Hi, everyone.

We've had such a tremendous response to the open call that we need to taper down the entries. For this reason, the entry form link has been removed from this profile, and will be available at stupidcreatures.com until the due date for all entries.

Get your form, kids. If you have questions or problems understanding the form, LET US KNOW.

To answer one very common question, Yes, we do ask that you mail your work with your entry form, not separately.

To answer another one: No, the entry form is not an application. We don't need to receive it before you are allowed to enter.

The entry form is simply a record keeping implement.

Back to the point.. The open call is closed. You have to email us pics of your work if you want us to consider you for the show. March 14 is the last day we will accept shipments for this show.

It's gonna be so flippin' great.

Thanks to all of you who have already made this show an immense success.

Anybody wanting banners or promotional images and the like for your own blogs, websites and/or news pages, just holla.

Hi, participants..

We've got quite a load of participants by now and we're very excited about the way the show's going to look.

I'm bugging my doctor friends for any medical equipment they might be able to hook us up with as props for the show. So far a friend of mine who runs a vintage shop has been the only one to come through for us. They're gonna make a great addition. We'll put a few on the food table.

Gotta make postcards now.
Gotta get press releases pressed and released.
Gotta get my entries designed and made.
Gotta work on some displays and handmade props.

As for you guys, is there anything you need? Is there anything you're unclear on? Any links or downloads not working properly? Please ask.

There is an entry form that I can email you when you're ready. I've tried to post it to the website but alas, it got wierd.

Hi, everyone. I encourage all of you committed participants to subscribe to this blog. Here are some things you gotta know:

1. We need you to drop a line to medex@stupidcreatures.com so we can start a mailing list about the show for the definite participants. You can just send a line that says "yes I'm in" or something to that effect.. Feel free to divulge your deepest darkest if you so wish. We are, of course, doctors. Ha.

2. We want to update this profile to include a list of definite participants. Participants are encouraged to provide us with URLs to your website, online shop, flickr site, myspace or wherever you might best be found online so your listing can be linked up with your site.

2.5. On the subject of links, John's reworking the ancient, dusty links page on www.stupidcreatures.com. If you want to be linked, email his flat caucasian arse and say "link me," or thereabouts. Include a basic category for your link: are you a gallery, a design firm, an individual artist (specify genre), a group.. you know.

3. The dates of the show have changed. You've now got a bit more time to sicken the world with your medical misfires. We're waiting on PUSH (the venue) to etch the dates in stone, but the show will open in the middle of March, and end the middle of April (that's tax time, everyone).

4. As the opening day is still a tiny bit nebulous, the entry form with all the terms has, of course, not been posted. This is a good thing. We'll post the entry form's availability as soon as it's ready.

That's it for now..

Hello, plush designers. You're invited to submit work to a show that John and Ian of Stupid Creatures will be curating in Asheville, NC. The host for the show will be the well known art venue and skate shop PUSH in downtown Asheville.

Please visit the profiles of the hosts, Ian and John.

Please feel free to add the show's profile to your friends list and help spread the word.

The theme is Medical Experiments. Plush toy artists are encouraged to ponder this theme and plushify what they come up with.

Original art is a must. But you can perform a medical experiment on an existing toy, as long as it's apparent that it's your dreadful modifications to the toy is your art, and not the toy itself.

The deadline for submissions is Valentine's Day, 2007. Terms and an entry form will be available for download on the stupidcreatures.com links page as soon as possible.

Any questions can and will be answered by Ian and/or John at the email medex@stupidcreatures.com.

That's it for now. Do help spread the word, sil vous plait, by reposting this blog or forwarding the show's profile to people you think are a good fit for the show.

Thanks a ton!

John
