i just took some vacation time from work in order to take a step back to try and restore some balance in my life.  nothing serious just get caught up on a few a things.  those things never got done; only replaced by other things.  why does it always seem to work that way.  same thing happens with circles of friends ive noticed...people jump from one circle to the next having to keep things balanced. 
balance its the key to pretty much all sports
balance also a key to having a successful check book
balance maybe ill find it at work

yeah u heard me.  HiFi Buys Amphitheatre was the place.  we started the day early in order to catch the noon bands.  thursday was the first band i think we saw the entire set of.  we grabbed some pizza and had a sit.  by the way it was freakin hot. NOFX was also good. they put on a show.  finished up with some less than jake......we enjoyed it....great trip... best part though the punk chicks!

corn update:  6-7-06 thigh high on me (if u dont know me i guess that gives u  no clue)

peppers (banana and bell) :  just added a yellow bell.  the sweet banana are starting to produce and should be ready to pick by saturday.

lettuce (black seeded simpson):  doing well just did the final thining which yielded an entire plastic grocery sack full.  1/2 will be donated to the lawler household.

squash:  well well well it all cant be good.  though the squash plants themselves are doing quite well the squash they produce however are small.  i am chalking this up to the lack of sunlight the plants receive.

peanuts:  doing very well thanks for asking.  since most of the business takes place under ground i can only say that the top looks healthy.

Peaches and Cream and Silver Queen.....planted last Wed. update this Wed.  (10th).......2 radishes have been harvested.

there has been a miracle.  Four corn stalks have risen from the ashes.  Exciting i know. Cucumber has joined more corn as the next things to planted.  This will conclude this cycle i hope.

yes yes i didnt wait till i heard the call of a whippoorwill.....i know stupid right....nor did i wait till the leaves on a post oak where as big as a possum's ear....what an idiot right.  so i guess it serves me right.....if those clues didn't let you in on what happened......my corn didn't survive. two nights in the 40s did it in.  i will be getting more but you guys will have to push back the calenders for the arrival of corn. wow that was a lot of plowing that i will have to do over.

Ok write it down folks the corn  is in the ground.   As earlier posted there was no "friggin rain".  mark the days down on the calendar. June 8th, June 19th, July 1st. The three types in this order should be about ready to pick: Early and Often, Ruby Queen, and Kandy Korn.
