up, I understand, things will probably never be the same as the were before but it doesn't suck to know that I can call him up whenever or vice versa!  He seems to be doing pretty good, has a kewl lil' gal named Samantha by his side....I've enjoying emailing with her, seems like a sweet soul....of source she'd have to be to put up with Black's ass

On sunday, I went to Protection to have dinner with his family, excellent steak dinner courtesy of Darren & his wife Amy....thanx again!  Kinda nice to have a home cooked meal since I can't or won't cook!  Tuesday, Amy and I went to Dodge City for lunch, errands, and shopping.....kinda weird to get along with a friends wife since most hate my guts!!  Than last night, I watched Darren & Amy's kids while they were at work......I was wore out, them boys of theirs are nuts!!  But in a good way!  We watched "SpongeBob Squarepants:The Movie"....I have never wanted a hit of acid so bad as I did while watching that movie!!

Well, since I am at work, I must go check on the kiddies, just thought I'd fill ya in on all the happenings!!  Oh, P.S. I got my copy of THE DEVILS REJECTS on dvd.....you must check it out, a two disc set that fucking kicks mondo ass!

Till next time.....here's to honor.....jump on her & stay on her!!

Cheers,

Justin

HOW TO SING THE BLUES – A PRIMER

1. Most Blues begin with: "Woke up this mornin’...."

2. "I got a good woman" is a bad way to begin the Blues, unless you stick something nasty in the next line like, "I got a good woman, with the meanest face in town."

3. The Blues is simple. After you get the first line right, repeat it. Then find something that rhymes... sort of:
"Got a good woman with the meanest face in town.
Yes, I got a good woman with the meanest face in town.
Got teeth like Margaret Thatcher,
and she weigh 500 pound."

4. The Blues is not about choice: You stuck in a ditch, you stuck in a ditch… ain't no way out.

5. Blues cars: Chevys, Fords, Cadillacs and broken-down trucks.
Blues don't travel in Volvos, BMWs, or Sport Utility Vehicles.
Most Blues transportation is a Greyhound bus or a southbound train.
Jet aircraft and state-sponsored motor pools arenn't even in the running.
Walkin' plays a major part in the blues.
So does fixin' to die.

6. Teenagers can't sing the Blues. They ain't fixin' to die yet.
Adults sing the Blues.
In Blues, "adult" means “old enough to get the chair if you shoot a man in Memphis”.

7. Blues can take place in New York City but not in Hawaii or any place in Canada.
Hard times in Minneapolis or Seattle is probably just clinical depression.
Chicago, St. Louis, and Kansas City are still the best places to have the Blues.
You cannot have the blues in any place that don't get no rain.

8. A man with male pattern baldness is not the blues.
A woman with male pattern baldness is.
Breaking your leg 'cause you were skiing is not the blues.
Breaking your leg 'cause an alligator be chompin’ on it is.

9. You can't have the Blues in an office or a shopping mall. The lighting is wrong.
Go outside to the parking lot or sit by the dumpster.

10. Good places for the Blues:
a. highway
b. jailhouse
c. empty bed
d. bottom of a whisky glass

Bad places for the Blues:
a. Nordstrom's
b. gallery openings
c. Ivy League institutions
d. golf courses

11. No one will believe it's the Blues if you wear a suit, 'less you happen to be an old ethnic person, and you slept in it.

12. Do you have the right to sing the Blues?

Yes, if:
a. you older than dirt
b. you blind
c. you shot a man in Memphis
d. you can't be satisfied

No, if:
a. you have all your teeth
b. you were once blind but now can see
c. the man in Memphis lived
d. you have a 401K or trust fund

13. Blues is not a matter of color. It's a matter of bad luck.
Tiger Woods cannot sing the Blues. Sonny Liston could.
Ugly white people also have a leg up on the blues.

14. If you ask for water and your darlin' give you gasoline, it's the Blues.
Other acceptable Blues beverages are:
a. cheap wine
b. whiskey or bourbon
c. muddy water
d. nasty black coffee

The following are NOT Blues beverages:
a. Perrier
b. Chardonnay
c. Snapple
d. Slim Fast

15. If death occurs in a cheap motel or a shotgun shack, it's a Blues death.
Stabbed in the back by a jealous lover is another Blues way to die.
So are the electric chair, substance abuse and dying lonely on a broken-down cot.
You can't have a Blues death if you die during a tennis match or while getting liposuction.

16. Some Blues names for women:
a. Sadie
b. Big Mama
c. Bessie
d. Fat River Dumpling

17. Some Blues names for men:
a. Joe
b. Willie
c. Little Willie
d. Big Willie

18. Persons with names like Michelle, Amber, Jennifer, Debbie, and Heather can't sing the Blues no matter how many men they shoot in Memphis.

19. Make your own Blues name Starter Kit:
a. name of physical infirmity (Blind, Cripple, Lame, etc.)
b. first name (see above) plus name of fruit (Lemon, Lime, Kiwi, etc.)
c. last name of President (Jefferson, Johnson, Fillmore, etc.)

Examples: Blind Lime Jefferson, Jakeleg Lemon Johnson, Cripple Kiwi Fillmore.

20. I don't care how tragic your life; if you own a computer, you cannot sing the Blues.
