Current mood: busy
Well.. for various reasons I am not going to be updating my Myspace profile any longer, nor doing any more blogs here. I will be over at Facebook and at my new blog at Blogger. Its just too much effort to be everywhere and I like their interfaces a whole lot more. I'll still check in on here to see what everyone is doing.
So from now on check out my new blog at chrisonjian.blogspot.com I plan on being pretty active on it.. at least I PLAN on it... we'll see...
If your not on Facebook now you should head over there.. its better.. :)

One last thing... To all my friends out there who wished me a happy B-day like two weeks ago.. THANK YOU!!!!
I find it amusing that as the years go on the number of people who send me birthday wishes in person, or on the phone, goes down.. with more and more people sending me text messages, e-mails, electronic cards, myspace messages, myspace comments, and so on and so on...
So in turn.. here is my electronic THANK YOU to everyone.. you all Rok.

I usually mean to write more on here.. but then I think "who is really reading this shit anyway?"... I guess I figure, in my own little world, that everyone really cares about what is going on with my life... who knows.. I guess I'll continue to say something for those that are morbidly curious... When the fuck is Myspace going to add a spell check to their blog entry form? I have THE WORST spelling in the whole world... The only reason why every other word isn't misspelled is because I copy and paste into Word so I can use its spell checker.. Anyway... So some stuff.. well.. one thing that I wanted to write for a while (but never got around to it) was about my Dad.. some of my friends on here know my parents so I guess some of you care.. My Dad recently had open heart surgery. Ok before you freak out and are like "oh my god is he ok??".. yes he is ok.. Short story is: went in for a routine test.. found a issue.. did a heart cath.. found blockages... (we were thinking they would but we also thought they would just need to do angio or something).. Dr. said they needed to do a bypass... so after a couple of days they did the surgery... and less then a week later he was home... its been a couple of weeks now and he is doing great... in fact.. they expect that he will be in better condition then he was before the surgery.. So that was some crazy shit that turned out ok... One thing I will say right now is that St. Barnabas is the best hospital around.. not only was my daughter born there.. but they saved my dad's life.. so they Rok. BTW "Rok" is my cutesy little way of saying something or someone is cool or great or etc... yes i know there is no 'c' there.. i did that on purpose.. I am trying to start a thing here... leave me alone to my lunacy please.. Ok.. so other stuff... umm.. went on a short vacation with the wife/kid to PA.. very relaxing and fun. I soooo would love to live up there (northern pocono area) but there is NOTHING to do other then boat, fish, or ski.. of which I do two... but still.. there is only so much boating and fishing I can do.. especially since at the moment I am without boat (and regretting every second on the lake that I sold my jetski).. and I obviously can't fish because this time my 3 year old daughter caught more fish then I did... anyway.. not an issue since as of this moment we did not win the lottery yet or get contacted by some law office regarding a rich long lost Uncle's will.. Once that happens we will have the $$ to buy a vacation home up there. Other things.. well.. I am off to grad school again.. yeah I know.. I made such a big deal about being DONE and here I am going back. The truth of it is that on the day of my graduation I already started thinking about what to do next. I really ever so badly want to go back to NJIT to do a PhD but thats not in the cards. I am 100% sure I can do the work but I am also 100% sure I can't fit that kind of effort in with working, and my family. So instead I am going back to earn another M.S. degree in a related and complementary area (Engineering Management)... instead of going to NJIT I am doing it at Stevens. I already took a few classes which will count toward it.. and they are offering an off-site program at my building at work.. so its easy as pie.. well maybe not that easy.. but at least I don't have to go anywhere or pay for parking passes..etc... and I will be taking classes with people that I work with.. not idiots.. so all should be good.. One day though i do plan on attempting to earn a PhD.. just not right now.
Anyway... I think that about does it.. have to get back to working in photoshop.. have a ton of pics from PA to retouch for my portfolio (and my wife's myspace/facebook page since they are mostly of her)... This blog is brought to you by Carl Jr.

Current mood: fascinated
I just noticed that the time was 11:11pm and 11 seconds... for some reason that gave me an inspiration to write something.
Today I had a really really good steak.. went to this new steakhouse near where I work called Rare. My parents, in-laws, brother in-laws, and obvioulsy the wife/daughter, went there to celebrate my graduation. Was a very good time and I am still stuffed. A bit pricey ($32 for a 12oz steak) but worth every penny. I did not go for the $100 Kobe steak but I may on a future visit.. I do so appreciate tasty cow.
Was a busy weekend but got allot of things done that I needed to do. I just got in a huge photo order so I gotta get cracking on that this week.. fun fun fun.. I like Money.
Had a talk with my boy Ed today. We will be recording the first few tracks of the new Transient album in the next few weeks. At least he will be putting the drums down with my bass to follow at some point. Should be cool stuff when we are all done with it.. look forward to hearing the finished product in the future.. Gotta start stretching out my fingers a bit.
I got a Nintendo Wii the other day. Spent some of my gift money on that. I am now re-addicted to MarioKart... I say "re-addicted" because in college I was very addicted to that game on the Super Nintendo. I can't count how many hours I spent playing that game in the dorms against my friend's Rich and Omar. Its too bad that I don't talk to either of them anymore.. well at least in Rich's case (who litteraly dropped off the face of the earth a couple of years ago).. I spoke with Omar a few months ago.. I think it woudl be cool to play against them again. I guess I will have to do with getting my ass kicked by strangers on MarioKart WFC on the internet.
Went to PA for work last week. Spent the day 15 miles north of Phili. Had a very enjoyable ride home on the turnpike/parkway with the top down. After a 90 minute drive I was nearly deaf from the wind noise. Lovely.
Things are going good.. very happy at the moment with life in general. Not like I have ever really been un-happy with my life... stressed yes... but never really un-happy. I tend to avoid situations that cause me to be un-happy, or people that do the same. The warm weather kicks ass...
Anywho.. I have a nice cold can of Cherry Coke upstairs waiting for me.. Time to go drain it and take pleasure in all that is good and great about soda! :)

Yup I'm done! I got my final grade back on my project a few days ago... well within passing. Today was the graduation ceremony. It was held at The Rock in Newark. Very nice place. Now I just have to wait for the degree to be mailed to me later this month.
So what now? Back to the same old job on Monday. At least now I won't have school hanging over my head all the time as something to do or worry about. Of course, that is until I go back... which I think is an inevitability at this point. For what? I don't know.. need some time to think and consider options.
For now.. its time to concentrate on Creative Designs Photography, and some other things that have not had my full attention for a long while.
Anyway.. thats all for now...

About 20 minutes ago I submitted to my advisor the final version of my masters project report... I've been working on this thing since the begining of the year.. This could be the very last bit of work I ever have to do for school... wow.. what a thought.. after 22.5 years of classes from K to Grad School... Graduation is in May.. fun fun fun.
Its been a while since I wrote anything up here.. I have wanted to.. just never had the motivation to do it....
The year has been good so far.. busy... but good...
Started the new business in January.. Creative Designs Photography, LLC... been a bit busy to actualy promote it but hopefully that will change now that school is nearly OVER.. now this should keep the wife and I busy for a bit..
Last night I went to my friend Mike's wedding. Saw a whole bunch of old friends from college and this little company I used to work for... Was a nice affair.. probably the last wedding I go to for a long while (unless certain friends get off their ass and either find someone or propose to the person they have now! ).. so a good time was had by all..
Anyway... whatever.. today is a lazy Sunday... Parents are in CA visiting family. I should throw a party at their house for old-time-sake.

Time for an update to Chris's Life, Universe, and everything that matters....
So its fall... can't believe how quick this year has gone so far. School started a month ago.. my last full semester of classes.. I am in my final elective at NJIT and I WAS enrolled in Stevens for my final Management class.. BUT.. after one night I decided to drop it.. There is no way I am writing some 50 page paper and doing all this other crap that the guy wanted.. just soooooo not worth it.. so that is off the list. The NJIT one is interesting.. taught by the same guy I had for my first class there three years ago. I have to do yet another class project.. I thought I lucked out by picking the most American looking guy in the room as my partner.. but the guy hasn't done shit yet. We will see what happens. But all in all its a reasonably decent semester so far. After this one I just have to finish a masters project and I am DONE.. Do Not Pass Go.. Go Directly to Masters Degree..
Work has been insane.. lots of overtime the last two weeks.. but that is better then looking for work I guess...
Photography season is kicking into high gear for the holidays. All of my available weekends are currently booked up for October.. I also picked up some new gear over the last few weeks.. a new camera.. the Canon 40D which is just totally rocking (nothing like a pro level DSLR...)... A new awesome quality lens.. the Canon 24-70 F2.8L (I am sure that means nothing to all of you out there.. lets just say it also Rocks.. )... also got some wireless triggers for my studio strobes.. makes things allot easier.. Finally.. I got some new set design items.. white plexiglass for "high key" photography.. and some other items.. So for the last few weeks I have been messing around to learn how to use my new stuff.. has been fun and I have definitely noticed an improvement in various parts of my work.. all good things...
The saga of the mice continues... For those interested (Tammy et al..) they dropped the bomb on me... they managed to get into the center piece of my microfiber theater room sectional couch... one built a nest and promptly DIED in there.. which made the whole thing STINK... so I had to have it sent out to a expert to clean out and re-stuff... Fucking Assholes! I have continued to catch several more mice in and out of the house.. four of them from the shed in the back yard.. two more from inside... so I am up to a total of 16 mice caught since spring... However.. I don't want to jinx myself.. but i have not seen any in the house in weeks now... I think we may have gotten to the end of them.. wish me luck..
Got the first couple of songs from Ed for the new Transient project... It has been a while since my fingers have had to move that fast.. [Ed.. if your reading this... CALL ME!].. its good stuff.. I can't wait to hear the completed stuff with vocals and everything..
Lets see.. what else is there to say.. oh yeah.. my parents kick ass... they bought me a new top of the line Weber grill a few weeks ago.. One from the Summit series which is the best one they sell... its awesome.. I have been buying these awesome steaks from Whole Foods and totally enjoying it.. Let me tell you.. I do enjoy cooking but I enjoy it so much more when it is using great quality tools...
Things are quiet at home.. well... Callie is talking and making all sorts of noise.. but there ain't no drama in my life.. which is a great thing I am very proud of.. I avoid it.. reject it.. and discourage the people close to me from getting into any.. life is just too short to deal with bullshit.. plus I am way too interesting of a person with way too many hobbies and interests that I really don't see the need to be involved with any drama... all that he said she said bullshit.. who cares?!? I have said a few times over the last few weeks that a few people I know have too much time on their hands.. they just need to start shit or get involved with stupid shit.. personally I think they should go do something good for everyone.. maybe pick up trash in Newark.. or entertain the sick in the hospitals.. whatever.. I am pretty happy with my drama-free life.. No arguments.. no issues... just enjoying what I got...
Anyway.. I think that covers it for now..

Current mood: angry
I fucking hate mice.. I never used to feel this way about them. In fact, as a little kid I just to love mice. I had little stuffed mice and I used to love watching movies that had mice in them. I had hamsters, gerbils, and as most of my friends know, the last few years I had a bunch of guinea pigs... not mice.. but in the rodent family.. cute little furry animals. At this point I would love to find a fish tank full of mice, douse them with gasoline, and light them on fire. Why do you ask? Well.. i have cleaned up more mouse shit in my house this summer then I care to count.. We have been over-run the last few months with them and its pissing me the fuck off... its not the first summer we had a mouse or two... but not like this. I have caught no less then 9 mice in the last two months alone. I use no-kill traps and i let them go in the field behind my company's parking lot. Before you think I am a nice guy.. I do that because there is a large population of feral cats back there... hey at least I gave them a fighting chance! :) So... I just got a shop-vac and cleaned out my entire garage... which was something I wanted to do anyway.. but I didn't plan on cleaning up that much mouse crap. I sealed up all the holes I thought they are getting in, added some ultrasonic pest repellants, and got a few more traps to keep in various parts of the house... if the fuckers come back I just know I'll get em... they just LOVE peanut butter.. The most frustrating thing is that just when I think I get rid of them.. they come back.. the other day.. cleaned up the place.. thought they were gone.. left the kitchen.. came back a hour later after I watched some TV.. and there is mouse shit on the counter!.. the little fucker was probably watching my TV from the kitchen.. had to throw out the rest of dinner which was sitting on the stove. Was my favorite too! Hamburger helper three cheese flavor.. mmmmmmmm… lots of high cholesterol goodness.. the mouse was probably sent by my Dr. to stop me from eating that shit… Soo... its war.... I think they are really coming from the shed in my yard.. so I'll be getting some nice tasty poison for them to eat in there.. mmmmmmmm... yummie green pellets of mouse killer.
My next step will be to get the meanest, toughest, tom-cat that I can find in the animal shelter. An outdoor cat that will happily kill all small animals he comes across... take their little bodies and set them up on pikes as a warning to all rodents who trespass. My wife is alergic so he will have to stay outside.. but if he does his job well I'll build him a little kittie house in the back yard and give him lots and lots of cat-nip.

I turned 32 today... Had a great day actually... My wife and I dropped the kid off at my parents house and then she was gracious enough to tolerate seeing the Transformers movie with me.... And then we went off to dinner at one of my favorite places Lee's Hawaiian Islander (I love Asian food..). Thanx to all my friends who have been e-mailing me, sending me text messages, calling, etc... Transformers was awesome.. one of the best big budget action movies I have seen in a long long time.. plus when I was a kid I was a HUGE fan.. I still have boxes upon boxes of the toys in my parents' attic. They did a good job making a movie that was true to the original series... I know.. I am a geek for liking Transformers.. so sue me.
Heading up to Owego for work again this week.. and when I get back I am going to the lake for the weekend with the family.. should be a good time..

Current mood: infuriated
Do not read any further if you have not seen the ending of The Sopranos and would not like it ruined for you.
David Chase thank you for creating The Sopranos.. and FUCK YOU for the worst series of story lines and the worst ending to a great show. After 7 years with this story I think we deserved to know what the hell happened to Tony.. arrested? Killed? Or What? And the way they set up the last scene anything could have happened.. It was pretty brilliant actually.. I was all there at the edge of the seat just waiting to see what would happened.. analyzing every second.. trying to catch every little subtle move of every person in the last scene… AND THEN IT LOOKED LIKE MY CABLE WENT OUT… ASSHOLE! I even called my parents just to make sure it wasn't my Tivo pulling one of its fits and that was really what happened. David Chase sucks ass.. really.. he does.. he should go suck a big fat ass right now. He made such a big deal about adding all these extra episodes after he almost ended the show last season… oooo he had this great story line to finish up.. blah blah blah.. a bunch of shit.. there hasn't been a good story line since they killed Adriana and put her car in long term parking. After that.. its been shit. They even had to bring in Steve Buscemi for a few shows to spice things up.. and then killed him off.. At least the last scene was at Holsteins which is one of my favorite places in my area.. used to go there all the time when I was a kid and then in high school and college.. No they don't really have those little jukeboxes on the table.. but a lot of the North NJ diners used to have them. Another cool thing is that the place where Uncle Junior was at the end is the old hospital my mom used to work at for 25 years. It is closed now but I remember a few weeks ago I saw them there filming. I go by there on the way to work and saw all the trucks in the parking lot.. James Gandolfini was hanging around by his SUV near the street.. just like an average Joe. Really.. could he have ended it a worse way? One of those "Lady and the Tiger" type endings… well kids.. which door do you think Tony opens at the end of the story? The one with the hitman that takes out his whole fucking family.. or the one with the FBI agent who drags him out in cuffs… I never liked that story when I read it as a kid for school.. and I don't like it now.. The only really cool thing about the story is how they had the cat hanging around staring at Christopher's picture.. you know that cat was Adriana reincarnated.. David Chase should have had that cat trip Tony by accident and break his fucking neck.. now THAT would have been a good ending.. What a sack of garbage.
